  • Is it possible to run my Windows Form application in Windows CE platform?

    - by Fakhrul
    I am new in Windows CE development and never done it yet. Need some advise from the expert in here. In our current project, we are developing a client-server application. The client side is using a windows form application that are base on Windows XP OS while the server is a web base application. This question are related to the client application (Windows Form). This application are using Sql Server Express Edition for data storage. The data is stored in XML object format. It also can transfer a data from client to server via web service. It also interact with hardware such as Magnetic Stripe Reader, Contactless Smart Card Reader, and a thermal printer. Most of the communication between hardware device and systems are base on Serial Port. It is use standard app.config for the configuration and is a multi threaded application. There is a new requirement to use a Handheld device which is use a Windows CE platform. This handheld included the required equipment such as Contactless Smart Card Reader, Printer and Magnetic Stripe Reader. Instead of developing a new client application, is it possible to me to convert my current application that are base on Windows XP to Windows CE? If yes, how can I do that? If no, is it any other brilliant suggestion to do this? Thanks in advance. Software Engineer

  • jQuery Validate plugin - password check - minimum requirements - Regex

    - by QviXx
    I've got a little problem with my password-checker. There's got a registration form with some fields. I use jQuery Validate plugin to validate user-inputs. It all works except the password-validation: The password should meet some minimum requirements: minimum length: 8 - I just use 'minlength: 8' at least one lower-case character at least one digit Allowed Characters: A-Z a-z 0-9 @ * _ - . ! At the moment I use this code to validate the password: $.validator.addMethod("pwcheck", function(value, element) { return /^[A-Za-z0-9\d=!\-@._*]+$/.test(value); }); This Code works for the allowed characters but not for minimum requirements. I know that you can use for example (?=.*[a-z]) for a lower-case-requirement. But I just don't get it to work. If I add (?=.*[a-z]) the whole code doesn't work anymore. I need to know how to properly add the code to the existing one. Thank you for your answers! This is the complete code <script> $(function() { $("#regform").validate({ rules: { forename: { required: true }, surname: { required: true }, username: { required: true }, password: { required: true, pwcheck: true, minlength: 8 }, password2: { required: true, equalTo: "#password" }, mail1: { required: true, email: true }, mail2: { required: true, equalTo: "#mail1" } }, messages: { forename: { required: "Vornamen angeben" }, surname: { required: "Nachnamen angeben" }, username: { required: "Usernamen angeben" }, password: { required: "Passwort angeben", pwcheck: "Das Passwort entspricht nicht den Kriterien!", minlength: "Das Passwort entspricht nicht den Kriterien!" }, password2: { required: "Passwort wiederholen", equalTo: "Die Passwörter stimmen nicht überein" }, mail1: { required: "Mail-Adresse angeben", email: "ungültiges Mail-Format" }, mail2: { required: "Mail-Adresse wiederholen", equalTo: "Die Mail-Adressen stimmen nicht überein" } } }); $.validator.addMethod("pwcheck", function(value, element) { return /^[A-Za-z0-9\d=!\-@._*]+$/.test(value); }); }); </script>

  • Understanding byte order and functions like CFSwapInt32HostToBig

    - by Typeoneerror
    I've got an enumeration in my game. A simple string message with an appended PacketType is being sent with the message (so it knows what to do with the message) over GameKit WIFI connection. I used Apple's GKRocket sample code as a starting point. The code itself is working fantastically; I just want to understand what the line with CFSwapInt32HostToBig is doing. What on earth does that do? and why does it need to do it? My guess is that it's making sure the PacketType value can be converted to an unsigned integer so it can send it reliably, but that doesn't sound all that correct to me. The documentation states "Converts a 32-bit integer from big-endian format to the host’s native byte order." but I don't understand what the means really. typedef enum { PacketTypeStart, // packet to notify games to start PacketTypeRequestSetup, // server wants client info PacketTypeSetup, // send client info to server PacketTypeSetupComplete, // round trip made for completion PacketTypeTurn, // packet to notify game that a turn is up PacketTypeRoll, // packet to send roll to players PacketTypeEnd // packet to end game } PacketType; // .... - (void)sendPacket:(NSData *)data ofType:(PacketType)type { NSLog(@"sendPacket:ofType(%d)", type); // create the data with enough space for a uint NSMutableData *newPacket = [NSMutableData dataWithCapacity:([data length]+sizeof(uint32_t))]; // Data is prefixed with the PacketType so the peer knows what to do with it. uint32_t swappedType = CFSwapInt32HostToBig((uint32_t)type); // add uint to data [newPacket appendBytes:&swappedType length:sizeof(uint32_t)]; // add the rest of the data [newPacket appendData:data]; // Send data checking for success or failure NSError *error; BOOL didSend = [_gkSession sendDataToAllPeers:newPacket withDataMode:GKSendDataReliable error:&error]; if (!didSend) { NSLog(@"error in sendDataToPeers: %@", [error localizedDescription]); } }

