    I want to get the current date (day, mon and year). I found out there are some functions in C to do that like ctime (get the string of time), localtime and gmtime. I tried with following code but the output are different. I get this output: The date and time is Tue Apr 20 2010 (which is correct) The year is : 110 The year is : 110.     I'm using the JQuery Validation plugin. I'm using the remote option to make a call to my webservice to check if a company name exists. The webservice only accepts JSON data. I pass the data to the webservice from the Company Input Field in my Form as follows: data: "{'company': '" + $('#Company').val() + "'}" But this always returns a blank value for company so the response is {'company':''} i.e. correct JSON but missing the Company Input Field value. Can anyone shed some light on why I always get a blank value here? Thanks for the help, Ciaran

  • PHP float bug: PHP Hangs On Numeric Value

    I just read an interesting article about php hanging on certain float numbers, see The Register and Exploring Binary. I never explicitly use floats, I use number_format() to clean my input and display for example prices. Also, as far as I am aware, all input from for example forms are strings until I tell them otherwise so I am supposing that this problem does not affect me. Am I right, or do I need to check for example Wordpress and Squirrelmail installations on my server to see if they cast anything to float? Or better, grep all php files on my servers for float?

    In the snippet below, the child div is normally positioned until it is :hovered , when it becomes absolutely positioned. The reasoning behind this markup is to simulate a popup style in a limited environment where I can't use a <select> (among other limitations). When child is hovered, the sibling elements jump around, which is expected, as the contents of the block have changed. But how can I preserve their positioning? That is, what CSS can I add to prevent the siblings from jumping around when child is hovered. Javascript is also not allowed, so please no answers using JS.     I have the following problem: I am trying to retreive a sum value based on one condition. Problem is that I can't join the conditional value since my tables aren't joined. Here is my syntax: SELECT SUM(value) FROM value v join day d on v.day_id = d.day_id join budget b on d.budget_id = b.budget_id join unit u on v.unit_id = u.unit_id where #output.class = (SELECT distinct s.class FROM sale s where s.id = #output.sale_id) AND u.unit_name in ('electronics') With this sybtax I get no error but neither values.     I use Netbeans IDE (6.5) and I have a SQLite 2.x database. I installed a JDBC SQLite driver from zentus.com and added a new driver in Nebeans services panel.   • Update options to jQuery slider via form

    I have a jQuery Slider, and I am trying to make it more dynamic by adding three input fields: min max step I want to take those fields and then onblur update my slider options. I read that you can set options like this: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', 7); And do the same for min,step, etc along with the other options. I tried playing with it yesterday, but I'm not sure how to get it to update. I am using a form with no submit button, so just change on blur. I know I would get the .val() of the input and set it to a variable then would it be: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', var_here); Any thoughts?

Previously we did it using <input type="hidden" id="name" value="manoj" /> we take this value in action class by request.getParameter("name"). But now we couldn't pass value like "Hi\n i am\n Manoj". Since it has new line included in the string we couldn't take it like this to action. So how I can take value like this to action or is there any way other than hidden input? Thanks .

Basically I'd like a way to see if the sanitize function has actually replaced a character (and at what index) so then I can adjust the charPosition if necessary. Any ideas?
