  • Archive log transfer from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g

    - by Jamie Love
Hi all, I have a situation where I need to transfer Oracle 9i archive logs to an Oracle 10g database, from where they are to be mined by a log-miner and then used by an Oracle streams capture/apply processes. (Oracle 9 archive logs can be read by the Oracle 10 logminer - I can manually copy the archive logs across, manually register them and have them mined, captured then applied). The difficulty is that the way Oracle does archive log transfer changed quite a bit between 9i and 10g and setting up the 9i database to transfer to the remote machine like so: log_archive_dest_state_2 = enable log_archive_dest_2 = "service=OTHERMACHINE arch optional" no longer works. I get this in the 9i logs: *** 2009-05-22 04:03:44.149 RFS network connection lost at host 'OTHERMACHINE' Error 3113 attaching RFS server to standby instance at host 'OTHERMACHINE' Error 3113 attaching to destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 standby host 'OTHERMACHINE' Heartbeat failed to connect to standby 'OTHERMACHINE'. Error is 3113. *** 2009-05-22 04:03:44.150 kcrrfail: dest:2 err:3113 force:0 ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel And in the 10g log I get: Fri May 22 04:07:42 2009 WARNING: inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136) My question is: Does anyone know how I could configure my 9i or 10g server such that the 10g server will accept the 9i connection in such a way that I can transfer the 9i archive logs to the 10g server. It would be a bonus if the archive logs would be automatically registered in the 10g server. Note I have not set up a full DataGuard configuration here and the 10g database is not a secondary server. Thanks for any suggestions. Edit Note that I can log on to the 10g server from the 9i server via sqlplus, so connectivity is not the problem Edit 2 After a large amount of time searching for a solution, I've finally decided that such a mechanism doesn't work, and that a non-Oracle method of transferring archive logs from 9i to 10g will need to be used (e.g. rsync).

  • javascript class calling XMLHttpRequest internally, then handling onreadystatechange

    - by Radu M
this thing almost works: function myClass(url) { this.source = url; this.rq = null; this.someOtherProperty = "hello"; // open connection to the ajax server this.start = function() { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { this.rq = new XMLHttpRequest(); if (this.rq.overrideMimeType) this.rq.overrideMimeType("text/xml"); } else this.rq = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); try { this.rq.onreadystatechange = connectionEvent; this.rq.open("GET", this.source, true); this.rq.send(null); this.state = 1; } catch (err) { // some error handler here } } function connectionEvent() { alert("i'm here"); alert("this doesnt work: " + this.someOtherProperty); } } // myClass so it's nothing more than having the XMLHttpRequest object as a member of my class, instead of globally defined, and invoking it in the traditional way. however, inside my connectionEvent callback function, the meaning of "this" is lost, even though the function itself is scoped inside myClass. i also made sure that the object that i instantiate from myClass is kept alive long enough (declared global in the script). in all the examples of using javascript classes that i saw, "this" was still available inside the inner functions. for me, it is not, even if i take my function outside and make it a myClass.prototype.connectionEvent. what am i doing wrong? thank you.

  • Automation Error upon running VBA script in Excel

    - by brohjoe
Hi guys, I'm getting an Automation error upon running VBA code in Excel 2007. I'm attempting to connect to a remote SQL Server DB and load data to from Excel to SQL Server. The error I get is, "Run-time error '-2147217843(80040e4d)': Automation error". I checked out the MSDN site and it suggested that this may be due to a bug associated with the sqloledb provider and one way to mitigate this is to use ODBC. Well I changed the connection string to reflect ODBC provider and associated parameters and I'm still getting the same error. Here is the code with ODBC as the provider: Dim cnt As ADODB.Connection Dim rst As ADODB.Recordset Dim stSQL As String Dim wbBook As Workbook Dim wsSheet As Worksheet Dim rnStart As Range Public Sub loadData() 'This was set up using Microsoft ActiveX Data Components version 6.0. 'Create ADODB connection object, open connection and construct the connection string object. Set cnt = New ADODB.Connection cnt.ConnectionString = _ "Driver={SQL Server}; Server=onlineSQLServer2010.foo.com; Database=fooDB Uid=logonalready;Pwd='helpmeOB1';" cnt.Open On Error GoTo ErrorHandler 'Open Excel and run query to export data to SQL Server. strSQL = "SELECT * INTO SalesOrders FROM OPENDATASOURCE('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', & _ "'Data Source=C:\Database.xlsx; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0')...[SalesOrders$]" cnt.Execute (strSQL) 'Error handling. • Appengine datastore phantom entity - inconsistent state?

