  • SQL Server 2008 - Difference between time(0)

    I've a table with working_hours time(0), lunch_hours time(0) What I have to do is the following: If lunch_hours is greater that one hour, I have to calculate the offset Example: lounch_hour = 01:30:00 = offset = 00:30:00 Once done I've to subtract the offset from the working_hours value Example: offset = 00:30:00, working_hours = 07:30:00 = working_hours = 07:00:00 The result must be in time(0) format (hh:mm:ss) I've tried several solutions but still not working. Used DATEDIFF probably didn't used in correct way. Thanks for any help Bye!

    Hello, I have designed a trading application that handles customers stocks investment portfolio. I am using two datastore kinds: Stocks - Contains unique stock name and its daily percent change. UserTransactions - Contains information regarding a specific purchase of a stock made by a user : the value of the purchase along with a reference to Stock for the current purchase. db.Model python modules: class Stocks (db.Model): stockname = db.StringProperty(multiline=True) dailyPercentChange=db.FloatProperty(default=1.0) class UserTransactions (db.Model): buyer = db.UserProperty() value=db.FloatProperty() stockref = db.ReferenceProperty(Stocks) Once an hour I need to update the database: update the daily percent change in Stocks and then update the value of all entities in UserTransactions that refer to that stock. In the dashboard, I see that the task.py takes around 65% of the CPU (Stock.py takes around 20%-30%) and I am using almost all of the 6.5 free CPU hours given to me by app engine. I have no problem to enable billing and pay for additional CPU, but the problem is the scaling of the system… Using 6.5 CPU hours for 100 stocks is very poor. I was wondering, given the requirements of the system as mentioned above, if there is a better and more efficient implementation (or just a small change that can help with the current implemntation) than the one presented here.     Hi all, I'm a student in my first C++ programming class, and I'm working on a project where we have to create multiple custom exception classes, and then in one of our event handlers, use a try/catch block to handle them appropriately. My question is: How do I catch my multiple custom exceptions in my try/catch block? GetMessage() is a custom method in my exception classes that returns the exception explanation as a std::string.   • Check whether server is up in AppleScript

    I have an intranet server running on a Windows XP computer and the internet connection on it has been known to be pretty unreliable (surprise, surprise) so I was wondering if there was a way to use an AppleScript to poll it every hour or so to see if it is up and running and if it isn't, execute something, like send myself an email.     I'm writing a genetic algorithm for generating timetables. At the moment I'm using these two heuristics: Number of holes between lectures in one day (related) (less holes - bigger score) Each hour has some value, so for each timetable I sum values for hours when lectures are on. (lectures at more appropriate hours - bigger score) I want to balance these two heuristics, so the algorithm wouldn't favor neither one. What would be the best way to achieve this?

    My question is, should I be running one or both of the shrink command regularly, DBCC SHRINKDATABASE OR DBCC SHRINKFILE ============================= background Sql Server: Database is 200 gigs, logs are 150 gigs. running this command SELECT name ,size/128.0 - CAST(FILEPROPERTY(name, 'SpaceUsed') AS int) / 128.0 AS AvailableSpaceInMB FROM sys.database_files;` produces this output.. MyDB: 159.812500 MB free MyDB_Log: 149476.390625 MB free So it seems there is some free space. We backup transaction logs every hour, diff backup 5 nights a week, full backup the other 2 nights of the week.

    I can't seem to get the correct Unix epoch time out of this PHP DateTime object. $startingDateTime = "2005/08/15 1:52:01 am"; $foo = new DateTime($startingDateTime, new DateTimeZone("America/New_York")); echo $foo-format('U'); which gives 1124085121 Which is Mon, 15 Aug 2005 00:52:01 GMT -500 (according to http://www.epochconverter.com/) but that's incorrect by an hour. It SHOULD be 1124088721 and spit back at me as Mon, 15 Aug 2005 01:52:01 GMT -500 Any help would be appreciated.

  • Is it possible to add IPTC data to a JPG using python when no such data already exists?

    With the IPTCInfo module under Python (http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/768 for more info) it's possible to read, modify and write IPTC info to pictures. However, if a JPG doesn't already have IPTC information, the module simply raises an exception. It doesn't seem to be able to create and add this metadata information itself. What alternatives are there? I've googled for the past hour but to no avail whatsoever.

    hi I have a aggregate column present the microsecond, a report(with jasper) have to show HH:mm:ss of this indicator What I did is using SEC_TO_TIME(sum(col)/1000) , but when mapping to java.sql.Time, i doesn't work when the value of hour in result pass over 24(ex:36:33:33) Then I think another way, not using sec_to_time, just mapping the microsecond as Bigdecimal, but dunno what java class shoud i use to format date as the default format of hh:mm:ss is limit to 24...?

  • Subroutine to apply Daylight Bias to display time in local DST?

    UK is currently 1 hour ahead of UTC due to Daylight Savings Time. When I check the Daylight Bias value from GetTimeZoneInformation it is currently -60. Does that mean that translating UTC to DST means DST = UTC + -1 * DaylightBias, ie negate and add? I thought in this case for instance adding Daylight Bias to UTC is the correct operation, hence requiring DaylightBias to be 60 rather than -60.
