  • BroadcastReciever doesn't show SMS not Send or Not delivered

    - by user1657111
    While using broadcastreciver for checking sms status, it shows the toast when sms is sent but shows nothing when sms is not sent or delivered (im testing it by putting an abrupt number). the code im using is the one ive seen the most on every site of checking sms delivery status. But my code is only showing the status when sms is sent successfully. Can any one get a hint of what am i doing wrong ? I hav this method in doInBackground() and so obviously im using AsyncTask. Thanks guys public void send_SMS(String list, String msg, AtaskClass task) { String SENT = "SMS_SENT"; String DELIVERED = "SMS_DELIVERED"; SmsManager sms = SmsManager.getDefault(); PendingIntent sentPI = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(this, 0, new Intent(SENT), 0); PendingIntent deliveredPI = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(this, 0, new Intent(DELIVERED), 0); //---when the SMS has been sent--- registerReceiver(new BroadcastReceiver(){ @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent arg1) { switch (getResultCode()) { case Activity.RESULT_OK: Toast.makeText(context, "SMS sent", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; case SmsManager.RESULT_ERROR_GENERIC_FAILURE: Toast.makeText(context, "Generic failure", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; case SmsManager.RESULT_ERROR_NO_SERVICE: Toast.makeText(context, "No service", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; case SmsManager.RESULT_ERROR_NULL_PDU: Toast.makeText(context, "Null PDU", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; case SmsManager.RESULT_ERROR_RADIO_OFF: Toast.makeText(context, "Radio off", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; } } }, new IntentFilter(SENT)); //---when the SMS has been delivered--- registerReceiver(new BroadcastReceiver(){ @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent arg1) { switch (getResultCode()) { case Activity.RESULT_OK: Toast.makeText(context, "SMS delivered", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; case Activity.RESULT_CANCELED: Toast.makeText(context, "SMS not delivered", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); break; } } }, new IntentFilter(DELIVERED)); StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(list,","); int count= st.countTokens(); int i =1; count = 1; while(st.hasMoreElements()) { // PendingIntent pi = PendingIntent.getActivity(this,0,new Intent(this, SMS.class),0); String tempMobileNumber = (String)st.nextElement(); //SmsManager sms = SmsManager.getDefault(); sms.sendTextMessage(tempMobileNumber, null, msg , sentPI, deliveredPI); Double cCom = ((double)i/count) * 100; int j = cCom.intValue(); task.doProgress(j); i++; count ++; } // class ends }

  • How do I get class of an internal static class in another assembly?

    - by Echiban
    I have a class C in Assembly A like this: internal class C { internal static string About_Name { get { return "text"; } ... } I have about 20 such static properties. Is there a way, in an outside assembly, without using friend assembly attribute (.Net reflection only), get class C so I can invoke any of the static string properties like this: Class C = <some .Net reflection code>; string expected = C.About_Name; If that is not possible, a .Net reflection code to get the string property value directly will suffice, but not ideal. Thanks in advance!

  • PHP - Using strcpsn() to protect against SQL injection?

    - by MichaelMitchell
    I am making a sort of form validation system and I need to check the SQL database to see if the username is already there. So, my question, is it effective to use a little if statement like this to protect against an attack? if (strcspn($string, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=" == strlen($string)){ return true; } So essentially, if the string contains any of these characters, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=", then the length will not equal that of the original $string. I am just wondering if this is sufficient to protect, or if there is more that I must do. Thanks.

  • Extract dates from filename

    - by Newbie
    I have a situation where I need to extract dates from the file names whose general pattern is [filename_]YYYYMMDD[.fileExtension] e.g. "xxx_20100326.xls" or x2v_20100326.csv The below program does the work //Number of charecter in the substring is set to 8 //since the length of YYYYMMDD is 8 public static string ExtractDatesFromFileNames(string fileName) { return fileName.Substring(fileName.IndexOf("_") + 1, 8); } Is there any better option of achieving the same? I am basically looking for standard practice. I am using C#3.0 and dotnet framework 3.5 Edit: I have like the solution and the way of answerig of LC. I have used his program like string regExPattern = "^(?:.*_)?([0-9]{4})([0-9]{2})([0-9]{2})(?:\\..*)?$"; string result = Regex.Match(fileName, @regExPattern).Groups[1].Value; The input to the function is : "x2v_20100326.csv" But the output is: 2010 instead of 20100326(which is the expected one). Can anyone please help.

  • Java: over-typed structures?

