• Postfix Bounced Emails With Google Apps

  So our company uses Google Apps to handle our accounts for our employees. Meaning something like [email protected] would go to Google Apps. We also use postfix on our server to send out our news letter emails to our users. We've setup our emails to have a unique return-path which is basically [email protected] problem is that when postfix gets a bounce during the SMTP connection, it actually sends out the email to Google Apps. Is there anyway that we can setup Postfix to not send to [email protected] and instead pipe that message to a script which we can grab the original message and log the bounced address? I realize this only partially works as some emails may send correctly from postfix and then bounce down the road somewhere, but this should help us out with a good portion of our bounces. For a start, in main.cf we have recipient_delimiter = + and in master.cf we have bouncehandler unix - n n - - pipe user=nobody argv=/path/to/bounce_handler.php ${recipient} Not really sure where to go from here though.

• ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 2 Route Request Not Working

  Here's the error: The incoming request does not match any route. Basically I upgraded from Preview 1 to Preview 2 and got rid of a load of redundant stuff in relation to areas (as described by Phil Haack). It didn't work so I created a brand new project to check out how its dealt with in Preview 2. To test it, I quickly deleted Default.aspx but then absolutely nothing worked, I didn't even receive any errors.   I have a problem with calling soap service from php page. I was implemented two page,first page was created in php, and second page was created in asp.net. In asp.net application I have SOAP service, which methods should be called from php.   In Flash 10/AS3, I added some sound and it seems to be working alright, but I think I'm doing it wrong. I imported the sound into the library, but I believe that it's reloading it from the folder with the swf/sound. • AJAX form sections - how to pass url of next stage of form

  Hi, I've got a multi-part form (in a PHP MVC setup) which I have working correctly without javascript enhancement. I'm starting to add the AJAX form handling code which will handle each stage of a form submission, validating/saving data etc, before using AJAX to load the next stage of the form. I'm wondering how best to pass the URL of the next stage to the current form being processed, so that my jQuery form handling code can process the current form, then load the next part via AJAX. The form "action" is different from what the url of the next stage of the form is - what do you think would be good practice here? I was thinking about either appending the url of the next stage to the form action url, via a query string - then just use javascript to extract this url when the form is successfully processed. The other option is via a hidden form element. Not sure what other client side options I have here Any thoughts?

• Data persistance with BufferedReader and PrintWriter?

  I have this simple application with a couple of classes which are all related. There's one, the main one, for which there is only one instance of. I need to save save and load that using a text stream. My instructor requirement is BufferedReader to load the stream and PrintWriter to save it. But is this even possible? To persist a data object/class with a text stream? I know how to do it with and object, using serialization. But I don't see how am I supposed to do it using text streams. Suggestions?

• VBScript Issue Help Required.

  I need a script that can run and pull information from any drive on a Windows operating system (Windows Server 2003), listing all files and folders which contain the following fields: The server is quite big and is within our domain. The required information is: Full file path (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\testPage.doc) File type (e.g. word document, spreadsheet, database etc) Size When Created When last modified When last accessed Also the script will need to convert that data to a CSV file, which later on I can modify and process in Excel. I can imagine that this data will be huge but I still need it. I am logged in as an administrator on the server and the script will need to also process protected files. As in previous posts I have read that the script will stop if such files are processed. I need to make sure that not a single file is skipped. Please note I have asked this question before but still have not got a working script. Is there a way to set/trigger a nested property (a regular property not DependencyProperty) easily with some kind of simple mechanisms as described here? I apply this system repetitively and it continues to work smoothly. I've seen that there are a lot of frameworks available on SPA's (such as backbone.js) but I don't understand why I need them if this works fine. From the backbone.js website: When working on a web application that involves a lot of JavaScript, one of the first things you learn is to stop tying your data to the DOM. It's all too easy to create JavaScript applications that end up as tangled piles of jQuery selectors and callbacks, all trying frantically to keep data in sync between the HTML UI, your JavaScript logic, and the database on your server. For rich client-side applications, a more structured approach is often helpful. Well, I totally don't have the feeling that I'm going through the stuff they mention. Adding the javascript per page works really well for me. They are html containers with clear scope and the javascript is just related to that part. More over, the front end doesn't do that much, most of the logic is managed based on Ajax calls to external PHP scripts. Sometimes the js can be a bit more extended for some functionalities, but all just loads as smooth in less than a second. If you think that this is bad coding, please tell me why I cannot do this and more importantly, what is the alternative I should apply. At the moment, I really don't see a reason on why I would change this approach as it just works too well. I'm kinda stuck on this question because it just worries me sick as it seems to easy to be true. Why would people go through hard times if it would be as easy as this...

