• How is the presentation layer of a CALayer generated?

  Hi, I'm having difficulties animating my custom layer property using Core Anmiation. My question is how the presentation of a CALayer is generated. Here is what I have now: @interface MyLayer : CALayer { NSMutableDictionary* customProperties; } @property (nonatomic, copy) NSMutableDictionary* customProperties; @end And when I try to animate the key path "customProperties.roll" using CABasicAnimation and addAnimation:forKey:, it seems that the customProperties variable doesn't get copied from the model layer to the presentation layer, and the customProperties of the presentation layer appears to be nil, failing to update the value for the key "roll". Is there a way to animate values in a dictionary correctly? What is the exact relationship between a model layer and a presentation layer while being animated? Thanks!

• Creating a user-defined code generation system in PHP

  My newest project that I'm looking to build with CodeIgniter would require some sort of system that would allow a user to drag and drop pre-defined functions/methods into mini-classes/objects and then run/test them in the browser. So it'd something similar to Scratch. I've designed a relational database that I think could work for this (storing the function names and have these classes "subscribe" to those functions) - but I'm wondering whether or not to go ahead with it. Is there a better way to do this or is there a system out there that would accomplish this for me? EDIT: It would have to be extremely simple for an end user, but hopefully be flexible enough to easily add more complex functionality in the future.

  Hi All, In my work place, we have several classic ASP and ASP.NET application. All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ? Will it be possible to authenticate for both classic asp and DOT NET in the same login page? Thanks in advance for you answer Raja

  Hi, I basically want to able to run an command line tool that already exists on the desired machine against the directory the files were run to.   Nice and (hopefully) easy. I am trying to work out how to grab the variable #XXX from a text file (css file) containing strings like hr { margin: 18px 0 17px; border-color: #ccc; } h1 a:hover, h2 a:hover, h3 a:hover { color: #001100; } Which I would like to return as ccc 777 The plan then is to throw this through sort and uniq and the end up with a defining colourscheme for the page. Basically, I can't work out how to go from matching /color:#...[...]/ to just printing out the wildcarded sections.

  Hello all, I have come across this great function/command. Colour to RGB, you can do this: col2rgb("peachpuff") //returns hex It will return one hex value. I want to extend this using Perl, Python or PHP but I want to be able to pass in, for example, "yellow" and the function returns all types of yellows - their hex/rgb/?/etc value. I already have a quick solution implemented, which involves mapping colour names to hex values but now I want to get more precise and use some formulas etc to determine what's what. However, as usual, I don't have a clue on how to do this! So I appreciate any implementation advice on how to do this. Thanks all

  Hi, I am trying to substitute variable value inside array so as to update array values based on command line inputs. e.g. I am receiving IP address as command line argument for my TCL script and trying to update commands with recvd IP value. My array is: array set myArr { 1 myCmd1("192.268.2.1","abc.txt") 2 myCmd2("192.268.2.1","xyz.txt") 3 myCmd3("192.268.2.1","klm.txt") } Here, "192.268.2.1" will actually be supplied as command line argument. I tried doing array set myArr { 1 myCmd1($myIP,"abc.txt") 2 myCmd2($myIP,"xyz.txt") 3 myCmd3($myIP,"klm.txt") } and other combinations like ${myIP}, {[set $myIP]} but none is working.   I'm working under Mac OS X 10.6.5 autoconf version 2.68 automake version 1.11.1 In a large project that is built using autoconf, automake, I need to add .mm files to the library sources. When I add them to the library_SOURCES variable they won't compile even after I use AS_IF([test "$with_target" = "quartz"], [AC_PROG_OBJCXX]) in my configure.ac. The test is passed successfully and it event outputs checking whether we are using the GNU Objective C++ compiler... yes and .mm files don't compile. Where can I look to solve this problem?

PDFBox states that it can be used in .net via IKVM http://www.pdfbox.org/userguide/dot_net.html BUT running ikvmc (latest version) to generate the DLLs on PDFBOX.1.0.0.jar generates a whole lot of NoClassDefFound warnings. How should I fix this, and what other DLLs do I need to include in my project?   Somebody said that when your PHP Code and application use global variable then it must be a spaghetti code (i assume this). I use wordpress a lot. As far as i know, it's the best thing near a great php software. And it use many global variables to interact between its components. but forget about that, cause frankly, that's the only thing i know. so it's completely biased ;D so just curious, What is the characteristic of spaghetti code ? ps : the only thing i know is wordpress. so, Hopefully, maybe this will help somebody give great answer for somebody who have a little experience on developing full web application on PHP (for example, stack-overflow website)

