    i'm just curious. so i ask this particular question about SQLite. I haven't use this type of database extensively. but care to explain what is the basic different between SQLite and Mysql ? The reason behind all of this is i just want to know whether it possible to use it to store wordpress data and act as a database ?

  • Best way to store a database password in a startup script / config file?

    So our web server apps need to connect to the database, and some other apps have startup scripts that execute at boot time. What's the best way to store the name/password for these applications, in terms of security, e.g. perhaps we don't want sysadmins to know the database password maintainability, e.g. making the configuration easy to change when the password changes, etc. both windows and linux solutions appreciated!

  • Can I use the SharePoint 2010 SQL Database through SharePoint from my App?

    I wonder if there is a supported way to access the SharePoint 2010 SQL Server through an API? I'm not talking about modifying any SharePoint Database directly (I know that that is still unsupported), but I'd like to store some data that my application needs, and instead of asking the user to enter a Connection String, I'd prefer to create my own database on the SQL Server that SharePoint uses. I think I could use the new Service Application stuff, but that seems a bit overkill?

  • Should multiple regional websites all use the same database?

    I'm developing a cms for a company that has multiple regional sites (us, uk, china, russia, etc..). Should I use a separate database for each of these sites or use a single database with a 'site' field in each table? My main concern is the table language encoding (ie, can storing strings in different langauges in the same table cause problems, such as sorting issues).

    I am researching using silverlight 4 to develop a desktop application that can be installed from a browser window, now the tricky part is that I want a lightweight database embedded into the application. The database should install with the rest of the application and it should ideally work on both windows and mac systems. Originally I was thinking sqlite would be suitable for this but I have learned that it is not compatible with silverlight. Does anyone know of a solution for this?

  • How do I update mysql database when posting form without using hidden inputs?

    I have a "members" table in mysql which has approximately 200 field names. Each user is given up to 7 website templates with 26 different values they can insert unique data into for each template. Each time they create a template, they post the form with the 26 associated values. These 26 field names are the same for each template, but are differentiated by an integer at the end, ie _1, _2, ... _7. In the form submitting the template, I have a variable called $pid_sum which is inserted at the end of each field name to identify which template they are creating. Is there a PHP function or command that would enable me to update all these values without inserting 175 hidden input tags within each form post?   • How do I remove database name from SQL Server generated script?

    Anytime I use 'script table as' - 'Insert To' (or other command), the script generated automatically places the database name in the script. Such as: INSERT INTO [DatabaseName].[dbo].[tblToBeInserted] ... While not a huge problem to just delete it, it has slipped by a few times and the script breaks if run on a different server with a different database name but has the same schema. (Such as running on [DatabaseName.Test]) Is there an option I can change, or can I modify the output in any way to remove this?

Update I have found another difference. Symbolic Link - Link's permissions only affect delete/rename operations on the link itself, read/write access (to the target) is governed by the target's permissions Junction - Junction's permissions affect enumeration, revoking permissions on the junction will deny file listing through that junction, even if the target folder has more permissive ACLs The permissions make it interesting, as symlinks can allow legacy applications to access configuration files in UAC-restricted areas (such as %ProgramFiles%) without changing existing access permissions, by storing the files in a non-restricted location and creating symlinks in the restricted directory.

  • CentOS RPM database trashed, "rpm --rebuilddb" won't fix, can I recover using /var/lib/rpm/ from a 2

    My RPM database is shot, neither rpm or yum works. Supposedly "rpm --rebuilddb" will fix it, but it doesn't in my case. This server has three sister servers that are basically identical, and have working RPM databases. I tried copying /var/lib/rpm/ from working server to the sick one, but that didn't fix it. Any ideas of how I can use good server's rpm to fix the sick one?
