I'm running this query against an Oracle 10g database. select count(test.*) from my_table test; I get the following error: ORA-01747: invalid user.table.column, table.column, or column specification however, the following two queries are valid. select count(test.column) from my_table test; select test.* from my_table test;

  • Know of any Java garbage collection log analysis tools?

    I'm looking for a tool or a script that will take the console log from my web app, parse out the garbage collection information and display it in a meaningful way. I'm starting up on a Sun Java 1.4.2 JVM with the following flags: -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails The log output looks like this: 54.736: [Full GC 54.737: [Tenured: 172798K->18092K(174784K), 2.3792658 secs] 257598K->18092K(259584K), [Perm : 20476K->20476K(20480K)], 2.4715398 secs] Making sense of a few hundred of these kinds of log entries would be much easier if I had a tool that would visually graph garbage collection trends.

  • What is the 'noreq' Filter Type an Alias for?

    I'm looking in to Magento's filtering options (Ecommerce System and PHP Framekwork with an expansive ORM system). Specifically the addFieldToFilter method. In this method, you specify a SQLish filter by passing in a single element array, with the key indicating the type of filter. For example, array('eq'=>'bar') //eq means equal array('neq'=>'bar') //neq means not equal would each give you a where clause that looks like where field = 'bar'; where field != 'bar'; So, deep in the bowels of the source, I found a comparison type named 'moreq' that maps to a = comparison operator array('moreq'=>'27') where field >= 27 The weird thing is, there's already a 'gteq' comparision type array('gteq'=>'27') where field >= 27 So, my question is, what does moreq stand for? Is is some special SQL concept that's supported in other databases that the Magento guys wants to map to MySQL, or is it just "more required" and an example what happens when you're doing rapid agile and trying to maintain backwards compatibility.

    I work on a development team that works closely with Product Managers. There is mutual agreement between the developers and Product Managers that there should be a business case behind every feature the development team builds. My question is, what is an effective way to make a business case for platform-level features that have higher up front cost but will provide long term benefits? For example, the development team would like to implement a plug-in framework. There is the higher up-front cost to implement a plug-in framework but delivering the subsequent features as plug-ins will be cheaper in the long run. This is obvious to everyone including the Product Managers. Is there a standard/simple way to express the cost-benefits? Is there a simple way to visualize it with a graph?

  • mysql query trying to search by alias involving CASES and aggregate functions UGH!

    I have two tables left joined. The query is grouped by the left table's ID column. The right table has a date column called close_date. The problem is, if there are any right table records that have not been closed (thus having a close_date of 0000-00-00), then I do not want any of the left table records to be shown, and if there are NO right table records with a close_date of 0000-00-00, I would like only the right table record with the MAX close date to be returned. So for simplicity sake, let's say the tables look like this: Table1 id 1 2 Table2 table1_id | close_date 1 | 0000-00-00 1 | 2010-01-01 2 | 2010-01-01 2 | 2010-01-02 I would like the query to only return this: Table1.id | Table2.close_date 2 | 2010-01-02 I tried to come up with an answer using aliased CASES and aggregate functions, but I could not search by the result, and I was attempting not to make a 3 mile long query to solve the problem. I looked through a few of the related posts on here, but none seem to meet the criteria of this particular case. Any pushes in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • ubuntu usb that can be booted on mac and windows?

    I am a little frustrated having to use to separate USBs for booting on mac and windows. Is there a way that I can have the version for mac and the version for windows on one USB? or even better, one version that can be booted on both? I have heard of multibootiso, but I'm not entirely sure that it will work on imac. If needed, I am willing to use terminal to make this happen, even if its a long complicated process.

    Developing with cakephp 1.3 (latest from github). There are 2 models bind with hasAndBelongsToMany: documents and tags. Document can have many tags in other words. I've add a new document submitting form there user can enter a list of tags separated with commas (new tag will be added, if not exist already). I looked at cakephp bakery 2.0 source code on github and found the solution. I'm tryed to the following Linux OS with the server: 2.6.32-22-generic-pae #36-Ubuntu SMP. and discovered my OS has not proper Network drive installed (for the NIC adapter described above). After investigation I made, I discovered that the driver I need is "be2net" placed in "net" directory of the linux under the folder "be2net". I managed to download this driver with the latest package for my kernel. Also, on IBM or Emulex offical sites I managed to find drivers only for Red-Had and SUSE versions.

