    I am working with Visual Studio 2008. Actually there is References folder missing in its solution explorer. When I create a New web Application it has References folder but when I add new .aspx file it also adds .aspx.designer.cs file with it and its does not show master page option in add dialogue. but in the old web application it shows the master page option where master page file is already added. whats the difference between these two solutions.

    I'm trying to create a simple button that deletes a row from the database. I would like to set the ID of the control to something like delete_MATERIALID_button however, when I do this: <asp:Button ID='delete_<%# Eval("MatID") %>_button' runat="server" Text="Delete" /> I get an error that the name can't be generated like that. I know that there must be a simple solution, I just can't figure it out.

    I have some xml files with figure spaces in it, I need to remove those with php. The utf-8 code for these is e2 80 a9. If I'm not mistaken php does not seem to like 6 byte utf-8 chars, so far at least I'm unable to find a way to delete the figure spaces with functions like preg_replace. Anybody any tips or even better a solution to this problem?

Building an entire application without having to type a single line of code (or only a few of them) seems just wrong.     Hi Folks, I'm curious what would be the best practice to extend the Date constructor. The problem I'm facing is, that the Internet Explorer (< 7+8) can't parse a date like new Date('2010-05-11'); I have to admit that this is not a standard method to parse, anyways FireFox and Chrome perform well on that kind of date string. Now I'm wondering, should I just split/parse/rebuild the string before calling new Date() or is there a more elegant solution ?

  • How does one go about writing a virtual MIDI interface?

    I want to do some funky things with controlling MIDI streams, and I'd like to be able to pipe MIDI input into an application like Ableton or Reason. Presumably this involves some sort of driver level work? Ultimately I'd like to write my application in Python, so if there is some Python-based solution, I'd consider it. I'm perfectly fine with using C/C++, though, so that's not a problem.
