• Using Remote Desktop, connect to a Windows 7 domain user account without first logging on locally?

  I have a dell laptop (henceforth we'll call this the server) running Windows 7 Enterprise. The server is part of my company's domain. My primary user account is a domain account. When I am at home and not connected to the domain, I prefer to connect to the server using Remote Desktop Connection from my MacBook Pro (we'll call this the client). The problem is, that if I do not physically login to the server, I am unable to connect to it using RDC from the client. I have a local administrator account on the server, and connecting to it via RDC works just fine. I had a feeling that the Mac RDC application was not giving me the full story, so I attempted the same procedure from a Windows 7 client. When trying to login, I get this message: So basically, If I logon to the server physically with my domain user and lock the computer, I can then successfully logon from the client. Otherwise, I am unable to connect.

• Chrome is "glitching", on my Mac, is this a known issue?

  Ok, so on my MacBook Pro I'm seeing some weird stuff when using Chrome. Occasionally, the screen will momentarily get messed up (see pic). Usually this happens for less than 1 second but one time it froze like that long enough for me to get the screen shot shown. Only seems to happen when using Chrome (Version 35.0.1916.114). OSX 10.9.3 Happens on both primary monitor and when attached to secondary display Does not seem to happen to other windows being shown on same screen Is this a known issue? Possible causes?

  I have got some clients from bench office which connects vpn to main office. The Router from bench office assigned addresses from DHCP 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 and remote gateway assigned vpn ip addresses 10.10.20.0/255.255.255.0. There is a DNS server (Active Directory Win SBS 2000) and vpn client are registered with vpn address (10.10.20.0/255.255.255.0 and domain company.com.pl). I would like to register also primary bench subnet 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 with domain for example company.vpn.local I want to access vpn hosts for example: dev3.copmany.pkb.local and dev3.company.com using my Win SBS 2000 DNS server.

• Server 2003 RAS Server Utilising High WAN Traffic

  We have Routing and Remote Access configured on Server 2003 (also our primary domain controller), allowing users to connect in remotely to access files, email, etc. With one user, the RAS Server is constantly sending data to that user's remote computer. From 9am this morning it has transferred almost 800MB. The user isn't transferring any files remotely, certainly not enough to total 800MB anyway. None of the other remote users have had this issue. We have ensured that the user in question has "Use default gateway on remote network" disabled for both IPv4 and IPv6 and we are fairly confident that Offline Files isn't trying to synchronise with the server remotely, too. My question is two-fold. Firstly, has anyone had a similar experience? Secondly, what would be the best software to discover exactly what data is being sent to the remote user?

  Hi. I have 2 classes Tema(Homework) and Disciplina (course), where a Course has a Set of homeworks.   Hello, I have a webpage. Do not tell me it is bad, I know that myself, and it is not exactly what I really do, what is important is that I collect data from an array and try submitting it to another page via POST. But if the user has JavaScript turned off, it won't work. What I need to know: Is there a way to transfer POST parameters by means of PHP so the redirection can be done the PHP way (header('Location: anotherpage.php');), too? It is very important for me to pass the params via POST. I cannot use the $_SESSION variable because the webpage is on another domain, thus, the $_SESSION variables differ. Anyway, I simply need a way to transfer POST variables with PHP ^^ Thanks in advance!

• Write Null/Nothing value with Databinding

  I have extended a MaskedTextBox component to add some functionality. The text property of the extended MaskedTextBox is bound to a DateTime? property and the format of binding is set to a time format of "HH:mm:ss" (i.e. 24hr time). So that this masked text box will capture the display a time. The extra functionality I have added is to make the component readonly unless the component is double clicked or the enter button is pressed (the back color of the control helps to inform the users if the component is locked/readonly or not). When the enter button is pressed I also suspend the bindings so that bound data is updated the users input won't be lost. The information is then written back to the value and databindings resumed when the user presses the enter key again. This all works fine up to here, with values written and displayed as would be expected. However, I also want to write the null or nothing value to the DateTime? property if the user hasn't entered any text (or invalid text but let's just stick with no text) when enter key is pressed to submit the new value. Unlike with other valid entries in the MaskedTextBox, with no text entered when i execute: Me.DataBindings("Text").WriteValue() (when 'locking' the MaskedTextBox) it then branches to the bound properties Get method as I step into each line of code in the debugger (as opposed to the Set method with other valid entries) How can I write this null/nothing/"" value to the DateTime? property when no text "" is entered into the MaskedTextBox?   Is it possible to have a custom type within a custom type and have the result returned via WCF RIA services? I have the following two classes below, but I can't gain access to the Verticies property within the Polygon class. I assume it is because it is a custom class, or something to do with it being a List collection. • Is this the right way to organize my database tables?