  • XSLT Global count of grouped items

    - by Chris
    Hi there, I have a set of items which i am grouping using the muenchian method using keys. This is working great however when i try to do things with the first x number of items it is doing it on the x number of items in each group rather than across the whole set of results. How would i get the individual position of each item accross the whole collection? <xsl:key name="pictures-by-productid" match="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row" use="@ProductId" /> <xsl:template match="/"> <div style="border:1px solid red; float:left;"> <xsl:apply-templates select="/" mode="sub"> </xsl:apply-templates> </div> </xsl:template> and the second template <xsl:template match="/" mode="sub"> <xsl:for-each select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[count(. | key('pictures-by-productid', @ProductId)[1]) = 1]"> <xsl:for-each select="key('pictures-by-productid', @ProductId)"> <xsl:sort select="@PictureType" /> <div style="float:left; margin:2px;"> <img src="{@ThumbNailUrl}" width="58" /> <br /> Download <xsl:number value="position()" format="1.   • MS Access: Why is ADODB.Recordset.BatchUpdate so much slower than Application.ImportXML?

    - by apenwarr
    I'm trying to run the code below to insert a whole lot of records (from a file with a weird file format) into my Access 2003 database from VBA. After many, many experiments, this code is the fastest I've been able to come up with: it does 10000 records in about 15 seconds on my machine. At least 14.5 of those seconds (ie. almost all the time) is in the single call to UpdateBatch. I've read elsewhere that the JET engine doesn't support UpdateBatch. So maybe there's a better way to do it. Now, I would just think the JET engine is plain slow, but that can't be it. After generating the 'testy' table with the code below, I right clicked it, picked Export, and saved it as XML. Then I right clicked, picked Import, and reloaded the XML. Total time to import the XML file? Less than one second, ie. at least 15x faster. Surely there's an efficient way to insert data into Access that doesn't require writing a temp file? Sub TestBatchUpdate() CurrentDb.Execute "create table testy (x int, y int)" Dim rs As New ADODB.Recordset rs.CursorLocation = adUseServer rs.Open "testy", CurrentProject.AccessConnection, _ adOpenStatic, adLockBatchOptimistic, adCmdTableDirect Dim n, v n = Array(0, 1) v = Array(50, 55) Debug.Print "starting loop", Time For i = 1 To 10000 rs.AddNew n, v Next i Debug.Print "done loop", Time rs.UpdateBatch Debug.Print "done update", Time CurrentDb.Execute "drop table testy" End Sub I would be willing to resort to C/C++ if there's some API that would let me do fast inserts that way. But I can't seem to find it. It can't be that Application.ImportXML is using undocumented APIs, can it?

  • Copy folders when copying list items from source to destination

    - by iHeartDucks
    Hi, This is my code to copy files in a list from source to destination. Using the code below I am only able to copy files but not folders. Any ideas on how can I copy the folders and the files within those folders? using (SPSite objSite = new SPSite(URL)) { using (SPWeb objWeb = objSite.OpenWeb()) { SPList objSourceList = null; SPList objDestinationList = null; try { objSourceList = objWeb.Lists["Source"]; } catch(Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine("Error opening source list"); Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } try { objDestinationList = objWeb.Lists["Destination"]; } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine("Error opening destination list"); Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } string ItemURL = string.Empty; if (objSourceList != null && objDestinationList != null) { foreach (SPListItem objSourceItem in objSourceList.Items) { ItemURL = string.Format(@"{0}/Destination/{1}", objDestinationList.ParentWeb.Url, objSourceItem.Name); objSourceItem.CopyTo(ItemURL); objSourceItem.UnlinkFromCopySource(); } } } } Thanks