    - by aloo
Getting a weird error on java appengine code that used to work fine (nothing has changed but the data in the datastore). I'm trying to iterate over the results of a query and change a few properties of the entities. The query does return a set of results, however, when I try to access the first result in the list, it throws an exception when trying to access any of its properties (but its key). Here's the exception: org.datanucleus.state.JDOStateManagerImpl isLoaded: Exception thrown by StateManager.isLoaded Could not retrieve entity of kind OnTheCan with key OnTheCan(3204258) org.datanucleus.exceptions.NucleusObjectNotFoundException: Could not retrieve entity of kind OnTheCan with key OnTheCan(3204258) at org.datanucleus.store.appengine.DatastoreExceptionTranslator.wrapEntityNotFoundException(DatastoreExceptionTranslator.java:60) And here is my code: PersistenceManager pm = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); Query query = null; List<OnTheCan> cans; query = pm.newQuery("SELECT this FROM " + OnTheCan.class.getName() + " WHERE open == true ORDER BY onTheCanId ASC"); query.setRange(0, num); cans = (List<OnTheCan>) query.execute(); for (OnTheCan c : cans) { System.err.println(c.getOnTheCanId()); // this works fine! getting the key works c.setOpen(false); // failure here with the above exception c.setAutoClosed(true); c.setEndTime(new Date(c.getStartTime().getTime() + 600000/*10*60*1000*/)); } pm.close(); The code throws the exception when trying to execute c.setOpen(false) - thats the first time I'm accessing or setting a property that isnt the key. So it seems there is a phantom entity in my datastore with key 3204258. THis entity doesn't really exist (queried the datastore from admin console) but for some reason its being returned by the query. Could my data store be in an inconsistent state? I've managed the following workaround by placing it as the first line in my for loop. Clearly an ugly hack: if (c.getOnTheCanId() == 3204258) { continue; } Any ideas?

  • Difficulty setting ArrayList to java.sql.Blob to save in DB using hibernate

    - by me_here
I'm trying to save a java ArrayList in a database (H2) by setting it as a blob, for retrieval later. If this is a bad approach, please say - I haven't been able to find much information on this area. I have a column of type Blob in the database, and Hibernate maps to this with java.sql.Blob. The code I'm struggling with is: Drawings drawing = new Drawings(); try { ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = null; oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(plan.drawingPane21.pointList); byte[] buff = bos.toByteArray(); Blob drawingBlob = null; drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); drawing.setDrawingObject(drawingBlob); } catch (Exception e){ System.err.println(e); } The object I'm trying to save into a blob (plan.drawingPane21.pointList) is of type ArrayList<DrawingDot>, DrawingDot being a custom class implementing Serializable. My code is failing on the line drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); with a NullPointerException. Help appreciated.

