• Wyse Simple Imager. Unable to Create Product Directory

  I am trying to submit a post on www.technicalhelp.de, but I receive an error: Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form. This happens if I delete temporary internet files and log out and back in, and if I use a different browser, and if I use a proxy browser. Perhaps someone on this forum can help I am trying to push a Wyse device image to a USB thumb drive. The image is on a remote server, and the thumb drive is connected to my desktop PC. I am using Wyse Simple Imager to do this. When I select the following: Product: V90 Image Version: 5.010627.512 Image File: \servername\folder\OLD_Rapport\V90-withusb\9V90.i2d Almost instantly, without attempting any action, I receive the message: WyseImager Unable to Create Product Directory. Add Image Failed I have completely formatted the USB drive with FAT32. It is new out of the fox, and I can create folders in it. How do I fix this?

• Can't remove software - Installed in NULL

  I've installed software to our administration machine. The problem is that i cannot start the software or uninstall it, as it is not in any directory on the machine. I tried to install it at /pack/CST/... but it is not there and a locate on CST or cst returns nothing. The software is installed from a DVD and not a repository. I've tried to reboot the machine, as i thought i might had something to do with the software being loaded in some sort of tmpfs but that didn't help. I've looked through the entire /etc to check for any relations to the software, but unsuccessfully. I'm out of ideas, to what can cause this problem, anyone got any ideas?? EDIT: I downloaded the iso wich i mounted with: sudo mount -o loop /path/to/iso.iso /path/to/mountpoint sudo /path/to/mountpoint/install.sh Ran the install GUI via an X-session. I choose to install the software in /pack/CST/... but when it exited it said that the software had been installed to /tmp/... There was nothing in tmp, so i decided to reboot the machine and did a full find to see if there was anything left of the software, removed what looked like it could be related. It had placed a script in all the /etc/rs* folder which I removed with: sudo update-rc.d -f scriptname -r I rebooted the machine again, just to be sure. When i run the installer again, it tells me that the software is installed in NULL and i have to remove before installing it. /pack/ is a mountpoint for /q/system/pack What i expected was that the software would be installed in /pack/CST, but it seems to be lock in the system, but I am unable to locate where.

• Cant get sub-domain created by Plesk working

  Apache 2.2 CentOS Plesk 9.x I am using Plesk to manage my domain names on my virtual host.and GoDaddy for DNS I have created a new sub-domain blog using Plesk. I can see the httpd.include for example.com has a new virtualhost entry - blog.example.com I can also see folders have been created for the subdomain blog vhost\example.com folder But when I try to go to blog.example.com in the browser- I get an error - basically the host is not getting resolved. My site - example.com is working fine otherwise Any idea what could I be missing ? I did try restarting the apache web server as well

• Giving SSH access to a user, and security issues.

  Okay, so I have a VPS and I made an account for a friend so he can host his own domains (using the reseller features in DirectAdmin). He's asking for SSH access, and I know that this is probably a bad idea. Does he have access to my whole server, such as executing commands, accessing my domains that I host on my server? I logged into my SSH using his account details and it let me navigate around all of the root folders/files, and his account is under /home/AccountName/. Is there anyway to restrict his access to his folder only? And the commands he can use?

• Manage gmail label on iPad

  My iPad is configured with gmail (using an exchange account, not imap but I don't think it is relevant). I would like to create and manage folder in the mail app. I noticed that it is sync to my gmail label. - this feature is not possible in the native mail app, neither in the official gmail app - the only way to do it is to use a pc or a mac (with the gmail desktop version) - in the gmail mobile web version, I cannot find any button to force desktop version. What is the simplest workaround?

  I need a way to automate the following process in Windows 7: Open an .html file in Internet Explorer Print to PDF Save the PDF with a patterned file name (i.e., original_name_YYYY-MM-DD.pdf) Ideally, I could drag and drop several files or open a whole folder of files at once and a PDF would be created for each one. A command line solution is also acceptable. The files have to be opened in the browser because parts of the page are rendered with JavaScript on page load. In other words, if you simply right-click on the file in Explorer and choose "print", the resulting file is not the same because the JS didn't run. If it helps, Internet Explorer can be set as the default browser, and a PDF printer can be set as the default printer.

