  • Accessing non-static combbox property in the static method.

    I have one combobox on the window form and I have one method which is declared with static like private static DataTable ParseTable(HtmlNode table) Now I want to use combobox in that method for using combobox property but I can not access any property of combobox or combobox itself.If I made the combobox declaration as static then it can be accessed in that static method.But any alternative way to access combbox property in that static method because I don't want to make combobox declaration as static.

  • Ruby on Rails: Accessing production database data for testing

    With Ruby on Rails, is there a way for me to dump my production database into a form that the test part of Rails can access? I'm thinking either a way to turn the production database into fixtures, or else a way to migrate data from the production database into the test database that will not get routinely cleared out by Rails. I'd like to use this data for a variety of tests, but foremost in my mind is using real data with the performance tests, so that I can get a realistic understanding of load times.

  • MS Runtime required for app to run, how can I include with setup?

    My application requires access to be installed on the computer or at least the MS Access runtime. Is their a way to include that with the application to check for that component/resource or install it if it isn't? Or would it just be easier to include a link to tell the user where to get the runtime if the error happens? I am using Visual Studio 2008 and the windows form app is written in VB.net. I am currently using click once for the deployment. Thanks

    Hello, I have a system with 3 layers and I am using LINQ-to-SQL to persist. I want to validate if the description field of my object is empty. I am using partial classes and the method OnValidate(). If the field is empty, it throws an exception. Is this correct? Is it possible to generate the route in the requirement form, by which I mean "/foos/:id" Given the route: resource :foo do resource :bar end generate_route_method [@foo,@bar] - "/foos/:id/bars/:id" I'm not talking about #foos_path or #polymorphic_path, rather, literally generating the string containing the wildcard components (i.e ":id"), the same as it would appear as if you did "rake routes".

  • Escaping Code for Different Shells

    Question: What characters do I need to escape in a user-entered string to securely pass it into shells on Windows and Unix? What shell differences and version differences should be taken into account? Can I use printf "%q" somehow, and is that reliable across shells? Backstory (a.k.a. Shameless Self-Promotion): I made a little DSL, the Vision Web Template Language, which allows the user to create templates for X(HT)ML documents and fragments, then automatically fill them in with content. It's designed to separate template logic from dynamic content generation, in the same way that CSS is used to separate markup from presentation. In order to generate dynamic content, a Vision script must defer to a program written in a language that can handle the generation logic, such as Perl or Python. (Aside: using PHP is also possible, but Vision is intended to solve some of the very problems that PHP perpetuates.) In order to do this, the script makes use of the @system directive, which executes a shell command and expands to its output. (Platform-specific generation can be handled using @unix or @windows, which only expand on the proper platform.) The solution, logically, is to include a @quote directive that produces a properly escaped string for the current platform. @system './login.pl' { @quote : USERNAME; @quote : PASSWORD } But what should @quote actually do? It needs to be both cross-platform and secure, and I don't want to create terrible problems with a naive implementation. Any thoughts?

For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. Can any one let me know on where I am going wrong?

    How do you encode a javascript object/hash (pairs of properties and values) into a URL-encoded query string with YUI (2.7.0 or 3.0.0 Beta) ? I want to do the equivalent of Object.toQueryString() from Prototype: I need this to encode parameters for GET and POST requests with YAHOO.util.Connect. It turns out YAHOO.util.Connect has a setForm() method to serialize a form but that still leaves me out cold to encode parameters for GET requests, or the 4th parameter of YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest() to pass post data.