    - by HH
    Term over-type structure = a data structure that accepts different types, can be primitive or user-defined. I think ruby supports many types in structures such as tables. I tried a table with types 'String', 'char' and 'File' in Java but errs. How can I have over-typed structure in Java? How to show types in declaration? What about in initilization? Suppose a structure: INDEX VAR FILETYPE //0 -> file FILE //1 -> lineMap SizeSequence //2 -> type char //3 -> binary boolean //4 -> name String //5 -> path String Code import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class Object { public static void print(char a) { System.out.println(a); } public static void print(String s) { System.out.println(s); } public static void main(String[] args) { Object[] d = new Object[6]; d[0] = new File("."); d[2] = 'T'; d[4] = "."; print(d[2]); print(d[4]); } } Errors Object.java:18: incompatible types found : java.io.File required: Object d[0] = new File("."); ^ Object.java:19: incompatible types found : char required: Object d[2] = 'T'; ^

  • Android: Adding header to dynamic listView

    - by cg5572
    I'm still pretty new to android coding, and trying to figure things out. I'm creating a listview dynamically as shown below (and then disabling items dynamically also) - you'll notice that there's no xml file for the activity itself, just for the listitem. What I'd like to do is add a static header to the page. Could someone explain to me how I can modify the code below to EITHER add this programatically within the java file, before the listView, OR edit the code below so that it targets a listView within an xml file! Help would be much appreciated!!! public class Start extends ListActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); DataBaseHelper myDbHelper = new DataBaseHelper(null); myDbHelper = new DataBaseHelper(this); try { myDbHelper.openDataBase(); }catch(SQLException sqle){ throw sqle; } ArrayList<String> categoryList = new ArrayList<String>(); Cursor cur = myDbHelper.getAllCategories(); cur.moveToFirst(); while (cur.isAfterLast() == false) { if (!categoryList.contains(cur.getString(1))) { categoryList.add(cur.getString(1)); } cur.moveToNext(); } cur.close(); Collections.sort(categoryList); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.listitem, categoryList) { @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View view = super.getView(position, convertView, parent); if(Arrays.asList(checkArray3).contains(String.valueOf(position))){ view.setEnabled(false); } else { view.setEnabled(true); } return view; } }); } @Override protected void onListItemClick(ListView l, View v, int position, long id) { if(v.isEnabled()) { String clickedCat = l.getItemAtPosition(position).toString(); Toast.makeText(this, clickedCat, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); finish(); Intent myIntent = new Intent(getApplicationContext(), Questions.class); myIntent.putExtra("passedCategory", clickedCat); myIntent.putExtra("startTrigger", "go"); startActivity(myIntent); } } }

  • How to access the map returned by IParameterValues::getParameterValues()?

    - by Hua
    I declared a command and a commandParameter for this command. I specified the "values" of this commandParameter as a class implemented by myself. The implementation of this class is below, public class ParameterValues implements IParameterValues { @Override public Map<String, Double> getParameterValues() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Map<String, Double> values = new HashMap<String, Double>(2); values.put("testParam", 1.1239); values.put("AnotherTest", 4.1239); return values; } } The implementation of the handler of this command is blow, public class testHandler extends AbstractHandler implements IHandler { private static String PARAMETER_ID = "my.parameter1"; @Override public Object execute(ExecutionEvent event) throws ExecutionException { String value = event.getParameter(PARAMETER_ID); MessageDialog.openInformation(HandlerUtil.getActiveShell(event), "Test", "Parameter ID: " + PARAMETER_ID + "\nValue: " + value); return null; } } Now, I contribute the command to a menu, <menuContribution locationURI="menu:org.eclipse.ui.main.menu"> <menu id="my.edit" label="Edit"> <command commandId="myCommand.test" label="Test1"> <parameter name="my.parameter1" value="testParam"> </parameter> </command> Since I specified a "values" class for the commandParater, I expect when the menu is clicked, this code line "String value = event.getParameter(PARAMETER_ID);" in the handler class returns 1.1239 instead of "testParam". But, I still see that code line returns "testParam". What's the problem? How could I access the map returned by getParameterValues()? By the way, following menu declaration still works even I don't define "ppp" in the map. <menuContribution locationURI="menu:org.eclipse.ui.main.menu"> <menu id="my.edit" label="Edit"> <command commandId="myCommand.test" label="Test1"> <parameter name="my.parameter1" value="ppp"> </parameter> </command> Thanks!

