    I have two tables Contact and Addresses. Addresses is the child table of Contact. When i create view for Contact. i also want to get addresses for user as many as user wants. For contact table i bind the textbox and add validation like this <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.ContactName) %> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.ContactName) %> Now my question is that how can i bind address field on create view screen.   • Using VBA to model data in Autodesk Inventor?

    I have a close friend who is using a specific device that records the dimensions of an object as it is eroded and outputs the dimensional data to an excel sheet. The object is spherical in nature but is eroded from the top and bottom, so the shape is constantly changing and a single formula for surface area and volume would not work. This is where Inventor comes in. My friend can plug the dimensional data to Inventor and it immediately returns the surface area and volume. The erosion process takes several minutes to complete and records data at very short intervals, so it would be very arduous to plug in the data thousand of time. Since Inventor supports macros and VBA, is there a way to plug the data into Inventor and output it into another spreadsheet? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Referencing control on one form from another form VB.NET

    My gosh man, why is this so complicated in VB.NET? As you can guess, I'm kind of new to .NET and just want to reference a control on one form from another. Usually I would just do Form.Control.Property but that doesn't work and every example I've found through Google doesn't work for me. It just seems overly complicated with public classes, etc. Is there a more simpler way to do this? I'm ready to throw in the towel and just use a global variable at this point. I have the form containing the control I want to reference, frmGenerate which has a textbox called txtCustomerNo. From this form through a button's click event I want to show another form, frmCustomers, and have that form reference the value in txtCustomerNo. frmCustomers.ShowDialog() It has to be something simple that I'm just not grasping.     Hi i have a gridview with information about documents: name, document type (policy, guidelines, forms, etc), category, etc. I want to sort the gridview alphabetically (name) and by document type, but always having the 'policy' above the other document types when document name is the same. How do I do that? eg If I do sort by DocumentName, DocumentType ('policy' maybe not be the first one in the list) but if I do sort by DocumentType , DocumentName (I would get for example all guidelines first in alphabetical order, then procedures, then policies, etc)

  • Does anyone have an updated version of the SQLite .NET assembly, ie. SQLite 3.6.23.1 + possibly .NET

    I'm at my wits end with the best .NET assembly version of SQLite, the one found at http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com. The only maintainer doesn't seem to have the time to update the library and it generally takes months, if not more, for newer versions to surface. Luckily, he has published the source code, so I'm hoping that someone else has made his/her own copy of it, and made the changes, and would be willing to share a copy. I've seen comments on the forums for the library to this effect, but sadly even the forum software seems to be grinding to a halt these days as password reminder emails seems to be lost to the big void, so I can't ask the few there that has said they have done it. So I'm here, hopefully the big userbase of StackOverflow can help. What I'm looking for: Updated with the latest changes to SQLite, ie. SQLite version 3.6.23.1 Possibly built for .NET 4.0 (I can do that if I can get a copy of working source) Does anyone have, or know of anyone, that has done this?

In this second controller, i perform some data validations and then, if errors are found, I need to redirect the user again to the source View but with the edited ModelState (so that i can show the validation errors).   • Call a JavaScript function in a Google Chrome window from a vb.net program

    I am having a real problem with this. I want to know if it is possible to run/call a javascript function in a Google Chrome web browser window from a VB.net application. The scenario is that i want to monitor the pc activity (which i know how to) and then if a certain event is met (for example, high ram usage) then it calls a JavaScript function in a Google Chrome web browser window so the website is updated. Sort of like a bridge. The only bit it need to know is the vb.net code for how to access a chrome window and invoke a javascript function if its possible. I assume i will need to use process handlers? Any help is appreciated.

  • Creating tifs directly from VB.Net.

    The current applications uses .net printdocument to create print jobs which it sends to a standard printer. We use the blackice tif print driver to capture the output and manage it from there. The problem is that some print jobs take 30 seconds to come out of the queue, and blackice will not allow you to change settings on the driver (like output filename) until the job is complete. This means the application has to wait 30 seconds until it can print the next job. Is there a better way? Can I create/print tif images directly from .Net without a 3rd party print driver? Do I risk quality to do this?