  So I'm making a website that allows users to build contact lists. So their are users, the users have lists, and the lists have contacts. It seems to me that I need 3 tables for this but I just want to make sure. There would be a User table of course, and then a "List of Lists" table that has the username, and listname, as primary key along with whatever other info we want to attach to the lists as a whole. Finally, for lack of a better word, the List table which would again have the username/listname p.k., then the contact ID and notes and such that the user attaches to that contact on that specific list. I hope that is a clear explanation. For some reason I feel unsure about this arrangement. For one thing if the website becomes popular the List table could swell to billions of rows. And it also feels a little weird that everybody's list info is all jumbled up in the same table. I suppose I could create separate tables for each user and even for each list but that seems like a bad idea for other reasons. My db explanation assumes I can use foreign keys on my tables which at the moment isn't actually an option. If I can't get InnoDB tables enabled I will probably use ID's for the lists instead of depending on a compound key. Maybe I should do this anyway?

• Disabling networkmanager for a specific interface

  I'd like to do some experimentation with hostap without disabling my primary wireless interface. How do I tell networkmanager to keep its hands off a specific interface or interfaces while allowing it to continue managing all other interfaces normally? I'm using Ubuntu 9.04. (Wasn't sure if this should go on superuser or serverfault, as networkmanager isn't much of a 'server' tool - if it belongs on serverfault please feel free to move it) Edit: I've tried adding this to /etc/network/interfaces: allow-hotplug wlan2 iface wlan2 inet static address 192.168.49.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 But this has no apparent effect, even after restarting NetworkManager. • install grub on pendrive containing linux installation, making it system independent

  i have a win7 system and i want to install debian 6 on usb flash drive. the problem is grub loader. i want to install the grub loader on usb itself, so i can just plug in the pendrive in any computer and boot to deb6. so in effect making the flash drive an independent system. i tried it earlier, but ended up with grub loader needing me to insert the pendrive every time to give me boot options to even boot the win7 system, even though it was on primary hdd. so is there a way to turn the pendrive into full linux system with own boot loader, which can automatically detect os in the system i plug it in and be able to boot any of them. totally, self sufficient and system independent; making the pen drive so that it only needs a host system to run the os it carries. thank you, waiting for replies.

  Hey, I'm having some trouble with stuff that work locally and dont work on the app engine python environment: Basically, i want to get a program from an epg between ranges of date and time. i know i cannot do two where < so i saw a suggestion to save the dates as list as datetime.datetime which i did. [datetime.datetime(2010, 5, 10, 14, 25), datetime.datetime(2010, 5, 10, 15, 0)] This is ok. but when i try to compare to it: progranon = get_object(Programs2Channel, 'channel_id =', channelobj.key(), 'endstartdate >', programstart_minex, 'endstartdate <', programstart_minex ) This for some reason works locally, but fails to retrieve the data on the app engine. *Im using Google app engine django patch which uses the get_object to retrieve data in transactions. Please help.   I have a Mac Mini Server (named Server) with the following DNS setup Primary Zone: example.com mysql-host.example.com machine (10.0.0.101) server.example.com machine (10.0.0.100) server.example.com nameserver (10.0.0.100) www.example.com machine (10.0.0.102) www.example.com is a linux box with Apache. How do I get both example.com and www.example.com to work. Right now, I can view my website with www.example.com only. I know there's nothing that points example.com to the IP, but when I create a machine record without a hostname I get an error (This machine record cannot be created without a host name.).

