  Hi there I have a class. public class MedicalRequest { private int id private IList<MedicalDays> Days private string MedicalUser ... } and another public class MedicalDays { private int id; private DateTime? day private MedicalRequest request ... } I'm using nhibernate to return a list of all the MedicalDays within a time span. I'd like to do something like this to the resulting list //nhibernate query IList<MedicalDays> days = daysDao.FindAll(searchCritCollection); //select a list of days from resulting list IEnumerable<MedicalDays> queriedList = days.SelectMany(i => i.MedicalRequest.MedicalUser == employee); Linq tells me that the type cannot be inferred by the usage. • Crop and Resize Image to Specific Dimensions

  I need some help cropping and resizing images using CSharp.net. My goal here is to take an image and reduce it to 50px by 50px. The following code I found here will do that, however it's scaling the image as well.   I have a ASP.NET 2.0 web application that should upload a ppt file and then extract its slides to images. I also heard that Open-office has an API that should be able to do this, but I couldn't find anything about it. I don't mind using DLLImport to do what I have to do and I can install open-office on the web server. • C++ visibility of privately inherited typedefs to nested classes

  First time on StackOverflow, so please be tolerant. In the following example (apologies for the length) I have tried to isolate some unexpected behaviour I've encountered when using nested classes within a class that privately inherits from another. I've often seen statements to the effect that there is nothing special about a nested class compared to an unnested class, but in this example one can see that a nested class (at least according to GCC 4.4) can see the public typedefs of a class that is privately inherited by the closing class. I appreciate that typdefs are not the same as member data, but I found this behaviour surprising, and I imagine many others would, too. So my question is threefold: Is this standard behaviour? • Resizing and rotating an image in Android

  I'm trying to rotate and resize an image in Android. The code I have is as follows, (taken from this tutorial): Bitmap originalSprite = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(), R.drawable.android); int orgHeight = a.getHeight(); int orgWidth = a.getWidth(); //Create manipulation matrix Matrix m = new Matrix(); // resize the bit map m.postScale(.25f, .25f); // rotate the Bitmap by the given angle m.postRotate(180); //Rotated bitmap Bitmap rotatedBitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(originalSprite, 0, 0, orgWidth, orgHeight, m, true); return rotatedBitmap; The image seems to rotate just fine, but it doesn't scale like I expect it to. I've tried different values, but the image only gets more pixelized as I reduce the scale values, but remains that same size visually; whereas the goal I'm trying to achieve is to actually shrink it visually. I'm not sure what to do at this point, any help is appreciated.

  Hi, Is this code solid? I've tried to use "using" etc. Basically a method to pass as sequenced list of SQL commands to be run against a Sqlite database. I assume it is true that in sqlite by default all commands run in a single connection are handled transactionally? Is this true? i.e. I should not have to (and haven't got in the code at the moment) a BeginTransaction, or CommitTransaction. Consider something like: struct Parameter { int a; Parameter(){a = 0} void setA(int newA){a = newA;} }; struct MyClass { void changeParameter(Parameter &p){ p.setA(-1);} }; Well, let's fast forward, and imagine I already wrapped those classes, exposing everything to python, and imagine also I instantiate an object of Parameter in the C++ code, which I pass to the python script, and that python script uses a MyClass object to modify the instance of Parameter I created at the beginning in the C++ code. After that code executes, in C++ Parameter instance is unchanged!!! This means it was passed by value (or something alike :S), not by reference. But I thought I declared it to be passed by reference... I can't seem to find Boost::Python documentation about passing by reference (although there seems to be enough doc about returning by reference...). Can anyone give some hint or pointer please?

I want the DisplayForModel view to show the StateName property, and the EditorForModel view use the StateID property (I am actually rendering a dropdownlist based on this). I have not been able to figure out how to decorate my viewmodel properties to create this behavior.

  I'm want a IDictionary<float, foo> that returns the larges values of the key first. private IDictionary<float, foo> layers = new SortedDictionary<float, foo>(new AscendingComparer<float>()); class AscendingComparer<T> : IComparer<T> where T : IComparable<T> { public int Compare(T x, T y) { return -y.CompareTo(x); } } However, this returns values in order of the smallest first. I feel like I'm making a stupid mistake here. Just to see what would happen, I removed the - sign from the comparator: public int Compare(T x, T y) { return y.CompareTo(x); } But I got the same result. This reinforces my intuition that I'm making a stupid error.

And why in SQL Server i am allowed to see ShoppingPlaceID and ShoppingPlace_ShopingPlaceID when in the case of Item and Category i see only one?

• .NET 1.0 ThreadPool Question

  I am trying to spawn a thread to take care of DoWork task that should take less than 3 seconds. Inside DoWork its taking 15 seconds. I want to abort DoWork and transfer the control back to main thread. I have copied the code as follows and its not working. Instead of aborting DoWork, it still finishes DoWork and then transfers the control back to main thread. • Android Map Performance poor because of many Overlays?

  Hi, I have a map in my android application that shows many markers (~20-50). But the app performs very poor when i try to scroll/zoom (in Google Android Maps i did a sample search for pizza and there were also some 20-50 results found and i didn't notice any particular performance problems when zooming/scrolling through the map).