  • .post inside jQuery.validator.addMethod always returns false :(

    - by abdullah kahraman
    Hello! I am very new to jQuery and javascript programming. I have a program below that checks whether username is taken or not. For now, the PHP script always returns if(isset($_POST["username"]) )//&& isset($_POST["checking"])) { $xml="<register><message>Available</message></register>"; echo $xml; } Login function works, but username checking doesn't. Any ideas? Here is all of my code: $(document).ready(function() { jQuery.validator.addMethod("checkAvailability",function(value,element){ $.post( "login.php" , {username:"test", checking:"yes"}, function(xml){ if($("message", xml).text() == "Available") return true; else return false; }); },"Sorry, this user name is not available"); $("#loginForm").validate({ rules: { username: { required: true, minlength: 4, checkAvailability: true }, password:{ required: true, minlength: 5 } }, messages: { username:{ required: "You need to enter a username." , minlength: jQuery.format("Your username should be at least {0} characters long.") } }, highlight: function(element, errorClass) { $(element).fadeOut("fast",function() { $(element).fadeIn("slow"); }) }, success: function(x){ x.text("OK!") }, submitHandler: function(form){send()} }); function send(){ $("#message").hide("fast"); $.post( "login.php" , {username:$("#username").val(), password:$("#password").val()}, function(xml){ $("#message").html( $("message", xml).text() ); if($("message", xml).text() == "You are successfully logged in.") { $("#message").css({ "color": "green" }); $("#message").fadeIn("slow", function(){location.reload(true);}); } else { $("#message").css({ "color": "red" }); $("#message").fadeIn("slow"); } }); } $("#newUser").click(function(){ return false; }); });

  • Backing up my locally hosted rails apps in preparation for OS upgrade

    - by stephen murdoch
    I have some apps running on Heroku. I will be upgrading my OS in two weeks. The last time I upgraded though (6 months ago) I ran into some problems. Here's what I did: copied all my rails apps onto DVD upgraded OS transferred rails apps from DVD to new OS Then, after setting up new SSH-keys I tried to push to some of my heroku apps and, whilst I can't remember the exact error message off-hand, it more or less amounted to "fatal exception the remote end hung up" So I know that I'm doing something wrong here. First of all, is there any need for me to be putting my heroku hosted rails apps onto DVD? Would I be better just pulling all my apps from their heroku repos once I've done the upgrade? What do others do here? The reason I stuck them on DVD is because I tend to push a specific production branch to Heroku and sometimes omit large development files from it... Secondly, was this problem caused by SSH keys? Should I have backed up the old keys and transferred them from my old OS to my new one too, or is Heroku perfectly happy to let you change OS's like that? My solution in the end was to just create new heroku apps and reassign the custom domain names in heroku add-ons menu... I never actually though of pulling from the heroku repos as I tend to push a specific branch to heroku and that branch doesn't always have all the development files in it... I realise that the error message I mentioned doesn't particularly help anyone but I didn't think to remember it 6 months ago. Any advice would be appreciated PS - when I say upgrade, I mean full install of the new version with full format of the HDD.

  • Delphi: Fast(er) widestring concatenation

    - by Ian Boyd
    i have a function who's job is to convert an ADO Recordset into html: class function RecordsetToHtml(const rs: _Recordset): WideString; And the guts of the function involves a lot of wide string concatenation: while not rs.EOF do begin Result := Result+CRLF+ '<TR>'; for i := 0 to rs.Fields.Count-1 do Result := Result+'<TD>'+VarAsString(rs.Fields[i].Value)+'</TD>'; Result := Result+'</TR>'; rs.MoveNext; end; With a few thousand results, the function takes, what any user would feel, is too long to run. The Delphi Sampling Profiler shows that 99.3% of the time is spent in widestring concatenation (@WStrCatN and @WstrCat). Can anyone think of a way to improve widestring concatenation? i don't think Delphi 5 has any kind of string builder. And Format doesn't support Unicode. And to make sure nobody tries to weasel out: pretend you are implementing the interface: IRecordsetToHtml = interface(IUnknown) function RecordsetToHtml(const rs: _Recordset): WideString; end; Update One I thought of using an IXMLDOMDocument, to build up the HTML as xml. But then i realized that the final HTML would be xhtml and not html - a subtle, but important, difference. • Need MySQL RLIKE expression to exclude certain strings ending in particular characters...

