• ie8 breaks with asp.net ajax

  Hello, When using asp.net ajax (scriptmanager, timer, updatepanel) with ie8, after certain time (~3h) IE breaks with null object, constructor, or paramArray (depending on the asp.net code). Even with the simplest timer (no ajax, no updatepanel) ie8 still breaks. On every other browser it works fine, and if I code the ajax myself it works. Since google and msdn forums turned up nothing I'm wondering if anybody here has had similar problems with ie8 browser.

• MVC App Works in Visual Studio, but not IIS7

• How to get objects to react to touches in Cocos2D?

  Alright, so I'm starting to learn more about Coco2D, but I'm kinda frusterated. A lot of the tutorials I have found are for outdated versions of the code, so when I look through and see how they do certain things, I can't translate it into my own program, because a lot has changed. With that being said, I am working in the latest version of Coco2d, version 0.99. What I want to do is create a sprite on the screen (Done) and then when I touch that sprite, I can have "something" happen. For now, let's just make an alert go off. Now, I got this code working with the help of a friend. I can't do it for 2 sprites, which I was testing. So my question is this: How can I have all sprites on the screen react to the same event when touched? For my program, the same event needs to be run for all objects of the same type, so that should make it a tad easier. I tried making a subclass of CCNode and over write the method, but that just didn't work at all... so I'm doing something wrong. Help would be appreciated!

  We have .net application installed on production server. It is using .net FrameWork 3.0 on windows server 2003 with RAM 4 GB. But there is a problem in application while running sometimes it throws system out of memory exception. I am very frustrating with this. Also I am unable to simulate the issue. • Form submit to target iframe only works once

  I'm having a really irritating problem doing something that I'm sure I've done before. The setup is this: There's a form which is submitted via a "click" handler on a button, though the submit is ultimately a simple call to the form's native submit() function. The form's target is an iframe, which is initially filled with an empty page (that is, its source object is an URL for an empty page). That is, the "target" attribute of the form is the same identifier (and yes, it's a valid identifier) as the "name" and "id" attributes of the iframe (and yes, it's unique) Now the goal of this setup is as follows: the form contains file upload fields. Should something be wrong with one of the files uploaded, the server will report back an error. If the error response (that is, the html page with a new copy of the form, along with appropriate error messages) were to be allowed to reload the original window, then the file input fields would be cleared. That's not good. Thus the form submits to the iframe, so that the response from the server can be a small page that knows it's in that hidden iframe, and knows to move the error messages up to the form. One more thing: the form itself is also in an iframe, as part of a popup modal dialog (like a jQuery UI dialog, only slightly different; same idea though). The setup works fine - on the first submit. In other words, if I supply nice happy files to upload, the server ships back the successful response, and the dialog is closed correctly. If I send a bogus file, the server responds with an error page that correctly copies its stuff up to the form page. On the second submit, however (like, if I fix the bogus file input field), the browser insists on sending the server response to a new browser tab. As far as I can tell, the form's "target" remains correct, the iframe "name" and "id" attributes aren't changed, and I even make sure to update the hidden iframe "window.name" and "window.id" values. None of that is helping; I always get a new browser tab. I'm trying to set up a slightly simpler test case to see if I can rule out some of my framework code (the stuff that does the submit), though via a few console.log() calls I think that stuff is OK; it's certainly OK on all the other dialogs etc. in the site. When/if I create a simpler version I'll post it. In the meantime, if any of you insanely smart people recognize this situation and know of a trick to make it work, I'd be really thankful. I see the same behavior in both Firefox (3.6) and Chrome, so it's got to be my problem and not a browser quirk (well, at least that's what I think to be true).

• Jeditable Datepicker onblur problem

  Hi, I am using inline editing using Jeditable and datepicker. I have a column in my table which displays Date as a hyperlink. When I click on this it shows me the datepicker. And when a particular date is selected its updated in the backend and the cell now is updated with the changed value. However, am having problem with onblur event while changing month or years. This event gets triggered when I click on "Prev" or "Next" buttons on the datepicker control. This causes an exception when the date is selected. This works fine as long as the date selected is in the current month. I tried all possible solutions listed here: stackoverflow.com/questions/2007205/jeditable-datepicker-causing-blur-when-changing-month If settimeout the control does not change back to a normal hyperlink on closing the datepicker or on a true onblur event. Store the fingerprints it self. (So I do not have to change the Database for my program.) 3. Work in both event and no-event mode. (Event Mode: Give notification if someone swipes a finger on the reader; No-Event mode: I activate the reader in synchronous mode). 4. Should provide API for either confirming a user or Identifying a user. (Confirm API: I send the person's ID/unique number and it confirms that it is the same person; Identifying API: The sdk sends the person's ID after it looks up the person using the fingerprint) I would also like to get a comparison of Fingerprint readers if anybody knows of one available on the internet. • UIScrollView without paging but with touchesmoved

  I have a UIScrollView that I use to display PDF pages in. I don't want to use paging (yet). I want to display content based on touchesmoved event (so after horizontal swipe). This works (sort of), but instead of catching a single swipe and showing 1 page, the swipe seems to gets broken into 100s of pieces and 1 swipe acts as if you're moving a slider! I have no clue what am I doing wrong.   I have a chart for which the data is provided asynchronously via a CallResponder (used with a RemoteObject). However, it does not seem possible to update the chart with the data after it has been initially drawn. I have tried: Firing a collection modified event after assigning it to chart.dataProvider calling invalidateDisplayList (tried with all components) binding the chart data provider to a variable, and doing the above. changing the view state on the last line of resultHandler. None of them worked. When I fetch the data and cache it locally, then use it to call init synchronously, the chart displays correctly. What am I missing here?

• F# Add Constructor to a Record?

  Basically I want to have a single construct to deal with serializing to both JSON and formatted xml. Records workd nicley for serializing to/from json. However XmlSerializer requires a parameterless construtor. I don't really want to have to go through the exercise of building class objects for these constructs (principal only). I was hoping there could be some shortcut for getting a parameterless constructor onto a record (perhaps with a wioth statement or something).   I currently have built a system that checks user IP, browser, and a random-string cookie to determine if he is an admin. In the worst case, someone steals my cookie, uses the same browser I do, and masks his IP to appear as mine. Is there another layer of security I should add onto my script to make it more secure?

• Is there any way to test server side code using JSTestDriver?

  I'm new to JS unit testing and I like what I've read about JSTestDriver. The idea of have the suite run every time you save is pretty cool. JSTestDriver runs Javascript in a browser sandbox and PHP runs on the server. If the browser slaves can serve from an arbitrary server is there any reason that you couldn't test it via AJAX? It this a misuse/misunderstanding of what the framework is for? Any clarifications are appreciated.

  I'm authenticating a user in my application with the method "FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie" method, but when I close the browser and reopen it, it is still authenticated, but the session is over already, then my app crashes because it has necessary data on the session to generate the menus. What I want to do is the following: Create an authentication ticket without create a auth cookie to, whenever the user open the page in a new browser session it will request the login once again. How can I achieve this.