• SQL query for selecting the firsts in a series by cloumn

  I'm having some trouble coming up with a query for what I am trying to do. I've got a table we'll call 'Movements' with the following columns: RecID(Key), Element(f-key), Time(datetime), Room(int) The table is holding a history of Movements for the Elements. One record contains the element the record is for, the time of the recorded location, and the room it was in at that time. What I would like are all records that indicate that an Element entered a room. That would mean the first (by time) entry for any element in a series of movements for that element in the same room. The input is a room number and a time. IE, I would like all of the records indicating that any Element entered room X after time Y. The closest I came was this Select Element, min(Time) from Movements where Time > Y and Room = x group by Element This will only give me one room entry record per Element though (If the Element has entered the room X twice since time Y I'll only get the first one back) Any ideas? Let me know if I have not explained this clearly. I'm using MS SQLServer 2005.

  Since most operating systems I've heard of besides Windows seem to derive their heritage from Unix, I've been curious whether any OS's with the following characteristics exist: Not generally considered Unix-like, i.e. wasn't designed with Unix compatibility as a primary goal, doesn't use X11 as its default GUI in the most common distributions, doesn't support Unix commands by default, etc. Not in the Windows NT family. Is a modern production operating system, not a purely legacy operating system, a research/hobby project or an OS that's still in an alpha state. Is targeted at commodity x86/x64 PC hardware.

• Windows 2003 and 2008 AD integrated DNS zones

  We have a Windows 2003 server DC1 which is our primary DC holding all FSMO roles. It also is a DNS server for our domain domain.local which is an active directory integrated zone. We also have a Windows 2008 DC name DC2 All servers have the correct DNS entries etc. However on all dns servers there are event id 4515 indicating there are duplicate zones in separate directory partitions and only one will be used until the other is removed. And I see these, there is a zone for domain.local under the default naming partition CN=System, CN=MicrosoftDNS, DC=domain.local. As well as the DomainDNSZones partition DC=DomainDNSZones, DC=DOMAIN, DC=local, CN=MicrosoftDNS It seems that the partition in the Default Naming partition is the one which is being used currently. • Second display freaks out when waking from sleep

  I have two laptops, an older white MacBook and a brand new Macbook Pro. When either computer is on my desk, I connect it to a second, widescreen display (Acer, a couple years old, uses DVI). The Macbook connects via mini DVI and the MBP connects via mini displayport. When the Macbook is connected and everything goes to sleep, I'm able to wake the machine and both displays in the normal way and everything is fine. Sometimes, when waking the MBP, the laptop and primary display are fine, but the second display shows a bunch of static. If I restart the display, everything's fine. This probably happens 70% of the time when the MBP goes to sleep while connected to this display. Any idea what could be causing this?

• Sata drive overiding IDE?

  I recently just bought a Sata Hard drive and hooked it up and installed a OS. I am making it my Primary hard drive. What I had before that though was 2 IDE hard drives that I used. One of them was my Prime and the other one was just a second to keep stuff on. My problem is that now since I hooked up the Sata drive, my IDE drives are not being detected at all. I even tried to remove the Sata drive completely and use my IDE drives, but it couldn't be detected. What should I do? Am I connecting them wrong?

  I have a table named Projects that has the following relationships: has many Contributions has many Payments In my result set, I need the following aggregate values: Number of unique contributors (DonorID on the Contribution table) Total contributed (SUM of Amount on Contribution table) Total paid (SUM of PaymentAmount on Payment table) Because there are so many aggregate functions and multiple joins, it gets messy do use standard aggregate functions the the GROUP BY clause. I also need the ability to sort and filter these fields.   I have some big problems with symfony and doctrine at the beginning of a new project. I have created database diagram with mysql workbench, inserted the sql into phpmyadmin and then I've tried symfony doctrine:build-schema to generate the YAML schema. It generates a wrong schema (relations don't have on delete/on update) and after this I've tried symfony doctrine:build --sql and symfony doctrine:insert-sql The insert-sql statement generates error (can't create table ... failing query alter table add constraint ....), so I've decided to take a look over the generated sql and I've found out some differences between the sql generated from mysql workbench (which works perfect, including relations) and the sql generated by doctrine. What should I do? It's also correct like this?