  • Usage of putty in command line from Hudson

    - by kij
Hi, I'm trying to use putty in command line from an hudson job. The command is the following one: putty -ssh -2 -P 22 USERNAME@SERVER_ADDR -pw PASS -m command.txt Where 'command.txt' is a shell script to execute in the server through SSH. If i launch this command from the Window command prompt, it works, the shell script is executed on the server machine. If i launch a build of the hudson job configured with this batch command, it doesn't work. The build is running... and running... and running.. without doing anything, and i have to stop it manually. So my question is: Is it possible to launch an external programm (i.e. putty) from an hudson job ? ps: i tried SSH plugin but... not a really good plugin (pre/post build, fail status of the commands launched not caught by hudson, etc.) Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards. kij EDIT: These are the build logs: [workspace] $ cmd /c call C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\hudson7429256014041663539.bat C:\Hudson\jobs\Artifact deployer\workspace>putty -ssh -2 -P 22 USER@SERV_ADD -pw PASS -m com.txt Le build a été annulé Finished: ABORTED And the Hudson.err.log file at the same time (after a stop): 3 juin 2010 18:27:28 hudson.model.Run run INFO: Artifact deployer #6 aborted java.lang.InterruptedException at java.lang.ProcessImpl.waitFor(Native Method) at hudson.Proc$LocalProc.join(Proc.java:179) at hudson.Launcher$ProcStarter.join(Launcher.java:278) at hudson.tasks.CommandInterpreter.perform(CommandInterpreter.java:83) at hudson.tasks.CommandInterpreter.perform(CommandInterpreter.java:58) at hudson.tasks.BuildStepMonitor$1.perform(BuildStepMonitor.java:19) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.perform(AbstractBuild.java:601) at hudson.model.Build$RunnerImpl.build(Build.java:174) at hudson.model.Build$RunnerImpl.doRun(Build.java:138) at hudson.model.AbstractBuild$AbstractRunner.run(AbstractBuild.java:416) at hudson.model.Run.run(Run.java:1241) at hudson.model.FreeStyleBuild.run(FreeStyleBuild.java:46) at hudson.model.ResourceController.execute(ResourceController.java:88) at hudson.model.Executor.run(Executor.java:124) My shell script only write "hello" in a "hello.txt" file on the server, and nothing is done.

  • RMI no such object in table, Server communication error

    - by ben-casey
My goal is to create a Distributed computing program that launches a server and client at the same time. I need it to be able to install on a couple of machines and have all the machines communicating with each other, i.e. Master node and 5 slave nodes all from one application. My problem is that I cannot properly use unicastRef, I'm thinking that it is a problem with launching everything on the same port, is there a better way I am overlooking? this is part of my code (the part that matters) try { RMIServer obj = new RMIServer(); obj.start(5225); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } try { System.out.println("We are slave's "); Registry rr = LocateRegistry.getRegistry("127.0.0.1", Store.PORT, new RClient()); Call ss = (Call) rr.lookup("FILLER"); System.out.println(ss.getHello()); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } this is my main class (above) this is the server class (below) public RMIServer() { } public void start(int port) throws Exception { try { Registry registry = LocateRegistry.createRegistry(port, new RClient(), new RServer()); Call stuff = new Call(); registry.bind("FILLER", stuff); System.out.println("Server ready"); } catch (Exception e) { System.err.println("Server exception: " + e.toString()); e.printStackTrace(); } } I don't know what I am missing or what I am overlooking but the output looks like this. • LPX-00607 for ora:contains in java but not sqlplus

    - by Windle
Hey all, I am trying to doing some sql querys out of Oracle 11g and am having issues using ora:contains. I am using spring's jdbc impl and my code generates the sql statement: select * from view_name where column_a = ? and column_b = ? and existsNode(xmltype(clob_column), 'record/name [ora:contains(text(), "name1") 0]', 'xmlns:ora="http://xmlns.oralce.com/xdb"') = 1 I have removed the actual view / column names obviously, but when I copy that into sqlplus and substitute in random values, the select executes properly. When I try to run it in my DAO code I get this stack trace: org.springframework.jdbc.UncatergorizedSQLException: PreparedStatementCallback; uncatergorizedSQLException for SQL [the big select above]; SQL state [99999]; error code [31011]; ORA-31011: XML parsing failed. ORA-19202: Error occured in XML processing LPX-00607: Invalid reference: 'contains' ;nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occured in XML processing LPX-00607: Invalid reference: 'contains' (continues on like this for awhile....) I think it is worth mentioning that I am using maven and it is possible I am missing some dependency that is required for this. Sorry the post is so long, but I wanted to err on the side of too much info. Thanks for taking the time to read this at least =) -Windle

  • Passing VB Callback function to C dll - noob is stuck.