  I recently bought a new ADATA external Classic hard drive 500GB. I have transferred around 29GB of data on it till I install my new windows 7 operating system. After some work with the hard drive (copying / deleting ... files) . I closed it for some reason and it couldn't open again asking me to format. I don't want to format the hard drive, I have important data I need...Is there a way I can retrieve my data. Is Recover My Files program from GetData a right choice??? part 2 of my question: why might such thing happen (require format to open), is it the hard drive problem or is it just a corrupted file or folder...??? • Problem deleting files in Windows 7

  Happens sometimes but frequently enough to be a pain in the bum. I press Del or Shift + Del but the file stays there. Then when I try to delete it again, it says that I need permission from the Admin. For it to be deleted, usually I have to restart my computer List of things I've tried: I have admin privileges Hasn't happened since I reinstalled Windows and another form of this happened in my install before the last one I tried takeown in cmd but it says ERROR: Access is denied The files sometimes disappear by themselves after 2 mins or so Refreshing the folder doesn't do anything Unlocker doesn't work either. • Can't see CMD.EXE on Windows 7

  I have a problem with Windows 7 and cmd.exe with these conditions: Logon as non admin user Launch cmd.exe I can see cmd.exe in task manager but it's invisible in the desktop and I don't know what to do, everything is fine and I can see cmd.exe if I do login with an admin account. I can see it in the "Process" tab but not in the "Application" tab, and if I launch five cmd.exe's, I see five processes, but from that tab I have no "Bring to front" or "Maximise" I can't find any WOW folder under C:\Windows, even with show hidden and system files enabled. I'm running Windows 7 32-bit running on a 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo E7500

• NFS mount of /var/www to OS X

  I have spent 2 hours trying to create an NFS mount from my Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server to my OS X desktop system. Objective: three way file compare between the code base on the Mac, the development system on the local Linux test system, and the hosted website. The hosted service uses cpanel so I can mount a webdisk - easy as pie - took 10 seconds. The local Ubuntu box, on the other hand - nothing but pain and frustration. Here is what I have tried: In File Browser, navigate to /var/www/site and right-click. Select share this folder. Enter sharename wwwsite and a comment. Click button "Create Share". Message says - you can only share file systems you own. There is a message on how to fix this, but the killer is that this is sharing by SMB. It will change the LFs to CR-LFs which will affect the file comparison. So forget this option. In a terminal window, run shares-admin (I have not been able to convince it to give me the "Shared Folders" option in the System Administration window - Maybe it is somewhere else in the menu, but I cannot find it) define an NFS export. Enter the path /var/www/site, select NFS enter the ip address of the iMac and save. On the mac, try to mount the file system using the usual methods - finder, command line "mount" command - not found. Nothing. Tried restarting the linux box in case there is a daemon that needs restarting - nothing. So I have run out of stuff to do. I have tried searching the documentation - it is pretty basic. The man page documentation is as opaque as ever. Please, oh please, will someone help me to get this @38&@^# thing to work! Thanks for reading this far... PG.

  Before I pose my question, I will give some insight as per my scenario: I work for a small business (cost is an important factor) Our bandwidth is limited and would not support an in-house FTP server We need to share files (mostly pdf, inDesign, Illustrator documents) to our clients, and as we expand, we are finding that our current locally-hosted FTP solution is too slow and is becoming a detriment to our sales team. What we need is a remotely hosted solution to share files with our clients, specifically with the following features: Greater than 100gb of secure storage The Ability to distribute unique log in credentials to clients, granting access to a personalized directory or folder, while limiting access to other files on the server. A relatively simple web-based UI for clients with limited computer knowledge We have considered a dedicated remote server, and web-based services (box.net, yousendit.com, onehub.com, filesanywhere.com) but I am unsure as per the direction we should be taking - have I left another solution out? • Why do mapped drives only reappear after logging out and back in, and not after a reboot?

  I work in a corporate environment, where we use mostly Windows 7 Professional computers, though some legacy applications are still being run on Windows XP. We have security in place on the network not to allow access to network resources to computers that are not members of Active Directory. When logging in, our users get their home folder and a common network drive mapped to H: and F:, respectively. Sometimes, this does not happen, and the drives are not mapped. The solution is to have the user log off, and back in to Windows. If they reboot, the drives remain unmapped. Does anyone know why this may be?

