  • How can I change the font color of the VS2012 Source Control Explorer window?

    - by RM.
I am using Visual Stuido 2012 Integrated Shell with Team Explorer. I would like to change the default font color of the mapped and not mapped folders in the Source Control Explorer (in the treeview). I tried the Visual Studio Color Theme editor, but it seems like the font color of the Source Control Explorer and the Team Explorer can not be changed by it. I also looked at Tools|Options|Environment|Fonts and Color for a setting but did not find anything. Is it possible to change the font color? How?

  • "From the Coal Face" - 1 - What ILDASM can reveal!

    - by TATWORTH
In a place far, far away, there was a project where the Architect decided on using embedded TSQL in a Dot Net application, rather than use stored procedures. I located ILDASM.EXE (my Framework 3.5 version lives at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin on my home development PC) and created a shortcut to it in the SendTo folder. Now I could set about doing a simple demonstration to the Architect by taking one of the Dot Net EXE's with the embedded TSQL and sending it to ILDASM.  Since I had written most of the embedded TSQL, it was a matter of seconds before I located the embedded TSQL within the Exe. The TSQL that was supposed to be safely hidden within the EXE was easily located and and copied. (It should also be noted that we could have encrypted the stored procedures on loading them to the database.)

  • Why are there so many string classes in the face of std::string?

    - by fish
It seems to me that many bigger C++ libraries end up creating their own string type. In the client code you either have to use the one from the library (QString, CString, fbstring etc., I'm sure anyone can name a few) or keep converting between the standard type and the one the library uses (which most of the time involves at least one copy). So, is there a particular misfeature or something wrong about std::string (just like auto_ptr semantics were bad)? Has it changed in C++11?

  • IText can't keep rows together, second row spans multiple pages but won't stick with first row.

    - by J2SE31
I am having trouble keeping my first and second rows of my main PDFPTable together using IText. My first row consists of a PDFPTable with some basic search criteria. My second row consists of a PdfPTable that contains all of the tabulated results. Everytime the tabulated results becomes too big and spans multiple pages, it is kicked to the second page automatically rather than showing up directly below the search criteria and then paging to the next page. How can I avoid this problem? I have tried using setSplitRows(false), but I simply get a blank document (see commented lines 117 and 170). How can I keep my tabulated data (second row) up on the first page? An example of my code is shown below (you should be able to just copy/paste). public class TestHelper{ private TestEventHelper helper; public TestHelper(){ super(); helper = new TestEventHelper(); } public TestEventHelper getHelper() { return helper; • Using javascript to limit survey choices to three unique values

    - by leanne
I'm required to use a limited survey application, and have to adapt the provided code to meet more advanced functionality. I need to create a weighted ranking question, so users can select their top three choices and the data will go into the survey application and be accessible in the survey reports. The application only supports 2 types of questions (text fill & multiple choice) but I can alter the code, as long as it still sends the form data back to the survey application. The code is set up so it will show a drop-down menu of 0-3 for each option. Now I want to limit the user's choices so they can only select one "1" "2" or "3", three choices total. Ideally, if the user already had "2" selected for one option and they tried to select it for another option, it would set the first "2" as "0" or blank. Is this possible to do with javascript? If so, does anyone know of a site that might show code like this, or provide similar enough examples that I could adapt it? Current code here: <html> <head><title>Survey</title></head> <!-- Changes - remove br to put dropdown next to text for each item. Switch text & dropdown order for each item. - add comments to separate each question - removed blue title font - add instructions Goals - limit choices to one 1 one 2 and one 3, three choices total. --> <link href="---" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <body bgcolor="#3c76a3"> <!-- TRANSITIONAL DIALOG BOX --> <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="background-attachment: scroll; background-color: #3c76a3; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: left top;" bgcolor="#3c76a3" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" width="100%" height="100%"> <tr> <td> <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="survey"> <tr> <td><p>&nbsp;</p> <!-- HEADER END --> <!-- FORM START TAG --><form name="survey" action="---" method="POST"> <FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> <b>survey</b><hr> <!-- 1 --> <input type=hidden name="Buy R.J. a DeLorean_multiple_answers" value="one"> <font size=2><select name="Buy R.J. a DeLorean" SIZE=1> <option value=""> <option value="0">0 <option value="1">1 <option value="2">2 <option value="3">3 </select></font> <input type="hidden" name="Buy R.J. a DeLorean_help" value=""> <b><font size=2>Buy R.J. a DeLorean</font></b> <hr size=1> <!-- 2 --> <input type=hidden name="Fill Lisa's office with marshmallows._multiple_answers" value="one"> <font size=2><select name="Fill Lisa's office with marshmallows." • Why does font-size only work when I set background-color on a button?

    - by Andrew Latham
I am in Rails 3.2.6, on Chrome. I have the following code in my html.erb file: <div id="beta"> <%= form_tag({}, {:id => "id_search"}) do %> ID: <%= text_field_tag "beta_id" %> <%= submit_tag "Go" %> <% end %> </div> When I set the font-size to 24pt in my CSS file, the text field changes properly, but the button doesn't change at all. I pulled it up in my Developer Tools, and it was getting the CSS property, but just not changing its font size. Even when I put !important, nothing happened. I couldn't change the font-family either. JSFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/R5CXg/ Changing other properties worked. When I changed the background-color property, the button suddenly turned square instead of round, and popped into the correct font-size and font-family. Why was this the case and how can I work around it?

  • How do I prevent a font from extending off the top of a textbox?

    - by David Ellis
I'm using a barcode font (IDAutomationMC39H) in an SSRS 2005 report I'm developing, and while it renders fine in the preview in BIDS, if I export the results to PDF, print the results, or do any of the above (including preview) in Report Manager, the barcode font is extending off the top of the textbox. The barcode itself is nearly 20px tall, even at only a 12pt size. I've tried changing the CanGrow value for the textbox, but it seems that even with that set off the barcode isn't pushing the bottom edge of the textbox downwards, it's simply extending over the top of the box. I've also tried resizing the textbox to allow it to contain the entire height of the font, but even with the VerticalAlign set to Bottom the barcode still sticks to the top of the textbox and overflows out the top. See screenshot here: http://bit.ly/9UfycP Does anyone know how to force the font to be bound by the top of the box, instead of overlapping it?

  • How to access the user font settings of the Internet Explorer?

    - by Mil
I would like to access the Internet Explorer user settings for fonts, especially the font family, within a Browser Helper Object written in C#. I have looked into SHDocVw.WebBrowser and IHTMLDocument( to 5) but I don't see what I'm looking for or missing the property. The BHO is for Internet Explorer 7. Thank you very much! Edit: Richard asks why I need this information: The font-family you can adjust in the IE7 settings is used if the given font-families by the HTML document or CSS are not installed on the system. I need this application-based font-family which is used to render the text in the last instance (if all other information fail).

  • How do you create a .XNB Font file for use with CocosSharp?

    - by Chris Pietschmann
I know the .XNB file format is an XNA thing and that CocosSharp inherits this from its MonoGame roots.