    - by WaveyDavey
Callbacks in VB (from C dll). I need to pass a vb function as a callback to a c function in a dll. I know I need to use addressof for the function but I'm getting more and more confused as to how to do it. Details: The function in the dll that I'm passing the address of a callback to is defined in C as : PaError Pa_OpenStream( PaStream** stream, const PaStreamParameters *inputParameters, const PaStreamParameters *outputParameters, double sampleRate, unsigned long framesPerBuffer, PaStreamFlags streamFlags, PaStreamCallback *streamCallback, void *userData ); where the function is parameter 7, *streamCallback. The type PaStreamCallback is defines thusly: typedef int PaStreamCallback( const void *input, void *output, unsigned long frameCount, const PaStreamCallbackTimeInfo* timeInfo, PaStreamCallbackFlags statusFlags, void *userData ); In my vb project I have: Private Declare Function Pa_OpenStream Lib "portaudio_x86.dll" _ ( ByVal stream As IntPtr _ , ByVal inputParameters As IntPtr _ , ByVal outputParameters As PaStreamParameters _ , ByVal samprate As Double _ , ByVal fpb As Double _ , ByVal paClipoff As Long _ , ByVal patestCallBack As IntPtr _ , ByVal data As IntPtr) As Integer (don't worry if I've mistyped some of the other parameters, I'll get to them later! Let's concentrate on the callback for now.) In module1.vb I have defined the callback function: Function MyCallback( ByVal inp As Byte, _ ByVal outp As Byte, _ ByVal framecount As Long, _ ByVal pastreamcallbacktimeinfo As Byte, _ ByVal pastreamcallbackflags As Byte, _ ByVal userdata As Byte) As Integer ' do clever things here End Function The external function in the dll is called with err = Pa_OpenStream( ptr, _ nulthing, _ outputParameters, _ SAMPLE_RATE, _ FRAMES_PER_BUFFER, _ clipoff, _ AddressOf MyCallback, _ dataptr) This is broken in the declaration of the external function - it doesn't like the type IntPtr as a function pointer for AddressOf. Can anyone show me how to implement passing this callback function please ? Many thanks David

  • Bypassing confirmation prompt of an external process

    - by Alidad
    How can I convert this Perl code to Groovy? How to bypass confirmation prompts of an external process? I am trying to convert a Perl script to Groovy. The program is loading/delete maestro (job scheduling) jobs automatically. The problem is the delete command will prompt for confirmation (Y/N) on every single job that it finds. I tried the process execute in groovy but will stop at the prompts. The Perl script is writing bunch of Ys to the stream and print it to the handler( if I understood it correctly) to avoid stopping. I am wondering how to do the same thing in Groovy ? Or any other approach to execute a command and somehow write Y on every confirmation prompt. Perl Script: $maestrostring=""; while ($x < 1500) { $maestrostring .= "y\n"; $x++; } # delete the jobs open(MAESTRO_CMD, "|ssh mserver /bin/composer delete job=pserver#APPA@") print MAESTRO_CMD $maestrostring; close(MAESTRO_CMD); This is my groovy code so far: def deleteMaestroJobs (){ ... def commandSched ="ssh $maestro_server /bin/composer delete sched=$primary_server#$app_acronym$app_level@" def commandJobs ="ssh $maestro_server /bin/composer delete job=$primary_server#$app_acronym$app_level@" try { executeCommand commandJobs } catch (Exception ex ){ throw new Exception("Error executing the Maestro Composer [DELETE]") } try { executeCommand commandSched } catch (Exception ex ){ throw new Exception("Error executing the Maestro Composer [DELETE]") } } def executeCommand(command){ def process = command.execute() process.withWriter { writer -> 1500.times {writer.println 'Y' } } process.consumeProcessOutput(System.out, System.err) process.waitFor() }

