  • JSON.Net: deserializing polymorphic types without specifying the assembly

    - by Frank Schwieterman
    I see that using JSON.Net, I can decode polymorphic objects if a $type attribute specifies the specific type of the JSON object. In all the examples I've seen, $type includes the namespace. Is it possible to make this work including just a simple typename without the assembly? I'd be happy to specify a default assembly to the JsonSerializer if thats possible I am able to deserialize the JSON using: public class SingleAssemblyJsonTypeBinder : SerializationBinder { private readonly Assembly _assembly; private Dictionary _typesBySimpleName = new Dictionary(StringComparer.OrdinalIgnoreCase); private Dictionary _simpleNameByType = new Dictionary(); public SingleAssemblyJsonTypeBinder(Assembly assembly) { _assembly = assembly; _typesBySimpleName = new Dictionary<string, Type>(); foreach (var type in _assembly.GetTypes().Where(t => t.IsPublic)) { if (_typesBySimpleName.ContainsKey(type.Name)) throw new InvalidOperationException("Cannot user PolymorphicBinder on a namespace where multiple public types have same name."); _typesBySimpleName[type.Name] = type; _simpleNameByType[type] = type.Name; } } public override Type BindToType(string assemblyName, string typeName) { Type result; if (_typesBySimpleName.TryGetValue(typeName.Trim(), out result)) return result; return null; } public override void BindToName(Type serializedType, out string assemblyName, out string typeName) { string name; if (_simpleNameByType.TryGetValue(serializedType, out name)) { typeName = name; assemblyName = null;// _assembly.FullName; } else { typeName = null; assemblyName = null; } } } ... public static JsonSerializerSettings GetJsonSerializationSettings() { var settings = new JsonSerializerSettings(); settings.Binder = new SingleAssemblyJsonTypeBinder(typeof(MvcApplication).Assembly); settings.TypeNameHandling = TypeNameHandling.Objects; return settings; } .... var serializer = JsonSerializer.Create(settings); I haven't been able to make this work with MVC though, I'm configuring json deserialization per the code below in Application_Start, and the object is deserialized, but using the base type one. GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.Formatters.JsonFormatter.SerializerSettings.Binder = new SingleAssemblyJsonTypeBinder(this.GetType().Assembly); GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.Formatters.JsonFormatter.SerializerSettings.TypeNameHandling = TypeNameHandling.All; GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.Formatters.JsonFormatter.SerializerSettings.TypeNameAssemblyFormat = FormatterAssemblyStyle.Simple;

If I have a simple query like: OPEN cursor FOR SELECT USER_ID FROM USER_TABLE WHERE USER_ID = V_SOME_USER; this will return records in different rows but how can I return the rows in the following format: 'userid1', 'userid2', 'userid3'.....'useridN' I want to do this because I want to send this off as a parameter to another stored procedure...Also, what is the limit on how big the string can be when passed to the SP as parameter

  • C: Random Number Generation - What (If Anything) Is Wrong With This

    - by raoulcousins
For a simple simulation in C, I need to generate exponential random variables. I remember reading somewhere (but I can't find it now, and I don't remember why) that using the rand() function to generate random integers in a fixed range would generate non-uniformly distributed integers. Because of this, I'm wondering if this code might have a similar problem: //generate u ~ U[0,1] u = ( (double)rand() / ((double)(RAND_MAX)); //inverse of exponential CDF to get exponential random variable expon = -log(1-u) * mean; Thank you!

  • Executing Password Change over Ruby Net-SSH

    - by tesmar
Hi all, I am looking to execute a password change over Net-ssh and this code seems to hang: Net::SSH.start(server_ip, "user", :verbose => :debug ) do |session| session.process.popen3("ls") do |input, output, error| ["old_pass","test", "test"].each do |x| input.puts x end end end I know the connection works because using a simple exec I can get the output from ls on the remote server, but this hangs. Any ideas? The last message from debug is that the public key succeeded.

  • Why can't I shrink a transaction log file, even after backup?

    - by Jordan Hudson
I have a database that has a 28gig transaction log file. Recovery mode is simple. I just took a full backup of the database, and then ran both: backup log dbmcms with truncate_only DBCC SHRINKFILE ('Wxlog0', TRUNCATEONLY) The name of the db is db_mcms and the name of the transaction log file is Wxlog0. Neither has helped. I'm not sure what to do next.

  • HTTPS intercept

    - by Adrian
I don't know much about SSL, but I've read something and I was wondering if it's possible to intercept the communication between client and server (for example, a company can monitor employees data transfer?). I thought it was a difficult task, but it looks like that it is very simple. When a client requests a https connection the router can be instructed to intercept the key exchange and send to the server and the client it's own public keys (further it can encode/decode the hole traffic). Is it true, or I'm misunderstanding something?

  • How do you tell if two wildcards overlap?

    - by Tom Ritter
Given two strings with * wildcards, I would like to know if a string could be created that would match both. For example, these two are a simple case of overlap: Hello*World Hel* But so are all of these: *.csv reports*.csv reportsdump.csv Is there an algorithm published for doing this? Or perhaps a utility function in Windows or a library I might be able to call or copy?

  • Basic xhtml/css models ?

    - by Skeptic
Hi, I need to produce a very simple website (no dynamic-content, 2-columns, header&footer) and I have a basic knowledge of xhtml/css. So I could probably come with something from scratch, but it would probably won't work in "all" browsers. I've done some googling, but it's difficult for me to evaluate the quality of the "free templates" advertized all over the place. So is there any web developer here that has good references or even such models/templates ?

  • Mathematica: get number of arguments passed to a function?

    - by dbjohn
How do I get the number of arguments passed to a function, such as Plus[2,3,4,5] has 4 arguments passed to it. I was thinking it may involve the use of the function Length and getting the arguments into a list. The intention is to iterate an operation based on the number of arguments for a function. There is probably a simple solution or function but I haven't come across it yet. Any other ways or suggestions are welcome as well?

  • TCPDF Auto Page Break Not Working if Widths set

    - by kenitech
I have a very specific 2 column layout I'm trying to set up for a client using TCPDF. AutoPageBreak works fine if you're sending text to a page with writeHTML and multiCell at the default width of the page. When I set a narrower width for a multiCell TCPDF doesn't know when to page break. This is driving me insane. Here's super simple example set up here: http://www.artworknotavailable.com/temp/tcpdf/
