• C# SqlDataAdapter not populating DataSet

  I have searched the net and searched the net only to not quite find the probably I am running into. I am currently having an issue getting a SqlDataAdapter to populate a DataSet. I am running Visual Studio 2008 and the query is being sent to a local instance of SqlServer 2008. If I run the query itself in SqlServer, I do get information. • ASP.NET application partially reading external configuration

  I have an ASP.NET web app and am attempting to reference an external config (using enterprise application blocks configuration) for some of the configuration but it is not entirely working. I previously had all of the configuration info in the web.config (and it was working), but we are wanting to share some of this configuration information between multiple apps. When I put configurationSource tag in the web.config, and read the configuration through the WebConfigurationManager object, it loads some of the external config info (Logging) but not the connectionStrings and not the custom section I created. So its reading it (logging is working), but some dots aren't being connected and my connection strings aren't coming through. Again, it worked when it was all in the web.config. Any idea what needs to change to be able to reference an external configuration source and have it all come through? • Getting "Object is read only" error when setting ClientCredentials in WCF

  I have a proxy object generated by Visual Studio (client side) named ServerClient. I am attempting to set ClientCredentials.UserName.UserName/Password before opening up a new connection using this code: InstanceContext context = new InstanceContext(this); m_client = new ServerClient(context); m_client.ClientCredentials.UserName.UserName = "Sample"; As soon as the code hits the UserName line it fails with an "Object is read-only" error. I know this can happen if the connection is already open or faulted, but at this point I haven't called context.Open() yet. I have configured the Bindings (which uses netTcpBinding) to use Message as it's security mode, and MessageClientCredentialType is set to UserName. Any ideas?

• Forms authentication for users and Windows for Database?

  On our production servers, the admins created a WebUser active directory account which is users for anonymous access to IIS and is also used to authenticate database access with our SQL Server instances using Integrated Security=SSPI in the connection string and identity impersonate="true" in the web.config. I've often come across situations where I would like to or even need to use forms authentication. However, I using forms authentication, Integrated Security seems to use the logged in user's credentials to authenticate against the database. In these cases I have changed the connection string to use the credentials of a SQL Server users instead. I would prefer to not have a hard coded username and password in the connection string or rather worse in code. Is it possible to use forms authentication just for user authentication for users and windows authentication with the IIS user for database access? What would be the best practice in such a situation?

  I'm trying to find a parental control for Ubuntu that turns adult site words into *. I have tried webcontentcontrol (doesn't even ask me to set a password), mobicip (doesn't even get listed in package names). My family can see my adult bookmark names and that's really embarrassing. I tried sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get -f install sudo apt-get upgrade sudo pkill webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol but still can't uninstall it. Googling for that error message resulted in a solution that is first said dangerous, later said wrong. After sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol, I always get the error message "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)". What should I do? The full error message is in brazilian portuguese. Should I post it anyway? I have just installed nanny, but while webcontentcontrol is installed, it doesn't load.

I though the two gets were going out at the same time but there is no corresponding number of responses. Also when trying to reproduce this pattern as the server if I abort the first GET request the client waits until it times out and starts the request over with out sending any other requests. What is happening here? How can I reproduce it?

I know the script is running due to a log file it appends to. When I run the PHP script manually via the Ubuntu Gnome Terminal both bash commands execute flawlessly; however when the PHP script is triggered via cron, the two bash commands are not ran.   If I were to extricate my current membership provider from my solution, i.e. as a dll and expose it as a web service with it's own db, how would I model the relationships with regards to SOA design. For example I have a table: USER id, name, lastname, username, password, role. and table PRODUCT id, name, price, createdate, userid the foreign key being userid to table user. How would I model the relationship and/or query the db. If I wanted to get all products that were uploaded today for example, before I would query: SELECT u.name, u.lastname, u.username, p.* FROM PRODUCT p INNER JOIN USER u ON p.userid = u.id WHERE createdate = '05/05/2010' Now that I don't have the table within the database how would I perform this query? • In MVC2, how do I validate fields that aren't in my data model?

  I am playing with MVC2 in VS 2010 and am really getting to like it. In a sandbox application that I've started from scratch, my database is represented in an ADO.NET entity data model and have done much of the validation for fields in my data model using Scott Guthrie's "buddy class" approach which has worked very well. However, in a user registration form that I have designed and am experimenting with, I'd like to add a 'confirm email address' or a 'confirm password' field. Since these fields obviously wouldn't exist in my data model, how would I validate these fields client side and server side? I would like to implement something like 'Html.ValidationMessageFor', but these fields don't exist in the data model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hey, I've got a SharePoint website running on my machine (which it shows me inside the Application Pool in the Inet Manager). Now this website has a different user credentials specified under the Identity section (properties). Also when I view the w3wp.exe in the task manager it shows that the site is running as a different user. The problem is that if I change the username and password of the existing user with mine, the site stops working. How do I run it under my account credentials. Please help. Thanks