  • How to define a function which repeats itself when passed an argument

    - by ~unutbu
    Is there an easy way to define a function which repeats itself when passed an argument? For example, I've defined the following function (defun swap-sign () (interactive) (search-forward-regexp "[+-]") (if (equal (match-string 0) "-") (replace-match "+") (replace-match "-")) ) I'd like C-u swap-sign to call swap-sign four times. I've tried (defun swap-sign (&optional num) (interactive) (let ((counter 0) (num (if num (string-to-number num) 0))) (while (<= counter num) (search-forward-regexp "[+-]") (if (equal (match-string 0) "-") (replace-match "+") (replace-match "-")) (setq counter (1+ counter))))) but C-u swap-sign still only runs swap-sign (or perhaps more precisely, the body of the while-loop) once. I'm guessing it is because if num is not the right way to test if num is an empty string. Am I on the right track, or is there a better/easier way to extend swap-sign?

  • PHP Changing Class Variables Outside of Class

    - by Jamie Bicknell
    Apologies for the wording on this question, I'm having difficulties explaining what I'm after, but hopefully it makes sense. Let's say I have a class, and I wish to pass a variable through one of it's methods, then I have another method which outputs this variable. That's all fine, but what I'm after is that if I update the variable which was originally passed, and do this outside the class methods, it should be reflected in the class. I've created a very basic example: class Test { private $var = ''; function setVar($input) { $this->var = $input; } function getVar() { echo 'Var = ' . $this->var . '<br />'; } } If I run $test = new Test(); $string = 'Howdy'; $test->setVar($string); $test->getVar(); I get Var = Howdy However, this is the flow I would like: $test = new Test(); $test->setVar($string); $string = 'Hello'; $test->getVar(); $string = 'Goodbye'; $test->getVar(); Expected output to be Var = Hello Var = Goodbye I don't know what the correct naming of this would be, and I've tried using references to the original variable but no luck. I've come across this in the past, with the PDO prepared statements, see Example #2 $stmt = $dbh->prepare("INSERT INTO REGISTRY (name, value) VALUES (?, ?)"); $stmt->bindParam(1, $name); $stmt->bindParam(2, $value); // insert one row $name = 'one'; $value = 1; $stmt->execute(); // insert another row with different values $name = 'two'; $value = 2; $stmt->execute(); I know I can change the variable to public and do the following, but it isn't quite the same as how the PDO class handles it, and I'm really looking to mimic that behaviour. $test = new Test(); $test->setVar($string); $test->var = 'Hello'; $test->getVar(); $test->var = 'Goodbye'; $test->getVar(); Any help, ideas, pointers, or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Say Example using System; namespace MvcApplication1.Helpers { public class LabelHelper { public static string Label(string target, string text) { return String.Format("<label for='{0}'>{1}</label>", target, text); } } } My Question under which folder do i need to create these class? View folder or controller folder? or can i place it in App_Code folder?

  • How can I tell when the Text of a System.Windows.Forms.GroupBox wraps to the next line?

    - by fre0n
    I'm creating a GroupBox at runtime and setting its Text property. Usually, the text is only on one line, but sometimes it wraps. The problem is that the controls contained in the GroupBox cover up the GroupBox's text. What I'd like to do is determine if and when the text wraps. Specifically, I'd like to determine how much extra height the wrapped text takes up as compared to a single line. That way, I can reposition the GroupBox's controls and adjust its height. Initially, I thought I'd do this by calling the GroupBox's CreateGraphics() method, and using the Graphics to measure the string. Something like this: private void SetGroupBoxText(GroupBox grp, string text) { const int somePadding = 10; Graphics g = grp.CreateGraphics(); SizeF textSize = g.MeasureString(text, grp.Font); if (textSize.Width > (grp.Width - somePadding)) { // Adjust height, etc. } } The problem is that the size generated by g.MeasureString(text, grp.Font) doesn't seem to be accurate. I determined that it wasn't accurate by putting enough of a single character to cause a wrap, then measuring the resulting string. For example, it took 86 pipes (|) to until a wrap happened. When I measured that string, its width was ~253. And it took 16 capital W's to force a wrap - its string had a width of ~164. These were the two extremes that I tested. My GroupBox's width was 189. (a's took 29 and had a width of ~180, O's took 22 and had a width of ~189) Does anyone have any ideas? (hacks, WinAPI, etc. are welcome solutions)

  • How can you get the first digit in an int (C#)?

    - by Dinah
    In C#, what's the best way to get the 1st digit in an int? The method I came up with is to turn the int into a string, find the 1st char of the string, then turn it back to an int. int start = Convert.ToInt32(curr.ToString().Substring(0, 1)); While this does the job, it feels like there is probably a good, simple, math-based solution to such a problem. String manipulation feels clunky. Edit: irrespective of speed differences, mystring[0] instead of Substring() is still just string manipulation

  • Which Java library lets me initialize an object's properties from a properties file?