    - by user299508
    So I've been working with RLIKE to pull some data in a new application and mostly enjoying it. To date I've been using RLIKE queries to return 3 types of results (files, directories and everything). The queries (and example results) follow: **All**: SELECT * FROM public WHERE obj_owner_id='test' AND obj_namespace RLIKE '^user/test/public/[-0-9a-z_./]+$' ORDER BY obj_namespace user/test/public/a-test/.comment user/test/public/a-test/.delete user/test/public/directory/ user/test/public/directory/image.jpg user/test/public/index user/test/public/site-rip user/test/public/site-rip2 user/test/public/test-a user/test/public/widget-test **Files**: SELECT * FROM public WHERE obj_owner_id='test' AND obj_namespace RLIKE '^user/test/public/[-0-9a-z_./]+[-0-9a-z_.]+$' ORDER BY obj_namespace user/test/public/a-test/.comment user/test/public/a-test/.delete user/test/public/directory/image.jpg user/test/public/index user/test/public/site-rip user/test/public/site-rip2 user/test/public/test-a user/test/public/widget-test **Directories**: SELECT * FROM public WHERE obj_owner_id='test' AND obj_namespace RLIKE '^user/test/public/[-0-9a-z_./]+/$' ORDER BY obj_namespace user/test/public/directory/ This works well for the above 3 basic scenarios but under certain situations I'll be including special 'suffixes' I'd like to be excluded from the results of queries (without having to resort to PHP functions to do it). A good example of such a string would be: user/test/public/a-test/.delete That data (there are more rows then just obj_namespace) is considered deleted and in the Files and All type queries I'd like it to be omitted within the expression if possible. Same goes for the /.comments and all such meta data will always be in the same format: /.[sometext] I'd hoped to use this feature extensively throughout my application, so I'm hoping there might be a very simple answer. (crosses fingers) Anyway, thanks as always for any/all responses and feedback.

  • Wordpress thumbnail creation question

    - by Will Ashworth
    I'm trying to use Wordpress' built-in thumbnailing and image re-sizing in my Wordpress 2.9.2 installation. I'm trying to get various sizes (post listing/results 160x160 & "single.php" 618x150) and for some reason the single.php one works, but only half way. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. I have it working…sorta. I’m totally stuck and there seems to be a lack of documentation on the Codex for this feature so here goes. The small 160×160 thumbnail for article listings/search views works fine. It crops it, all’s groovy. The issue comes when I go to format the image for the single.php article details view. It crops, but then scales down even further for some reason. Screenshot: http://c1319072.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/4-15-2010%204-56-46%20PM.png NOTE: every time I re-test this I’m completely deleting the image from the media section and re-uploading the image entirely. I also have the re-create thumbnails plugin so I know it’s not caching. Here is my code included in "functions.php". This will help in debugging. add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ ); set_post_thumbnail_size( 160, 160, true ); // Normal post thumbnails add_image_size( ’single-post-thumbnail’, 618, 150, true ); // Permalink thumbnail size

  • Map element position in data file to class property

    - by Augusto
    I need to read/write files, following a format provided by a third party specification. The specification itself is pretty simple: it says the position and the size of the data that will be saved in the file. For example: Position Size Description -------------------------------------------------- 0001 10 Device serial number 0011 02 Hour 0013 02 Minute 0015 02 Second 0017 02 Day 0019 02 Month 0021 02 Year The list is very long, it has about 400 elements. But lots of them can be combined. For example, hour, minute, second, day, month and year can be combined in a single DateTime object. I've splitted the elements into about 4 categories, and created separeted classes for holding the data. So, instead of a big structure representing the data, I have some smaller classes. I've also created different classes for reading and writing the data. The problem is: how to map the positions in the file to the objects properties, so that I don't need to repeat the values in the reading/writing class? I could use some custom attributes and retrieve them via reflection. But since the code will be running on devices with small memory and processor, it would be nice to find another way. My current read code looks like this: public void Read() { DataFile dataFile = new DataFile(); // the arguments are: position, size dataFile.SerialNumber = ReadLong(1, 10); //... } Any ideas on this one? Thanks!

