    I have a Ubuntu-server. I am trying to install Vsftpd but it shows the : Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Couldn't find package vsftpd After that I checked internet connection by ping 4.2.2.4 and there was no problem in internet connection. I tried to apt-get update but it was not possible it shows: Err http://us.archive.ubuntu.com lucid Release.gpg Temporary failure resolving 'us.archive.ubuntu.com'

  • Wired USB mouse left button stops working

    My wired USB mouse's left button stops working properly after being plugged into the computer for about five minutes. The mouse button will become sticky and not allow me to select things or the left button is completely unresponsive. The mouse driver is up to date. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with the Service Pack 2 on a Sony Viao laptop (Model number (VGN-NW125J). If anybody knows how to fix this your help would be greatly appreciated.

    What are good alternatives to the Windows builtin remote desktop client? I have tried Terminals and it is great but I've have run into numerous bugs with the latest release (currently 1.7e). Can anyone recommend an alternative similar to Terminals? EDIT (in response to Adam Gibbins' answer): One of the biggest things I'm looking for is session management and a tabbed environment similar to the Terminals interface.

    Hi all, currently my logrotate configuration adds a single number after the rotated log file: mylogfile.log is rotated to mylogfile.log.1 I would like to change the extension to mylogfile.log.Current date does anyone know a way to do this? my log rotate code is :- /usr/local/jboss/jboss-3.2.7-ND1/server/default/log/consolelog.log { copytruncate rotate 1 missingok notifempty } Currently am renaming the rotated file with script.is there any option to change the extension of log rotate default configuration. Can that be done?

  • Can a PCI Graphics card, and AGP be used together?

    The question pretty much says it all. I use an old 845GBV board ( to-date reliant upon the integrated graphics processor ). All slots on the board are unused. Lately I've been thinking in terms changing it to a dual monitor so that I can use one console for documentation/help/sample code/whatever, the other one to play with code. Assuming this board can handle a PCI GPU, can an AGP4x board coexist with a PCI GPU?

  • How do I determine the linux server software/version and email server software/version running

    I just inherited this a single linux box running pop/smtp for a small office (25 users). I'm new to Linux. I think the box is running Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 as the server (this is bannered accross the screen occassionally) but not sure of the release/kernal/build etc. I need to be certain of both the server os and email linux versions in order to perform research, admin and support. Any help/pointers on how to do this is much appreciated.

    I have an AMD Radeon 5850 (about to be 2), and today I read that Rift is a member of Nvidia's "the way it's meant to be played" program. It was suggested that as such the developers would not be speaking with or working directly with AMD for optimization, and that it would be unlikely that Crossfire support would be added until the game's release. Are any of these implications likely? Or does it just mean that Nvidia is working closely with the developers for optimization and marketing support?

  • Why is Outlook deleting messages as soon as I click on the folder?

    I have three issues...I'm using Outlook 2003 on exchange. 1) My email stopped storing messages in sent items 2) When I click on sent items all of the old items that were stored before this problem started occurring do not appear arranged by date, it keeps changing back to arranged by "To". 3) When I click on the deleted items folder it clears the folder immediately without my telling it to.     I'm a CS uni student in a country with limited bandwidth, and I find that I download files (particularly install files) for reuse\reinstallation\giving to my friends.. I've kept these files in different folders, and now find it extremely hard to find them, and keeping track of obselete files (the almost weekly releases of iTunes versions, or latest 7zip release or the .Net framework installers). What I would like to find is a file manager that could support tags, so instead of hierachical folders, i could find\view files according to their tags...

I've found this Release Notes page and a (short) summery table at the top of the language tutorial but neither have dates, so I don't know where to start (and the more detailed notes make for rather dry reading). Is there a way we can export a specific page for a customer without giving them access to the entire wiki (which is currently behind a PAM-based authentication). Edit1: Sorry for the vagueness, I meant is there a way to syndicate a specific page so that they don't actually have access to the wiki but the content is still available and up-to-date.   • How do I create a Word 2007 form that will tab between text fields, and not within the text field?

    I am trying to create a protected form in MS Word 2007. However, once created it won't tab between the text fields, or from a text field to the next field, it only tabs inside of the text fields. It will tab to the next field for everything else, ie date boxes, list boxes, etc. I have tried using the Rich Text control, the Plain Text control, the Text Form field and the Text Box control and it all does the same thing.