    - by Kjetil Ødegaard
    Is there a Java library that lets you "deserialize" a properties file directly into an object instance? Example: say you have a file called init.properties: username=fisk password=frosk and a Java class with some properties: class Connection { private String username; private String password; public void setUsername(String username) { this.username = username; } public void setPassword(String password) { this.password = password; } } I want to do this: Connection c = MagicConfigurator.configure("init.properties", new Connection()) and have MagicConfigurator apply all the values from the properties file to the Connection instance. Is there a library with a class like this?

  • C++ Word-Number to int

    - by Andrew
    I'm developing a program that makes basic calculations using words instead of numbers. E.g. five + two would output seven. The program becomes more complex, taking input such as two_hundred_one + five_thousand_six (201 + 5006) Through operator overloading methods, I split each number and assign it to it's own array index. two would be [0], hundred is [1], and one is [2]. Then the array recycles for 5006. My problem is, to perform the actual calculation, I need to convert the words stored in the array to actual integers. I have const string arrays such as this as a library of the words: const string units[] = { "", "one", "two", "three", "four", "five", "six", "seven", "eight", "nine" }; const string teens[] = { "ten", "eleven", "twelve", "thirteen", "fourteen", "fifteen", "sixteen", "seventeen", "eighteen", "nineteen" }; const string tens[] = { "", "", "twenty", "thirty", "forty", "fifty", "sixty", "seventy", "eighty", "ninety" }; If my 'token' array has stored in it two hundred one in index 0, 1, and 2, I'm not sure what the best way to convert these to ints would involve.

  • Covariant return types in Java enums

    - by Kelvin Chung
    As mentioned in another question on this site, something like this is not legal: public enum MyEnum { FOO { public Integer doSomething() { return (Integer) super.doSomething(); } }, BAR { public String doSomething() { return (String) super.doSomething(); } }; public Object doSomething(); } This is due to covariant return types apparently not working on enum constants (again breaking the illusion that enum constants are singleton subclasses of the enum type...) So, how about we add a bit of generics: is this legal? public enum MyEnum2 { FOO { public Class<Integer> doSomething() { return Integer.class; } }, BAR { public Class<String> doSomething() { return String.class; } }; public Class<?> doSomething(); } Here, all three return Class objects, yet the individual constants are "more specific" than the enum type as a whole...

  • How can I keep the the logic to translate a ViewModel's values to a Where clause to apply to a linq query out of My Controller?

    - by Mr. Manager
    This same problem keeps cropping up. I have a viewModel that doesn't have any persistent backing. It is just a ViewModel to generate a search input form. I want to build a large where clause from the values the user entered. If the Action Accepts as a parameter SearchViewModel How do I do this without passing my viewModel to my service layer? Service shouldn't know about ViewModels right? Oh and if I serialize it, then it would be a big string and the key/values would be strongly typed. SearchViewModel this is just a snippet. [Display(Name="Address")] public string AddressKeywords { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the census. /// </summary> public string Census { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the lot block sub. /// </summary> public string LotBlockSub { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the owner keywords. /// </summary> [Display(Name="Owner")] public string OwnerKeywords { get; set; } In my controller action I was thinking of something like this. but I would think all this logic doesn't belong in my Controller. ActionResult GetSearchResults(SearchViewModel model){ var query = service.GetAllParcels(); if(model.Census != null){ query = query.Where(x=>x.Census == model.Census); } if (model.OwnerKeywords != null){ query = query.Where(x=>x.Owners == model.OwnerKeywords); } return View(query.ToList()); }

    - by Captain Comic
    I have created an assembly and later renamed it. Then i started getting runtime errors when calling toolsMenuName = resourceManager.GetString(resourceName); The resourceName variable is "enTools" at runtime. Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "Jfc.TFSAddIn.CommandBar.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "Jfc.TFSAddIn" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed. The code: string resourceName; ResourceManager resourceManager = new ResourceManager("Jfc.TFSAddIn.CommandBar", Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); CultureInfo cultureInfo = new CultureInfo(_applicationObject.LocaleID); if(cultureInfo.TwoLetterISOLanguageName == "zh") { System.Globalization.CultureInfo parentCultureInfo = cultureInfo.Parent; resourceName = String.Concat(parentCultureInfo.Name, "Tools"); } else { resourceName = String.Concat(cultureInfo.TwoLetterISOLanguageName, "Tools"); } // EXCEPTION IS HERE toolsMenuName = resourceManager.GetString(resourceName); I can see the file CommandBar.resx included in the project, i can open it and can see the "enTools" string there.