Now run it and see this will work.   After run this you will see that WebGrease Dll have a version number issue. Simply update it to version 1.5.2 and now you have ready your project to run it in .net 4. If you do bin deployment then you don’t need to have installed MVC 4 on server either. Remember that MVC 5 is based on .net 4.5 which simply means you can’t run it in VS10. until VS12 update 4 MVC 5 cshtml page will be work as simple html pages (syntax highlighting and intellisense).   Is it possible with rsync to not create directories on destination? Imagine I have that source : a/ a/x.txt b/ b/y.txt And that I have this destination : a/ a/z.txt The wanted result of rsync source destination : a/ a/x.txt a/z.txt Of course my real situation involves thousand files/folders structure and I don't want solutions involving explicit list of synced folders, which I can do. I'm looking for a clean way just to prevent any folder creation on destination. By exclude or filtering... That could even be something outside rsync, like a hack with permissions if rsync can't do this... For information, this is really easy to get this kind of situations, in my case I have: A server with 2 disks, let's say A & B. And a local drive C. I usually use rsync to sync (and merge) remote A & B into local C. Then sometimes I just want to sync back some C files into A and B. (Just new Files... not non-existing folders on destination)

What's the difference between checking "Full Control" and just checking all the other boxes individually? Are there hidden/advanced permissions toggled by "Full Control" that aren't listed in the main permissions window? Is "Full Control" just a convenience shortcut?

When I right click an empty space in a folder and select 'New', I would like to create an .mdb file instead of .accdb. I've managed to remove the "New Access Database" that created a new .accdb file, but I can't find how to create a context menu item to make a new .mdb file. • time on files differ by 1 sec. FAIL Robocopy sync

  I am trying to use Robocopy to sync (/IMG) a folder on my PC and a shared network drive. The problem is that the file attributes differ by 1 sec on both locations (creation,modified and access). So every time I run robocopy, it syncs the file again... BTW, problem is the same if I delete the target file and robocopy it from new... still, new file has 1 sec different properties. Env Details: Source: Win 7 64 bit Target: WD My Book World Edition NAS 1TB which takes its time from online NTP pool.ntp.org (I don't know if file system is FAT or not)

• Not recognized as operating system on startup

  I am new to Ubuntu and just decided to install it in (on my new lenovo thinkpad) in addition to my windows 7 operating system. Now, whenever I reboot the computer, it only runs window 7. I went (in windows) to Control Pannel ? System ? Advanced Settings ? Startup and Ubuntu is not even listed as a choice for operating system. I tried installing ubuntu again, but now it wants to partition the already partitioned windows folder. I can't figure out how to get Ubuntu, which seems to be installed, to run. I saw on another question here that I could be able to edit my mrb settings using EasyBCD but I can not figure out how to choose ubuntu as an operating system. My disk is already partitioned (seen from the attempted second install) so I'm pretty sure it is on the disk. Basically, how can I get ubuntu to run when I can't choose it as an operating system? Thank you for your help.

• Windows Explorer - How can an large file have a zero "Size on disk" value? What does it mean

  I would expect some discrepancy between "Size" and "Size on disk" in Windows Explorer due to file system allocations etc. Below is a screenshot of an example file on a Windows 2012 R2 file server that has a 81.4 MB "Size" but for the "Size on disk" it's 0 bytes. What gives? I have other files doing the same, but yet another set of files and folders behaving as expected showing the size on disk relatively close to the actual file size. The volume is a basic disk, formatted with NTFS and the default 4K allocation units. No compression is set for any file or folder on the volume. (For those more paranoid, I did a malware scan, and also confirmed there is not ADS streams associated with the file in question). The user account running Windows Explorer is the domain administrator, and the file owner is also the domain administrator. Thanks for reading!

  I have weird problem with copying files. When I copy file from network drive into C drive nothing happens but when I copy file from network drive to desktop I can copy the file. Also if I copy files from desktop into C it works fine. I have full local admin permission on this PC and the network drive.   I seem to have this use-case quite often: Send a mail to A, with B and C in cc Realize you forgot to say something in the mail. You now want to send a 'reply mail' (including your original mail as quotation) to A, with B and C in cc. To do that: go to the 'Sent mails' folder, and press the 'Reply all' button Problem: Now you have yourself in the 'To:' field, and A, B and C in the cc fields. Question: Is there a better way (maybe an extension?) to do step 4, and correctly have A in the To: field, and B and C in cc.
