• speakers dont work in macbook pro

  I have a macbook pro but my Built-in stereo speakers don't work and it comes a red light from Headphone out/optical digital audio out port. my Built-in stereo speakers aren't dead because at first that OS runs it comes a sound from them but as soon as the macbook pro is ready when i play music they don't work and In the SOUND in system preferences the name of device for sound output is Digital Out. Is the problem from hardware or software. Is there any solution?

• Want to turn old Powerbook Mac into small form factor desktop

  I've got an old powerbook g4. Battery is totally dead, as is the superdrive. I've looked into selling but it's worth less than it would cost to ship it safely. So I'm considering cracking it open and and taking it's parts and creating some kind of small form factor desktop, probably for the living room. I don't need an optical drive, I really just would like Mac OSX, without purchasing a Mac Mini. Anyone got any tips?

• Kill overscan for ATI drivers?

  I have a dual-boot Windows 7 64 bit/Linux 64 bit machine that uses ATI's Catalyst drivers. Sometimes I attach it to a 1080p LCD TV over HDMI. ATI is daft enough to provide a border to account for overscan. I'm using an LCD TV. No overscan, or it looks like crap because the pixel mapping is not 1:1. How do I disable this driver "feature" in Windows? in Linux?

My goal is to 1-Buy a new hard drive (checked) 2-Copy the recovery partition to a drive ( dd if=/dev/sdb1 of=~/recovery.bak ) 3-Make a new partition of 12000 mb with Windows 7 4-Copy back recovery partition to the new drive ( dd if=~/recovery.bak of=/dev/sdb1 ) Then press F11 when the laptop boots however it does NOT work.   Hello, I am working on theora decoder in ffmpeg V0.5. When i try to decode a 422 or 444 ogg/ogv bit stream using ffmpeg, the output yuv is junk. When i checked the ffmpeg source code, i saw that a pixel format is hardcoded to PIX_FMT_YUV420P. Does theora decoder in ffmpeg/libavcodec support decoding of YUV422/YUV444 mode bit streams? thanks, -AD.

• PSU died, is hard drive fried? Are other components damaged?

  After discovering and replacing my dead PSU, I was able to boot back into Windows. Everything seems to be working fine, however, one hard drive is not. Windows 7 says that this SATA hard drive needs to be formatted before it can work. Can the data be recovered? Also, is there a way to check the integrity of the other components of my computer or assume they will work fine?