• ExpressionEngine Segment Variables Lost on Site Index Page

  Hey Everyone, I've been messing with this for days now and can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to pass a 2nd segment variable to my client's index page. The URL I'm trying is: http://www.compupay.com/site/CSCPA/. The problem is, rather than showing the site's index page with the segment variable of "CSCPA" still in the URL, it shows the index page with no segment variables. Initially, I thought it was a .htaccess problem but I couldn't find anything in it that seemed out of whack. Any ideas? I am posting the .htaccess file so another pair of eyes can see it.   Hi, I'm new to web development and i'm starting with a MVC project. I have a view to create a new Service. In this view, i need to have a button to show a dialog with client names (i also would like to implement filters and paging in this dialog). Once the user selects a client from the dialog, i need to populate some combo boxes in the Service View with info relative to that particular client. How can i accomplish this? • NSMutableDictionary is being treated as an NSDictionary

  Hi, I have a simple class with an NSMutableDictionary member variable. However, when I call setObject:forKey I get an error ('mutating method sent to immutable object'). The source of the problem is obvious from the debugger -- my NSMutableDictionary is actually of type NSDictionary. I must be missing something incredibly simple but can't seem to fix it. Here is the relevant code: // Model.h @interface Model : NSObject { NSMutableDictionary *piers; } @property (nonatomic,retain) NSMutableDictionary *piers; @end // Model.m @implementation Model @synthesize piers; -(id) init { if (self = [super init]) { self.piers = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] initWithCapacity:2]; [self createModel]; } return self; } -(void) createModel { [piers setObject:@"happy" forKey:@"foobar"]; } @end If I put a breakpoint anywhere in the code and investigate self.piers, it is of type NSDictionary.   I am writing my first rails app. It needs to aggregate some data from multiple sites and for each site I have a unique way of getting the data (some provide RSS, some JSON, for some I scrape the HTML etc.). These will run on schedule, probably as a rake task from cron. It seems logical to store the sites and relevant information in a model, but I am not sure where to put unique data retrieval methods. Do I store method names in the model? Do I just name the methods the same as site name and call them that way? Basically, I need a way to read a list of sites and call appropriate method for each site. What is the Ruby on Rails way to do it?

• OAuth gives me 401 error

  I am trying to get the access key but I cannot make it work. `request_token.get_access_token is giving me 401 Unauthorized (OAuth::Unauthorized) error. I copy the authorize_url into my browser, allow the application, I receive some kind of PIN from twitter but after hitting enter in my script I always get 401 error. • Can I use a class as an object in C# to create instances of that class?

  I'm writing a fairly uncomplicated program which can "connect" to several different types of data sources including text files and various databases. I've decided to implement each of these connection types as a class inherited from an interface I called iConnection. So, for example, I have TextConnection, MySQLConnection, &c... as classes. In another static class I've got a dictionary with human-readable names for these connections as keys. For the value of each dictionary entry, I want the class itself. That way, I can do things like: newConnection = new dict[connectionTypeString](); Is there a way to do something like this? I'm fairly new to C# so I'd appreciate any help.

  I have a multiple language website, that uses subdirectories from the root ('/en' for english and '/es' for spanish) for each specific language. Each redirect appends a get variable to the URL, and hides it using a 'P' flag for proxy. My current htaccess file for the spanish subfolder is: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=10 RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1.php RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1?l=es [P,R=301,L] The problem is that I also want to append the 'www' to the domain if it was left off. The proxy redirect does not show the 'www.' Is it possible to place a rewriterule before that final one that will append the www, and then still process the final one?

  I have a Maven2 project which I am editing in IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.2. I am trying to build it and debug it within a Glassfish 2.1.1 container. This is only working sometimes. Occasionally it is giving me an error, telling me it can't deploy. Other times, it deploys, but does not run the filtering on the POM, not replacing a variable in the sun-web.xml file (and other container specific files) leaving it as ${targetenv} instead of replacing it with the value it should. I think I am missing something here, and have something very confused, but I have no idea what. Any help would be most gratefully received.

• Storing user info in Session using an Object vs. normal variables

  I'm in the process of implementing a user authentication system for my website. I'm using an open source library that maintains user information by creating a User object and storing that object inside my php SESSION variable. Is this the best way to store and access that information? I find it a bit of a hassle to access the user variables because I have to create an object to access them first: $userObj = $_SESSION['userObject']; $userObj->userId; instead of just accessing the user id like this how I would usually store the user ID: $_SESSION['userId']; Is there an advantage to storing a bunch of user data as an object instead of just storing them as individual SESSION variables? ps - The library also seems to store a handful of variables inside the user object (id, username, date joined, email, last user db query) but I really don't care to have all that information stored in my session. I only really want to keep the user id and username.