  • storing and retrieving socket

    - by Trevor Newhook
    From what I can understand, once I create a socket, I can then create an array to store it with userArray[socket.nickname]=socket; I can then send a message to it with: io.sockets.socket(userArray[data.to]).emit('private message', tstamp(), socket.nickname, message); The basic logic is to store a copy of each socket in an object, identified by nickname. When I want to send a message to that socket, I use the copy of the socket, and send the message via io.sockets.socket(id).emit(). The entire server code is below: io.sockets.on('connection', function (socket) { socket.on('user message', function (msg) { socket.broadcast.emit('user message', tstamp(), socket.nickname, msg); updateLog('user message', socket.nickname, msg); }); socket.on('private message', function(data) { socket.get(data.nickname, function (err, name) { console.log('Chat message by ', name); }); updateLog('private message', socket.nickname, data.message); message=data.message; io.sockets.socket(userArray[data.to]).emit('private message', tstamp(), socket.nickname, message); }); socket.on('get log', function () { updateLog(); // Ensure old entries are cleared out before sending it. io.sockets.emit('chat log', log); }); socket.on('nickname', function (nick, fn) { var i = 1; var orignick = nick; while (nicknames[nick]) { nick = orignick+i; i++; } fn(nick); nicknames[nick] = socket.nickname = nick; userArray[socket.nickname]=socket; socket.set('nickname', nick, function () { socket.emit('ready'); }); socket.broadcast.emit('announcement', nick + ' connected'); // io.sockets.socket(userArray[nick]).emit('newID', 'Your name is: ' + nick, '. Your ID is: '+ userArray[nick]); io.sockets.emit('nicknames', nicknames); });

  • Can't get past 2542 Threads in Java on 4GB iMac OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard (32bit)

    - by fuzzy lollipop
I am running the following program trying to figure out how to configure my JVM to get the maximum number of threads my machine can support. For those that might not know, Snow Leopard ships with Java 6. I tried starting it with defaults, and the following command lines, I always get the Out of Memory Error at Thread 2542 no matter what the JVM options are set to. java TestThreadStackSizes 100000 java -Xss1024 TestThreadStackSizes 100000 java -Xmx128m -Xss1024 TestThreadStackSizes 100000 java -Xmx2048m -Xss1024 TestThreadStackSizes 100000 java -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -Xss1024 TestThreadStackSizes 100000 no matter what I pass it, I get the same results, Out of Memory Error at 2542 public class TestThreadStackSizes { public static void main(final String[] args) { Thread.currentThread().setUncaughtExceptionHandler(new Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler() { public void uncaughtException(final Thread t, final Throwable e) { System.err.println(e.getMessage()); System.exit(1); } }); int numThreads = 1000; if (args.length == 1) { numThreads = Integer.parseInt(args[0]); } for (int i = 0; i < numThreads; i++) { try { Thread t = new Thread(new SleeperThread(i)); t.start(); } catch (final OutOfMemoryError e) { throw new RuntimeException(String.format("Out of Memory Error on Thread %d", i), e); } } } private static class SleeperThread implements Runnable { private final int i; private SleeperThread(final int i) { this.i = i; } public void run() { try { System.out.format("Thread %d about to sleep\n", this.i); Thread.sleep(1000 * 60 * 60); } catch (final InterruptedException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } } } Any ideas on now I can affect these results?

