    Hello, guys. How to get/set the hours and minutes via code from a UIDatePicker in UIDatePickerModeCountDownTimer mode? The situation: I have an interface in that a user selects just hours and minutes. Then, he saves the information (so, I have to get the hours and minutes from UIDatePicker via code to save in a DB). When the user is editing the information saved previously, I want to start the interface with the saved hours/minutes (so, I have to set the UIDatePicker hours and minutes retrieved from DB via code). How do I do that with the UIDatePiker in UIDatePickerModeCountDownTimer mode? Thanks in advance.

  • NSMutableURLRequest wont turn on 3G

    I won't bother posting any code because my code works fine when I launch Safari or something that turns on the 3G connection first. When I put it Airport mode, then put back OFF, I will get the behavior of a connection error saying No internet connection with NSMutableURLRequest. I've personally mailed apple about how the Ant gets turned on and off, and they said anything that uses their base CFSocketStream object will turn on the Ant, and I quote: "such as NSURLRequest".. BSD Sockets do not, just so everyone knows.. However, I assumed NSMutableURLRequest would fall into the category of 'Does', but it seems like it doesnt. It never succeeds for me when I cycle Airport or have the phone idle for a long time. It will ALWAYS succeed when I open any other network app first to turn the Ant on. Shall I be forced to do a dummy NSURLRequest call to turn this on; or has anyone been able to get this class working just fine? Remember this is just an implementation of NSMutableURLRequest to upload a file Async, and no other Network operations are performed anywhere; no ads, no version checks, no nothing.

  • Dismissing UIImagePickerController from UITabBarController

    I have a tab bar application whereby one tab uses a navigation controller to move through a series of views. On the final view, there is a button to add a photo, which presents a UIImagePickerController. So far, so good - however when I finish picking the image, or cancel the operation, the previous view is loaded, but without the tab bar. I'm sure I'm missing something elementary, but any suggestions on how to properly release the UIImagePickerController would be much appreciated.   • Modifying UINavigation Bar Buttons in SubViews

    I'm having trouble trying to modify the navigation bar in the subview portion of my application. self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemDone target:self action:@selector(add_Clicked:)] autorelease]; I have no issues modifying the navigation bar in any of my UIViewControllers classes. The simplified application class outline is as such: AppDelegate - UIViewControllerA (has a left and a right navigationBarButton) - Subview is displayed when a SegmentControl is selected. (Within the subview, I'm trying to modify the right NavigationBarButton that is displayed) [self.view addSubview:newControllerName.view]; Methods I have attempted: Trying to set self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem within my subview to a new UIBarButtonItem. Creating a pointer to UIViewControllerA within my AppDelegate. The UIViewControllerA contains a function setNavButton I wrote to set the rightBarButtonItem to a button. Then I am referencing the AppDelegate's reference to UIViewControllerA and attempting to call setNavButton. I included a NSLog call to see if that function is being called and it is executing but the NavigationBar isn't being modified. I'm trying to avoid having to push a UIViewController after the SegmentControl is clicked in UIViewControllerA so that I can simulate the SegmentControl as tabs. I'm not getting any errors during compile or run time. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi there, Does anyone have any recommendations with localization of core data? My application will have information that will sometimes be the same in both langauges, such as a person's photo, or different such as the person's biography. From what I understand, it's possible to localize the field names (http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/CoreData/Articles/cdUsingMOM.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40005190-SW13), but what's the best course of action for field values?   • SKProductsRequest delegate methods are never called.

    This used to work for me but is now not working anymore and I can't figure out why. I have in-app purchase setup in my app. I confirmed that I have a correct set of product identifiers, matched by corresponding in-app purchase items in itunesconnect. The call goes out to Apple view [productRequest start], but I never get a response back, despite setting the delegate to myself. What am I missing?   • Push a ViewController and It Pops Right Back

    I have a view controller with a table view and a UISearchBar. When the view controller is first brought up, the table is populated. A click on a table row pushes another view controller, it animates up and then pops right back down and returns me to the table. It does this whether the search bar has been used or not. I do this push pop kind of action in several view controllers with not problem. My guess is that the UISearchBar is somehow getting in the way. Any one have any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

  • UIImage from NSDocumentDirectory leaking memory

    Hey. I currently have this code: UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:[imagesPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"/%@.png", [postsArrayID objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]]]; It's loading in an image to set in a UITableViewCell. This obviously leaks a lot of memory (I do release it, two lines down after setting the cells image to be that image), and I'm not sure if it caches the image at all. Is there another way, that doesen't leak so much, I can use to load in images multiple times, like in a tableView, from the Documents-directory of my app? Thanks.

    Here is what I do: 1) Create New UIViewController subclass , tick with NIB for interface builder 2) In the header: @interface QuizMainViewController : UIViewController { UILabel* aLabel; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel* aLabel; @end 3) In the .m #import "QuizMainViewController.h" @implementation QuizMainViewController @synthesize aLabel; - (void)dealloc { [aLabel release]; [super dealloc]; } @end 4) Open the NIB In interface builder, drag a new UILabel into the view. I test the program here and it runs fine. 5) right click on file's owner, connect 'aLabel' from the Outlets to the UILabel. I run here and it crashes. Message from log: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSUnknownKeyException', reason: '[ setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key aLabel.'

    I've got an enumeration in my game. A simple string message with an appended PacketType is being sent with the message (so it knows what to do with the message) over GameKit WIFI connection. I used Apple's GKRocket sample code as a starting point. The code itself is working fantastically; I just want to understand what the line with CFSwapInt32HostToBig is doing. What on earth does that do? and why does it need to do it? My guess is that it's making sure the PacketType value can be converted to an unsigned integer so it can send it reliably, but that doesn't sound all that correct to me.     This tutorial on mobileorchard.com uses 2 classes (or 2 sets of .h and .m) to implement core location. Can I just use everything there in my existing class? How would I do that?
