  • Code examples for a wallpaper app?

    I would like to write a C# app that runs like an overlay on the desktop wallpaper. Similar to the way that desktop widgets or Rainmeter(rainmeter.net) runs; behind other apps but on top of the desktop wallpaper. I cannot find any C# examples of this kind of behavior.     Am trying to use something like: $newdata = preg_replace($pattern, $replacement, $data); Now my replacement is something like $pattern = "/START(.*?)END/is"; $replacement = "START $config END"; Now, $config contains contents like array('Test\\\'s Page') The problem is that after I write the content, $newdata becomes START array('Test\\'s Page') END As you see above a single \ goes missing because it gets evaluated. How do I avoid that?

For a little bit I thought a grid was the new thing and the best, now it appears I am wrong after all and not sure of best practice. And, yes, I can write my own CSS but didn't want to create the infrastructure if I didn't have to.

Ofcourse i can write code which check returned value on null reference but then code will be overly verbose. What is graceful way to do that?

    I'm trying to write a script in Greasemonkey that will replace a link's target with something else, but with my limited Javascript knowledge I don't really know how to do this. Basically I'm trying to find all links containing a certain string of characters (ex: //a[contains(@href, 'xx')] ), and either replace them with another link, or append something to them (replacing 'abc123.com' with 'zyx987.com' or 'abc123.com' with 'abc123.com/folder'). If you could point me on the right path I'd greatly appreciate it.
