  • Accessing property file through batch script

    - by Farid
Hi everyone, I'm trying to write a batch script, this script is responsible to launch a jar with one parameters. This parameter indicate to my jar wich property file to use in order to setup some configuration. Then the script will zip the results produced by the jar and send them to a location. But in order to set the name of the zip file I would need to be able to read the property file directly from the batch, is there a way to do so ? Thanks and regards, F

  • How to extract the word and line wrapping information from JTextArea for text with given font

    - by Gábor Lipták
I have to convert styled text to wrapped simple text (for SVG word wrapping). I cannot beleive that the word wrapping information (how many lines are there, where are the line breaks) cannot be extracted from the JTextArea. So I created a small frame program: package bla; import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Font; import java.awt.Frame; import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter; import java.awt.event.WindowEvent; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import javax.swing.JTextArea; public class Example1 extends WindowAdapter { private static String content = "01234567890123456789\n" + "0123456 0123456 01234567 01234567"; JTextArea text; public Example1() { Frame f = new Frame("TextArea Example"); f.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); Font font = new Font("Serif", Font.ITALIC, 20); text = new JTextArea(); text.setFont(font); text.setForeground(Color.blue); text.setLineWrap(true); text.setWrapStyleWord(true); f.add(text, BorderLayout.CENTER); text.setText(content); // Listen for the user to click the frame's close box f.addWindowListener(this); f.setSize(100, 511); f.show(); } public static List<String> getLines( JTextArea text ) { //WHAT SHOULD I WRITE HERE return new ArrayList<String>(); } public void windowClosing(WindowEvent evt) { List<String> lines = getLines(text); System.out.println( "Number of lines:" + lines.size()); for (String line : lines) { System.out.println( line ); } System.exit(0); } public static void main(String[] args) { Example1 instance = new Example1(); } } If you run it you will see this: And what I expect as output: Number of lines:6 0123456789 0123456789 0123456 0123456 01234567 01234567 What should I write in place of the comment?

  • Using Entity Framework (code first) migrations in production

    - by devdigital
I'm just looking into using EF migrations for our project, and in particular for performing schema changes in production between releases. I can see that generating SQL (delta) script files is an option, but is there no way of running the migrations programmatically on app start up? Will I instead need to add each delta script to the solution and write my own framework to apply them in order (from the current version to the latest) on bootstrap?

  • union on the same table

    - by StupidDeveloper
    I have a table: ID | Id1 | Id2 1 | 100 | 12 2 | 196 | 140 3 | 196 | 141 4 | 150 | 140 5 | 150 | 199 I want to write a query that will give me a table containing records with the same ID2 and with id1 equal to 196 or 150. I thought about union: select * from table where itemId = 196 union select * from table where itemId = 150 but that doesn't cover the ID2 requirement. How should I do that?

  • Does mprotect flush the instruction cache on ARM Linux?

    - by Adam Goode
I am writing a JIT on ARM Linux that executes an instruction set that contains self-modifying code. The instruction set does not have any cache flush instructions (similar to x86 in that respect). If I write out some code to a page and then call mprotect on that page, is that sufficient to invalidate the instruction cache? Or do I also need to use the cacheflush syscall on those pages?

  • Port Flash to iPhone

    - by LaGrad
How hard would it be to port a flash game to the iPhone. Obviously Flash CS5 is no longer an options, I still would like to know if there's anything that can be reused? or do I have to write everything from scratch (Is Obj-C that different than ActionScript?) Is there any other shortcuts? Also, if anyone has done this before please share your experience.

  • Invoke Python modules from Java

    - by user36813
I have a Python interface of a graph library written in C - igraph (the name of library). My need is to invoke the python modules pertaining to this graph library from Java code. It goes like this, the core of library is in c. This core has been imported into Python and interfaces to the functions embedded in core are available in Python. My project's rest of the code is in Java and hence I would like to call the graph functions by Java as well. Jython - which lets you invoke python modules with in Java was an option.I went on trying Jython to discover that it will not work in my case as the core code is in C and Jython wont support anything that is imported as a c dll in python code.I also thought of opting for the approach of calling graph routines directly in c. That is without passing through Python code. I am assuming there must be something which lets you call c code from Java, how ever I am not good in C hence I did not go for it. My last resort seems to execute Python interpreter from command line using Java. But that is a dirty and shameless. Also to deal with the results produced by Python code I will have to write the results in a file and read it back in java. Again dirty way. Is there something that any one can suggest me? Thanks to every one giving time. Thanks Igal for answering. I had a look at it. At first glance it appears as if it is simply calling the python script. Jep jep = new Jep(false, SCRIPT_PATH, cl); jep.set("query", query); jep.runScript(SCRIPT_PATH + file); jep.close(); Isnt it very similar to what we would do if called the python interpreter from command line through a Java code. Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime(); Process proc = runtime.exec("python test.py"); Concern is how do I use the results generated by Python script. The naive way is to write them to file and read it back in Java. I am searching for a smarter approach. Thanks for suggestion anyway.

  • Coding without Grock. Is it wrong?

    - by OldCurmudgeon
Should a professional programmer allow themselves to write code without completely understanding the requirements? In my 30+ years as a programmer I must have written many thousands of lines of code without completely understanding what is required of me at the time. In most cases the results were rubbish that should have been discarded. Every other industry that employs professionals has systems to root out such behavior. Ours does not. Is this right?

  • Mathematica equivalent of Ruby's inject

    - by Ben Alpert
Is there a Mathematica function like inject in Ruby? For example, if I want the product of the elements in a list, in Ruby I can write: list.inject(1) { |prod,el| prod * el } I found I can just use Product in Mathematica: Apply[Product, list] However, this isn't general enough for me (like, if I don't just want the product or sum of the numbers). What's the closest equivalent to inject?