  • Redirect URL using Mac OS X Server Lion

    I have just set up a Mac Mini with OS X Lion Server to host my own website. I have registered multiple domain names, but I would like the user to be automatically redirected to my main domain name if they type in one of the others (i.e. if the user types in www.myotherdomain.com the URL will be forwarded instantly to www.mymaindomain.com). In the Web settings of Server.app, you can easily add additional domains (which works) but it does not change the URL in the browser to www.mymaindomain.com. It keeps www.myotherdomain.com whilst still displaying the correct pages. Does the redirects or alias options do what I want? I can't seem to work out how to use them (there seems to be no documentation that I can find). In Redirects, you need to enter: 'Redirect Type' (Exact Match or Regular Expression) 'Redirect Path' 'Destination URL' 'Redirect Status' (Original was permanently moved, etc) In Alias, you need to enter: 'Alias Type' (Exact Match or Regular Expression) 'Alias Path' 'Destination Folder' Any help would be great.

    I'm trying to test Tomcat virtual hosts on my dev machine (windows 7/Tomcat 6). I'd like to have requests for localhost, test1.localhost and test2.localhost all route through to the same tomcat instance. I've edited my hosts file to look as follows: 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost 127.0.0.1 test1.localhost 127.0.0.1 test2.localhost And added modified the Engine in server.xml as follows: <Engine defaultHost="localhost" name="Catalina"> <Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.UserDatabaseRealm" resourceName="UserDatabase" /> <Host appBase="webapps" autoDeploy="true" name="localhost" unpackWARs="true" xmlNamespaceAware="false" xmlValidation="false"> <Alias>test1.localhost</Alias> <Alias>test2.localhost</Alias> </Host> </Engine> However, I'm getting a 404 when hitting test1.localhost:8080/myWebApp, although localhost:8080/myWebApp works fine. The servers are running two packages pdns-static-3.0.1-1.i386.rpm and pdns-recursor-3.3-1.i386.rpm on the most recent version of Amazon Linux. The amazon ec2 loadbalancers are assigned a CNAME with multiple hosts. Below is an example of the actual behavior. Notice how the hosts are always in the same order. Do you know how I can fix this so that each time the host is resolved the order of the addresses is alternating.

Sites are avialeble at for example localhost/develop/cpanel. Framework handles further routing. In Nginx I was able to make only one site available by specifing root C:/webapps/develop/mil_catele_tech_docs/public; in server block. It works only because docs module don't depend on auth like others, and site was at localhost/. In next attempt: root C:/webapps; location /develop/auth { root C:/webapps/develop/mil_catele_auth/public; try_files $uri $uri/ /develop/mil_catele_auth/public/index.php$is_args$args; } Now as I enter localhost/develop/cpanel it gets to correct index.php but can't find any resources (css,js files). I have no Idea why reference paths in browswer's GET requsts changed to https://localhost/css/bootstrap.css form https://localhost/develop/auth/css/bootstrap.css as it was on apache. This root directive seems not working. Nginx handles php by using fastCGI location ~ \.(php|phtml)?$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param APPLICATION_ENV production; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } I googled whole day, and found nothing usefull. Can someone help me make this configuration work like on Apache?

What do I have to change/add to achieve this? Do I have to "abuse" the index file mechanism somehow? Goal is to keep the /mercurial alias functional. So far I've tried sifting through the lighttpd book from Packt again, also through the lighttpd documentation, but found nothing that seemed to match the problem.

    Aside from aliasing and links, is there an easy way in Linux to tag commonly used directories and to navigate to a commonly used directory from the terminal. To be clear the disadvantages I see with alternative approaches, and why I want a bookmark/favorites like system: alias Cons: Too specific (every new favorite requires a new alias...although you could in theory make an alias that echo append your dir as a new alias, which would be sort of clever). Can't nest favorites in folders (can't think of a simple solution to this outside of heavy config scripting). links Cons: Clutter directory make ls a headache. pushd/popd Cons: Non-permanent (without shell config file scripting), can't nest favorites in directories, etc. Granted I have multiple ideas for making my own non-standard solution, but before I have at it I wanted to get some perspective on what's out there and if there is nothing, what is a recommended approach. Does anyone know of such a favorites/bookmark-like terminal solution?

  • Passenger and ServerAlias not cooperating

    I have a ruby application that runs on a server with multiple IP addresses and mutliple vhosts. Here is the configuration of the problematic virtual host: <VirtualHost 10.0.0.10:80> ServerName realname.example.com ServerAlias alias.example.com DocumentRoot /var/www/sites/example/current/public <Directory /var/www/sites/example/current/public> AllowOverride all Options -MultiViews </Directory> ErrorLog /var/log/httpd/example_error_log CustomLog /var/log/httpd/example_access_log common RailsEnv production RackEnv production </VirtualHost> When I pull up realname.example.com the Ruby on Rails application works correctly. On the other hand alias.example.com just gives me Not Found: / I'm fairly certain the correct vhost is getting used because alias.example.com produces a 404 in the correct log file. I've tried adding logging to the Passenger config and it seems to indicate that Passenger is getting the request. Note: I can't redirect alias.example.com to realname.example.com. realname is accessed using a CDN, whereas alias is directly accessed. Anyone have any ideas why this isn't working? I've been banging my head for days and I've got a similar configuration in QA that works as expected.