  • How to insert an Array/Objet into SQL (bestpractice)

    - by Jason
    I need to store three items as an array in a single column and be able to quickly/easily modify that data in later functions. [---YOU CAN SKIP THIS PART IF YOU TRUST ME--] To be clear, I love and use x_ref tables all the time but an x_ref doesn't work here because this is not a one-to-many relationship. I am making a project management tool that among other things, assigns a user to a project and assigns hours to that project on a weekly basis, per user, sometimes for weeks many weeks into the future. Of course there are many projects, a project can have many team members, a team member can be involved with many projects at one time BUT its not one-to-many because a team member can be working many weeks on the same project but have different hours for different weeks. In other words, each object really is unique. Also/finally, this data can be changed at any time by any team-member - hence it needs to be easily to manipulate. Basically, I need to handle three values (the team member, the week we're talking about, and how many hours) dropped into a project row in the projects table (under the column for project team members) and treated as one item - a team member - that will actually be part of a larger array of all the team members involved on the project. [--END SKIP, START READING HERE :) --] So assuming that the application's general schema and relation tables aren't total crap and that we are in fact up against a wall in this one case to use an array/object as a value for this column, is there a best practice for that? Like a particular SQL data-type? A particular object/array format? CSV? JSON? XML? Most of the app is in C# but (for very odd reasons that I won't explain) we could really use any environment if there is a particular one that handles this well. For the moment, I am thinking either (webservice + JS/JSON) or PHP unserialize/serialize (but I am bit sketched out by the PHP solution because it seems a bit cumbersome when using ajax?) Thoughts anyone?

  • Tricky file parsing. Inconsistent Delimeters

    - by Ben Truby
    I need to parse a file with the following format. 0000000 ...ISBN.. ..Author.. ..Title.. ..Edit.. ..Year.. ..Pub.. ..Comments.. NrtlExt Nrtl Next Navg NQoH UrtlExt Urtl Uext Uavg UQoH ABS NEB MBS FOL ABE0001 0-679-73378-7 ABE WOMAN IN THE DUNES (INT'L ED) 1st 64 RANDOM 0.00 13.90 0.00 10.43 0 21.00 10.50 6.44 3.22 2 2.00 0.50 2.00 2.00 ABS The ID and ISBN are not a problem, the title is. There is no set length for these fields, and there are no solid delimiters- the space can be used for most of the file. Another issue is that there is not always an entry in the comments field. When there is, there are spaced within the content. So I can get the first two, and the last fourteen. I need some help figuring out how to parse the middle six fields. This file was generated by an older program that I cannot change. I am using php to parse this file.

  • how to know location of return address on stack c/c++

    - by Dr Deo
    i have been reading about a function that can overwrite its return address. void foo(const char* input) { char buf[10]; //What? No extra arguments supplied to printf? //It's a cheap trick to view the stack 8-) //We'll see this trick again when we look at format strings. printf("My stack looks like:\n%p\n%p\n%p\n%p\n%p\n% p\n\n"); //%p ie expect pointers //Pass the user input straight to secure code public enemy #1. strcpy(buf, input); printf("%s\n", buf); printf("Now the stack looks like:\n%p\n%p\n%p\n%p\n%p\n%p\n\n"); } It was sugggested that this is how the stack would look like Address of foo = 00401000 My stack looks like: 00000000 00000000 7FFDF000 0012FF80 0040108A <-- We want to overwrite the return address for foo. 00410EDE Question: -. Why did the author arbitrarily choose the second last value as the return address of foo()? -. Are values added to the stack from the bottom or from the top? apart from the function return address, what are the other values i apparently see on the stack? ie why isn't it filled with zeros Thanks.

  • Navigating to nodes using xpath in flat structure

    - by James Berry
    I have an xml file in a flat structure. We do not control the format of this xml file, just have to deal with it. I've renamed the fields because they are highly domain specific and don't really make any difference to the problem. <attribute name="Title">Book A</attribute> <attribute name="Code">1</attribute> <attribute name="Author"> <value>James Berry</value> <value>John Smith</value> </attribute> <attribute name="Title">Book B</attribute> <attribute name="Code">2</attribute> <attribute name="Title">Book C</attribute> <attribute name="Code">3</attribute> <attribute name="Author"> <value>James Berry</value> </attribute> Key things to note: the file is not particularly hierarchical. Books are delimited by an occurance of an attribute element with name='Title'. But the name='Author' attribute node is optional. Is there a simple xpath statement I can use to find the authors of book 'n'? It is easy to identify the title of book 'n', but the authors value is optional. And you can't just take the following author because in the case of book 2, this would give the author for book 3. I have written a state machine to parse this as a series of elements, but I can't help thinking there would have been a way to directly get the results that I want.