• Excel isn't reading sql exported csv properly

  I have a batch file that calls sqlcmd to run a command and then export the data as a csv. When viewed in a cell the trasancted date for example shows 35:30.0 but if you click on it the formula bar shows 1/1/1900 2:45:00 PM. I need the full timestamp to show in the cell. Any ideas? The batch file is the following sqlcmd -S server -U username -P password -d database -i "D:\path\sqlScript.sql" -s "," > D:\path\report.csv -I -W -k 1 The script is the following. Now I currently have them cast as varchars, but that's simply because i've tried to change it a bit. Varchar doesn't work either. • Do you leave Windows Automatic Updates enabled on your production IIS server?

  If you were running a 24/7 website on Windows Server 2003 (IIS6). Would you leave the Windows automatic update feature enabled or would you turn it off? When enabled, you always get the latest security patches and bug fixes automatically as soon as they're available, which is the most secure choice. However, the machine will sometimes get automatically rebooted to apply the updates leading to a couple of minutes of downtime in the middle of the night. Also, I've seen rare occasions where the machine does not restart correctly resulting in further downtime. If auto updates are off, when do you apply the patches? I guess you have to use a load balancer with multiple web servers and rotate them out of the production site, apply patches manually, and put them back in. This can be logistically inconvenient when the load balancer is managed by a hosting company. You will also have machines in production that don't always have the latest security patches and you have to routinely spend time deciding which patches to apply and when.

• CodeIgnitor is generating multiple sessions in the database, why?

  Ive got a site that does a few ajax calls on page load, now for some reason, codeIgnitor is inserting 4 sessions (I'm assuming for each ajax call) as you load the page. I'm storing the sessions in the database. I'm pretty sure there should only be one session per browser? FF seems to only generate one, other browsers seem to create a whole bunch of sessions. Multiple sessions for the same user are giving me some serious authentication problems. any ideas?

  Question: In the path HUDSON_HOME/jobs/<jobname>/builds/<timestamp>/workspace-files, there are a series of .tmp files. What are these files, and what feature of Hudson do they support? Background Using Hudson version 1.341, we have a continuous build task that runs on a slave instance. After the build is otherwise complete, including archiving the artifacts, task scanner, etc., the job appears to hang for a long period of time. In monitoring the master node, I noted that many .tmp files were being created and modified under builds//workspace=files, and that some of them were very large. This appears to be causing the delay, as the job completed at the same time that files in this path stopped changing. Some key configuration points of the job: It is tied to a specific slave node It builds in a 'custom workspace' It triggers a downstream job that builds in the same custom workspace on the same slave node

• YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest does not work in Safari

  When I request a webpage using YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest in Safari I always get Communication Failure message in callback's failure properties statusText. The same method works in IE. What could be wrong here? Here is the code. When the code is executed I always get two alerts: "Three" and "communications failure undefined" (corresponding to the second alert in the failure part below.) Also when I attach the debugger and put break point in the SAProvision.aspx's page load event, the break point is not hit. So it is sure that in safari the page is not being called. • NSBezierPath with transparent fill

  I've got a NSBezierPath that needs to have a semi-transparent fill. When I fill it with a solid color, I get the expected result. However, when filled with a semi-transparent color I get a path with a rounded stroke but an odd, rectangular fill. It looks like: Instead of filling the entire area, I get a filled rectangle inside the stoke with a small, unfilled boarder. • C++ shared libraries

  Hi, I am trying to get my head around the way shared libraries work in the c++ unix environment. I understand we only need header files and no shared libraries specification when compiling code. But if I want to create an executable or shared library from my compiled files, do I need to specify shared library dependencies (those are dynamic)? And do the paths of shared libraries need to match the path at runtime loading? I am using Linux 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5 #1 SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux I am having a problem where my code is not able to pick up a library at runtime. I have tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH. But at runtime when I run the executable, I get the following error: Error: librc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Sam

  We are using Hibernate and ehcache as 2nd level cache. If I load an entity that is cached (e.g. cache-usage="read-write") and update it, it seems that this immediately results in an SQL UPDATE. (How) Can I influence when this SQL UPDATE happens? hibSession = HibernateUtil.getReadWriteSession(); tx = hibSession.beginTransaction(); User u = (User) hibSession.load(User.class, user_id); u.modify(); hibSession.update(u); tx.commit(); Edit: It seems that setting a CacheMode should have an effect, but each hibSession.update() results in an immediate SQL UPDATE, regardless which CacheMode I set.

• Stored Connection Strings per user

  In the past I've used a Singleton Pattern to load the connection string when the application starts via the global.asa file. I have a project now where each user has a unique connection string to the database. I would like to load this connection string once. The issue is that the singleton pattern will not work for me since each user has there own connection string. Basically the connection string is created dynamically. I do not want to store it is session. If anyway has a clever way of doing this in .NET let me know ?