• Authenticate sites with different domain names using the Facebook API

  We have a CMS that supports multiple sites, one of our features allows our users (The site admin) to connect to the site facebook account to allow status updates, create events and upload pictures to FB from with in the CMS. The authentication needs to occur once since each site may have multiple site admins that do not have access to the site FB user name and password. We use iframe and authenticate using $facebook-require_login() which redirects the user to the FB login and authentication pages. All this works just fine but when the user hits "Allow" the authentication will break as it will only redirect to whatever is in the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" field making the app obsolete for any other domain except the one in the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" I know other API's authentication methods like in Vimeo and YouTube will allow you to specify a NEXT parameter which is the equivalent of the "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" and it can be set at run time. How can I make this work for multiple domain names? Any hints on this issue will be of great help

My question: Should I send ctrl+c (SIGINT) to the input NSPipe for my NSTask? inputPipe = [NSPipe pipe]; taskInput = [inputPipe fileHandleForWriting]; NSString dataString = @"\cC"; [taskInput writeData:[dataString dataUsingEncoding: [NSString defaultCStringEncoding]]]; Alternatively, I was thinking about using kill( pid, SIGINT ); but it would be much more complicated since the process ID has to be determined via a detour ([task processIdentifier] does not help here) - the original NSTask calls: /bin/bash -c sudo -S | mypassword .... Here is the layout of my tables: member_login: MemberID, email, password member_info: memberID, first_name, last_name member_friends: friendID, req_member, req_date, app_member, app_date, date_deactivated I tried to use NOT IN to run a query that would return the opposite of friends but nothing I try seems to be working. • Drupal on IIS - Cannot connect to the database

  hi, I've hard time to make Drupal work on IIS Microsoft server. I've succesfully run Joomla on the same server so I'm pretty sure the following information are correct: host: localhost user: user pass: pass databaseName = servername_databasename I've set the following line in settings.php file: $db_url = 'mysql://user:password@localhost/servername_databasename'; but what I get is this: If you are the maintainer of this site, please check your database settings in the settings.php file and ensure that your hosting provider's database server is running. For more help, see the handbook, or contact your hosting provider. I don't get any other error message such as: database doesn't exist, user/pass wrong.. just this. The database is running, I can access with phpmyadmin. I've tried both "mysql" and "mysqli". The host is a private server (IIS Microsoft), the database is Mysql The database and website files upload have also been succesfull.. so I dunno what to do to fix this issue. thanks

  I am able to send and receive emails from my JSPs and associated Java code using the Java Mail API (javax.mail.*). Now I would like to create a new POP3 email account programmatically when a user registers for my site. I've found surprisingly little information about this with web searches. I would think it would be a somewhat common problem. It appears that the Java Mail API does not provide any assistance in this area. I have many email accounts available under my godaddy account, and to manually create an account, I just go to the godaddy email control panel, click Add, and specify the email address and password. This is exactly what I would like to do via a Java program. Any ideas?

  Is this possible? I'd like to expose a URL (action) such as http://mysever/myapp/UpdateHeartbeat/. In my MVC application it looks like [Authorize] [AcceptsVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult UpdateHeartbeat() { // update date in DB to DateTime.Now } Now, in my MVC application the user has logged in via FORMS authentication and they can execute that action to their hearts content. What I want to do, is hit that URL progromatically (as part of an API that I wouldl like to build) -- is there a way I can do that without removing the [Authorize] attribute and adding username/password as parameters to the POST?

  hi, I just started working with ASP.Net MVC 2. I created a new ASP.Net MVC application and created one vehicle controler with a database table connected with LINQ. Then created forms authentication mechanism for the application and tried to use the uri instead of cookies it was working smoothly but when i submit the form by creating a "Create" view from the controler using the utility it just dont work. The autherization got failed and asking to enter the user name and password again.I had created the authorization mechanism by adding Authorise attribute to the Controller so as to get authorized for all the actions. namespace MVCNEW.Controllers { [Authorize] public class VehicleController : Controller { But if i use the cookies instead of uri it works fine. • SVN Mac oSX issue - permissions?

  Hello there, /Volumes/sites is a connection to a samba share that hosts some of our sites. We authorise using a username & password that is the same user/pass to log onto the mac. When committing, (or even doing a cleanup) from the Mac Client side using the svn command line tool or SCPlugin, this error occurs: Commit succeeded, but other errors follow: Error bumping revisions post-commit (details follow): In directory '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html' Error processing command 'committed' in '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html' Error replacing text-base of 'index.php' Can't move '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html/.svn/tmp/text-base/index.php.svn-base' to '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html/.svn/text-base/index.php.svn-base': Operation not permitted Any ideas? I think it's to do with permissions on the mac side not being able to move files around on the samba share. Apologies if my question is kinda vague so any extra information I can give please shout.