  • Best emailing approach with template emails

    - by Harun Baris Bulut
    Hi all, We are creating a project with lots of different mail templates in it. There are different messages for different purposes and we are trying to make the coding easy and understandable for the future. By the way we have different transport classes like e-mail, sms, twitter vs... Now we are doing this but I dont know if there is a better solution. We have a class called H2B_Message_Container_Mail_About_Blablabla it has 4 methods; interface H2B_Message_Mail_Interface { public function setName($name); public function setValue($key, $value); public function getMailBody(); public function getMailSubject(); } and in the mail body there are various variables as expected. before we send the mail, we get the variable values from the database with JSON format and decode it. Then we send it like; $mail = new H2B_Message_Mail(); $mail->setTemplate($newTemplate); $mail->send(); The question is; is there a better way to do this ?

  • What's a good way of building up a String given specific start and end locations?

    - by Michael Campbell
    (java 1.5) I have a need to build up a String, in pieces. I'm given a set of (sub)strings, each with a start and end point of where they belong in the final string. Was wondering if there were some canonical way of doing this. This isn't homework, and I can use any licensable OSS, such as jakarta commons-lang StringUtils etc. My company has a solution using a CharBuffer, and I'm content to leave it as is (and add some unit tests, of which there are none (?!)) but the code is fairly hideous and I would like something easier to read. As I said this isn't homework, and I don't need a complete solution, just some pointers to libraries or java classes that might give me some insight. The String.Format didn't seem QUITE right... I would have to honor inputs too long and too short, etc. Substrings would be overlaid in the order they appear (in case of overlap). As an example of input, I might have something like: String:start:end FO:0:3 (string shorter than field) BAR:4:5 (String larger than field) BLEH:5:9 (String overlays previous field) I'd want to end up with FO BBLEH 01234567890

  • Date formats in ActiveRecord / Rails 3

    - by cbmeeks
    In my model, I have a departure_date and a return_date. I am using a text_field instead of the date_select so that I can use the JQuery datepicker. My app is based in the US for now but I do hope to get international members. So basically this is what is happening. The user (US) types in a date such as 04/01/2010 (April 1st). Of course, MySQL stores it as a datetime such as 2010-04-01... Anyway, when the user goes to edit the date later on, it shows "01/04/2010" because I am using a strftime("%m/%d/%Y) which doesn't make sense....so it thinks it is January 4th instead of the original April 1st. It's like the only way to accurately store the data is for the user to type in: 2010-04-01 I hope all of this makes sense. What I am really after is a way for the user to type in (or use the datepicker) a date in their native format. So someone in Europe could type in 01/04/2010 for April 1st but someone in the US would type in 04/01/2010. Is there an easy, elegant solution to this? Thanks for any suggestions.

  • 3 index buffers

    - by bobobobo
    So, in both D3D and OpenGL there's ability to draw from an index buffer. The OBJ file format however does something weird. It specifies a bunch of vertices like: v -21.499660 6.424470 4.069845 v -25.117170 6.418100 4.068025 v -21.663851 8.282170 4.069585 v -21.651890 6.420180 4.068675 v -25.128481 8.281520 4.069585 Then it specifies a bunch of normals like.. vn 0.196004 0.558984 0.805680 vn -0.009523 0.210194 -0.977613 vn -0.147787 0.380832 -0.912757 vn 0.822108 0.567581 0.044617 vn 0.597037 0.057507 -0.800150 vn 0.809312 -0.045432 0.585619 Then it specifies a bunch of tex coords like vt 0.1225 0.5636 vt 0.6221 0.1111 vt 0.4865 0.8888 vt 0.2862 0.2586 vt 0.5865 0.2568 vt 0.1862 0.2166 THEN it specifies "faces" on the model like: f 1/2/5 2/3/7 8/2/6 f 5/9/7 6/3/8 5/2/1 So, in trying to render this with vertex buffers, In OpenGL I can use glVertexPointer, glNormalPointer and glTexCoordPointer to set pointers to each of the vertex, normal and texture coordinate arrays respectively.. but when it comes down to drawing with glDrawElements, I can only specify ONE set of indices, namely the indices it should use when visiting the vertices. Ok, then what? I still have 3 sets of indices to visit. In d3d its much the same - I can set up 3 streams: one for vertices, one for texcoords, and one for normals, but when it comes to using IDirect3DDevice9::DrawIndexedPrimitive, I can still only specify ONE index buffer, which will index into the vertices array. So, is it possible to draw from vertex buffers using different index arrays for each of the vertex, texcoord, and normal buffers (EITHER d3d or opengl!)

