• iphone setting UITextView delegate breaks auto completion

  Hi there! I have a UITextField that I would like to enable auto completion on by: [self.textView setAutocorrectionType:UITextAutocorrectionTypeYes]; This works normally, except when I give the UITextView a delegate. When a delegate is set, auto complete just stops working. The delegate has only the following method: - (void)textViewDidChange:(UITextView *)textView { self.textView.text = [self.textView.text stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"\n" withString:@""]; int left = LENGTH_MAX -[self.textView.text length]; self.characterCountLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%i",abs(left)]; } Does anyone know how to have both auto complete enabled and a delegate set? • C#, Lotus Interop: Getting Message Information

  I'm using Interop.Domino.dll to retrieve E-mails from a Lotus "Database" (Term used loosely). I'm having some difficulty in retrieving certain fields and wonder how to do this properly. I've been using NotesDocument.GetFirstItem to retrieve Subject, From and Body. My issues in this regard are thus: How do I retrieve Reply-To address? Is there a list of "Items" to get somewhere? I can't find it. How do I retrieve friendly names for From and Reply-To addresses? When I retrieve Body this way, it's formatted wierdly with square bracket sets ([]) interspersed randomly across the message body, and parts of the text aren't where I expect them.   How do I properly register javascript blocks in an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) Editor template? The specific scenario I'm in is that I want to use Dynarch JSCal2 DateTimePicker for my standard datetime picker, but this question is in general to any reusable javascript package. I have my template working properly now but it has my JS and CSS includes in my master page and I would rather only include these things if I actually need them: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/border-radius.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/lang/en.js"></script> So obviously I could just put these lines into my template, but then if I have a screen that has 5 DateTimePickers, then this content would be duplicated 5 times which wouldn't be ideal. records... i am not able to find any solution /control using which i an do it easily. coz my field's value is in attribute named "Value" when in the examples i saw its between opening and closing tag.. i have 2 methods to do so. 1 . i make one page to edit a single record and pass id of record to that page on editing. open the page in iframe on same page to edit and in page_load get data from database for id passed and fill it in control. 2 . i store xml on server as physical file and use it in page i opened in iframe to edit the record. so i am confused... can anybody please guide me that what shpould i do to let user provide interface to edit this xml data/user profile ?

  I've found that updating a text view every second in my app burns a lot of CPU. The textview is in a horizontal LinearLayout, which is in turn inside of a vertical LinearLayout. Switching to a RelativeLayout (as recommended to increase perf) is not an option right now (I tried to get that working originally, but it was too complicated). The horizontal LinearLayout has 3 elements. The outer ones are TextViews with a layout_weight of 0, and the middle one is a progress bar with a layout_weight of 1 to make it expand to take up most of the space. I'm changing the contents of the leftmost TextView every second So, is there a way to change the contents of the text view without re-drawing everything? Or, can I force the TextViews to use a fixed amount of space to simplify the layout. Other tips for speeding up a LinearLayout are greatly appreciated as well. For reference, here is my entire layout.   I am using the Spark View Engine for ASP.NET MVC2 and trying to use Blueprint CSS.   on my tableview i have the last cell that is not initially visible as seen in the first image, when i scroll the list up, you can see in the second image that the price or my detailTextLabel is put on a new line not maintaining the right justification. • Linux: setting up an elite/high-anonimity Web proxy on a dedicated server

  I'm renting a dedicated server which I'd like to use to "surf the Web": basically I want to always surf the Web from the same static IP (the one of my dedicated server). I can do it by running Xvnc/FreeNX on the dedicated server, but this is kinda slow and clumsy (I tried it). What are the steps needed to install an "elite/high-anonimity" Web proxy on a dedicated (Debian) Linux server knowing that my two requirements are: I'm the only person that needs access to the proxy all I want is that my broadband (dynamic) IP is completely hidden (I want to always surf from my dedicated server's IP). Note that using the static IP people can find my domains and my real name and I'm perfectly fine with that (actually it is what I want). What I don't want is people knowing from which dynamic IP (broadband) I'm connecting. What are the steps needed to do that? (basically I don't care about "anonimity", what I want is to appear to surf from a static IP and I think I need what is called an "elite" Web proxy to do that, but I'm not sure) Technical infos and sample configuration most welcome :)

  I am using a Java library called PDFBox trying to write text to a PDF. It works perfect for English text, but when i tried to write Russian text inside the PDF the letters appeared so strange. It seems the problem is in the font used, but i am not so sure about that, so i hope if anyone could guide me through this. • How to keep track of TextPointer in WPF RichTextBox?

  I'm trying to get my head around the TextPointer class in a WPF RichTextBox. I would like to be able to keep track of them so that I can associate information with areas in the text. I am currently working with a very simple example to try and figure out what is going on. In the PreviewKeyDown event I am storing the caret position and then in the PreviewKeyUp event I am creating a TextRange based on the before and after caret positions. Here is a code sample that illustrates what I am trying to do: // The caret position before typing private TextPointer caretBefore = null; private void rtbTest_PreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { // Store caret position caretBefore = rtbTest.CaretPosition; } private void rtbTest_PreviewKeyUp(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { // Get text between before and after caret positions TextRange tr = new TextRange(caretBefore, rtbTest.CaretPosition); MessageBox.Show(tr.Text); } The problem is that the text that I get is blank. For example, if I type the character 'a' then I would expect to find the text "a" in the TextRange. Does anyone know what is going wrong? It could be something very simple but I've spent an afternoon getting nowhere. I am trying to embrace the new WPF technology but find that the RichTextBox in particular is so complicated that it makes even doing simple things like this difficult. If anyone has any links that do a good job of explaining the TextPointer, I would appreciate it if you can let me know.

  If I add this to the ASPX page: <input id="Text1" type="text" value="Text1Value" /> I would expect to see "Text1" in the list of Request Form keys even WITHOUT setting the runat=Server property. ? request.Form.AllKeys I realize that if I do set that propery, then I will have a server-sided HTML control that I can reference using the name "Text1," but shouldn't I be able to access the text in the text box using the following VB.NET syntax? request.Form("Text1")

• How do I make silverlight button transparent while showing the image?

  I have a button that is programatically created, it's content is a stack panel with an image and a textblock. This all works great. I want to make the button behind the image and text transparent, so that the image and text looks like it's sitting on the background, but still have all the properties of the button (i.e. someone clicks in the button region it still registers the button click event). I have been playing with opacities, but every opacity I play with dealing with the button seems to set the whole button (image and text included) to that opacity value as well. How can I make the button opaque while making the text and image content still visible? Oh, this is silverlight 3. Thanks in advance.