    Hi I have scenario, where there are html hidden fields, the page can be redirected to itself, with parameters, I have sessions too. Now depending on session value I want to set some hidden values, so that it can be picked up from javascript and can do certain operation. But, the problem is I have no idea about how to get/ set values into html controls using asp.net, and also do not know whether this is possible or not. Please note, it is imperative that I need some way to hold some data that can be set using asp.net and can be picked up by javascript. Since session can not be used for this purpose, so I need some other way. Please enlighten me! Thanks and regards Arunendra

    It would be very useful if somebody could indicate what the plans are for releasing and licensing the AJAX extensions. The EULA for Beta 2 states that the software may be used for development and for web site deployment only. Redistribution is explicitly forbidden. Does that imply that it is going to be released under terms different from the .NET framework and ASP.NET or is it just a precaution to prevent developers shipping the Beta? It seems too risky to include AJAX in new products before there is some indication what the model is going to be....

Now whenever new machine is added in those text files application needs restart. We need to develop one GUI which writes the new machine into network in those files and restart the said application. I was in favor of java based application for the same but here everybody wants solution in ASP .Net Now i am not sure is it possible to write file on sun solaris based operating system from .net application and then restarting the process which is running on the same machine.     I have been tasked with migrating an existing mature ASP.NET 2.0 web site to NHibernate, Mono and MySQL or postgres. I am somewhat confused as how the membership provider salts the passwords. If I make the switch and use the MySQL membership provider (outlined in this question) or AspSqlProvider, will the existing users be able to login? I guess it would be easier for me to ask: How the hell do I get access to the encryption key used by the ASP.NET membership provider that salts the passwords so that I can use the same one in a third party provider?

    I am trying to write a class that uses ADO to retrieve SQL records. The intent is for the class to maintain one private recordset an other methods move forward, retrieve fields, etc. This is a basic example of my class: class SqlADO { private: ADODB::_RecordsetPtr m_recordset; public: void Open(); //open the connection void Execute(const char* sql); // creates or replaces current recordset void Next(); //moves recordset cursor forward void Field(const char* fieldName); //retrieves field name from current record of the recordset }; My Questions: In the Execute method, how can I check to see that the recordset instance has been created (or do I need to) so that I can close it first? Do you know of any good ADO COM Interop references?

    Hi I want to create contact form with SSL. I have created simple asp.net contact form without ssl and now i must add it. It is in Sharrepoint project but seems to be the same case as in asp.net form. I have anonymous webapplication and won't be any login usecase, so whole webapplication must work via http:// but when user go to contact form, it must work via https:// I know how to do the redirect to https:// programatically, I've been searching how to configure SSL on IIS but it seems to not be the case?? I don't wont whole webappliation to work via https, only my contact form - how to do that and how o onfigure that? The data from my form will be passed to database, but it is not important here.

    I need to test a logical expression held in a string to see if it evaluate to TRUE or FALSE.(the strig is built dynamically) For example the resulting string may contain "'dog'<'cat' OR (14 AND 4<6)". There are no variables in the string, it will logically evaluate. It will only contain simple operators = < < = <= and AND , OR and Open and Close Brackets, string constants and numbers. (converted to correct syntax && || etc.) I currently acheive this by creating a jscipt function and compiling it into a .dll. I then reference the .dll in my VB.NET project. class ExpressionEvaluator { function Evaluate(Expression : String) { return eval(Expression); } } Is there a simpler method using built in .NET functions or Lamdba expressions.

  • App.config path not correctly interpreted by ASP.NET Application

    Hello everyone ! I'm working on a very old project (2000) in VB6 which was "modernized" and upgraded to VB.NET 3.5. I've centralized every old INI configuration file into one MainApp.config, which is referenced by the app.config of every component. There's an VB ASP.NET website in the solution, which uses DLL components, which are looking into app.config for parameters like, say, error log directory, etc. I've deployed the site on my dev. server (Windows 2008 Server w/ IIS 7.0) into the D:\WebSite\ directory. Problem: When running the site, an error occurs. A DLL is looking into app.config for the parameter RepertoireErreur which has the value .\Erreurs\ Instead of returning D:\WebSite\Erreurs\ it returns c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\.\Erreurs\ which doesn't contain the Erreurs directory. Boom. Error. Does anyone have ever encountered the same problem ? Is there a solution ? Thanks,