  • HELP with XML to XML transformation using XSLT.

    - by kaniths
    Am a rookie trying XSLT and XML tranformations for the first time. To start off, i tried a simple sample programs. I expected the Output in Tree format (maintaining the hierarchy) instead i just get " KING" in single line... What could be the problem? PS: I use XMLSpy. Any guideline would be great full. Thanks :) Input XML: <ROWSET> <ROW> <EMPNO>7839</EMPNO> <ENAME>KING</ENAME> </ROW> </ROWSET> XSL used for transformation: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="no"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <Invitation> <To> <xsl:value-of select="ROWSET/ROW/ENAME"/> </To> </Invitation> </xsl:template>

  • How can I get this dynamic WHERE statement in my LINQ-to-XML to work?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    In this question Jon Skeet offered a very interesting solution to making a LINQ-to-XML statement dynamic, but my knowledge of lambdas and delegates is not yet advanced enough to implement it: I've got it this far, but of course I get the error "smartForm does not exist in the current context": private void LoadWithId(int id) { XDocument xmlDoc = null; try { xmlDoc = XDocument.Load(FullXmlDataStorePathAndFileName); } catch (Exception ex) { throw new Exception(String.Format("Cannot load XML file: {0}", ex.Message)); } Func<XElement, bool> whereClause = (int)smartForm.Element("id") == id"; var smartForms = xmlDoc.Descendants("smartForm") .Where(whereClause) .Select(smartForm => new SmartForm { Id = (int)smartForm.Element("id"), WhenCreated = (DateTime)smartForm.Element("whenCreated"), ItemOwner = smartForm.Element("itemOwner").Value, PublishStatus = smartForm.Element("publishStatus").Value, CorrectionOfId = (int)smartForm.Element("correctionOfId"), IdCode = smartForm.Element("idCode").Value, Title = smartForm.Element("title").Value, Description = smartForm.Element("description").Value, LabelWidth = (int)smartForm.Element("labelWidth") }); foreach (SmartForm smartForm in smartForms) { _collection.Add(smartForm); } } Ideally I want to be able to just say: var smartForms = GetSmartForms(smartForm=> (int) smartForm.Element("DisplayOrder").Value > 50); I've got it this far, but I'm just not grokking the lambda magic, how do I do this? public List<SmartForm> GetSmartForms(XDocument xmlDoc, XElement whereClause) { var smartForms = xmlDoc.Descendants("smartForm") .Where(whereClause) .Select(smartForm => new SmartForm { Id = (int)smartForm.Element("id"), WhenCreated = (DateTime)smartForm.Element("whenCreated"), ItemOwner = smartForm.Element("itemOwner").Value, PublishStatus = smartForm.Element("publishStatus").Value, CorrectionOfId = (int)smartForm.Element("correctionOfId"), IdCode = smartForm.Element("idCode").Value, Title = smartForm.Element("title").Value, Description = smartForm.Element("description").Value, LabelWidth = (int)smartForm.Element("labelWidth") }); }

    Hi I just finish writing my first F# program. Functionality wise the code works the way I wanted, but not sure if the code is efficient. I would much appreciate if someone could review the code for me and point out the areas where the code can be improved. • Stack Overflow on Marshal.PtrToStructure reading wmv files

    - by Nick Udell
    Hi, I'm using a frame grabber class in order to capture and process each frame in a video. The class can be found here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/FrameGrabber.aspx I'm having issues with running it, however. When loading the file, it attempts to marshal a video format pointer into a VideoInfoHeader (I'm using DirectShow.Net). The code that does this is as follows: videoInfo = (VideoInfoHeader)Marshal.PtrToStructure(mediaType.formatPtr, typeof(VideoInfoHeader)); When I run this it immediately crashes out of the debugging environment, probably with a stack overflow. When stepping through I can see that the formatPtr always equals 93, though I do not know what to make of this as I am fairly new to marshalling. I have checked that the video runs fine in Windows Media Player. This is essential in finding the dimensions of the video and also the size of the header, which needs to be skipped before the frames can be read. I am running Windows 7 x64. Any help on this would be much appreciated, I must've tried fifteen different frame grabbing techniques.
