    If I wanna authenticate windows accounts to AD when a user browses to an apache-running site on a Linux server, here are the usual suspects:   * mod_ntlm (which I used in a distant past) - last update on 2003 * mod_auth_ntlm_winbind - last update on 04/2007 * mod_auth_kerb - last update on 12/2008 No luck getting any of those to work with a recent, fully patched, windows 2000 AD server. I need to make a simple GUI in Visual Studio 2008 using C Sharp that uses a Dave Coffins DCRAW written in C but I don't know how to "connect" dcraw.c (DCRAW source code) file with Csharp... UFRAW is the example of grafical interface that uses dcraw but I can't find it's source code. My application should be very simple: to recognize raw file on digital camera or any disc and uses one interpolatio algorithm on that raw file.

    Hello, Q1 - As far as I know, Visual Studio doesn’t use aspnet_compiler.exe when compiling web application projects. And since Web Deployment Projects (WDP) tool is only used for manipulation the output created by aspnet_compiler.exe, I don’t understand how VS 2008 also has an option for using WDP with web application projects?!     I know it is rather heated question. But anyway I'd like to hear opinions of those in Stackoverflow. Given that XML support is quite good in SQL Server 2005/2008, and there's no concern about database independency, why one need Linq-to-SQL, Entity Framework, NHibernate and the likes, which are quite complex and awkward in advanced use-cases, if by using POCOs, XmlSerializer, and stored procedures which process XML, one can achieve a lot less complex middle-tier? Initially i install database on this pc with some initial data (there are some tables that application uses and the user doesn't touch). The question is - how can i upgrade this database after user created some new data without harming it (i continue developing and can add some new tables or stored procedures or add some columns to existing tables).     I am targeting windows machines. I need to get access to the pointer to the byte array describing the individual streaming frames from an attached usb webcam. I saw the playcap directshow sample from the windows sdk, but I dont see how to get to raw data, frankly, I don't understand how the video actually gets to the window.     I want to convert a string like this: '10/15/2008 10:06:32 PM' into the equivalent DATETIME value in Sql Server. In Oracle, I would say this: TO_DATE('10/15/2008 10:06:32 PM','MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM') This question implies that I must parse the string into one of the standard formats, and then convert using one of those codes. That seems ludicrous for such a mundane operation. Is there an easier way?

    Hi, I just noticed that if I have an identity column in a table, when I insert new rows MS SQL 2008 is automatically filling up the sequence if there are discontinuity. I mean, if in my identity column I have 1,2,5,6 if I insert other two rows in the table the system puts automatically 3,7 in the identity column. Do you know how to control this behavior? THANKS