  • Check if the internet cannot be accessed in Python

    - by Sridhar Ratnakumar
I have an app that makes a HTTP GET request to a particular URL on the internet. But when the network is down (say, no public wifi - or my ISP is down, or some such thing), I get the following traceback at urllib.urlopen: 70, in get u = urllib2.urlopen(req) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 126, in urlopen return _opener.open(url, data, timeout) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 391, in open response = self._open(req, data) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 409, in _open '_open', req) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 369, in _call_chain result = func(*args) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 1161, in http_open return self.do_open(httplib.HTTPConnection, req) File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/urllib2.py", line 1136, in do_open raise URLError(err) URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 8] nodename nor servname provided, or not known> I want to print a friendly error to the user telling him that his network maybe down instead of this unfriendly "nodename nor servname provided" error message. Sure I can catch URLError, but that would catch every url error, not just the one related to network downtime. I am not a purist, so even an error message like "The server example.com cannot be reached; either the server is indeed having problems or your network connection is down" would be nice. How do I go about selectively catching such errors? (For a start, if DNS resolution fails at urllib.urlopen, that can be reasonably assumed as network inaccessibility? If so, how do I "catch" it in the except block?)

  • handling java exception

    - by Noona
This questions is related to java exception, why are there some cases that when an exception thrown the program exits even though the exception was caught and there was no exit() statement? my code looks something like this void bindProxySocket(DefaultHttpClientConnection proxyConnection, String hostName, HttpParams params) { if (!proxyConnection.isOpen()) { Socket socket = null; try { socket = new Socket(hostName, 80); } catch (UnknownHostException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } try { proxyConnection.bind(socket, params); } catch(IOException e) { System.err.println ("couldn't bind socket"); e.printStackTrace(); } } } and then I call this method like this: bindProxySocket(proxyConn, hostName, params1); but, the program exits, although I want to handle the exception by doing something else, can it be because I didn't enclose the method call within a try catch clause? what happens if I catch the exception again even though it's already in the method? and what should I do if i want to clean resources only if an exception occurs and otherwise I want to continue with the program? I am guessing in this case I have to include the whole piece of code until I can clean the resources with in a try statement or can I do it in the handle exception statement? some of these questions are on this specific case, but I would like to get a thorough answer to all my questions for future reference. thanks

Should I use the second solution or I should try to optimize the prep stmt?

  • String.Format Phone Numbers with Extension

How ever when more than 10 digits are passed in I want the String.Format method to append the extension digits on the right. For example: When 14 digits passed in the result should be:(444)555-2222 x8888 When 12 digits passed in the result should be:(444)555-2222 x88 etc. However what I get with my current attempt is: Passing in 12 digits returns this string '() -949 x555444433' here is what I have so far. public static string _FormatPhone(object phonevalue) { Int64 phoneDigits; if (Int64.TryParse(phonevalue.ToString(), out phoneDigits)) { string cleanPhoneDigits = phoneDigits.ToString(); int digitCount = cleanPhoneDigits.Length; if (digitCount == 10) return String.Format("{0:(###) ###-####}", phoneDigits); else if (digitCount > 10) return String.Format("{0:(###) ###-#### x#########}", phoneDigits); else return cleanPhoneDigits; } return "Format Err#"; } Thanks in advance.

  • How do I best remove the unicode characters that XHTML regards as non-valid using php?

    - by Andrew Stacey
I run a forum designed to support an international mathematics group. I've recently switched it to unicode for better support of international characters. In debugging this conversion, I've discovered that not all unicode characters are considered as valid XHTML (the relevant website appears to be http://www.w3.org/TR/unicode-xml/). One of the steps that the forum software goes through before presenting the posts to the browser is an XHTML validation/sanitisation step. It seems a reasonable idea that at that stage it should remove any unicode characters that XHTML doesn't like. So my question is: Is there a standard (or best) way of doing this in PHP? (The forum is written in PHP, by the way.) I guess that the failsafe would be a simple str_replace (if that's also the best, do I need to do anything extra to make sure it works properly with unicode?) but that would involve me having to go through the XHTML DTD (or the above-referenced W3 page) carefully to figure out what characters to list in the search part of str_replace, so if this is the best way, has someone already done that so that I can steal, err, copy, it? (Incidentally, the character that caused the problem was U+000C, the 'formfeed', which (according to the W3 page) is valid HTML but invalid XHTML!)

  • Node.js/ v8: How to make my own snapshot to accelerate startup

    - by Anand
I have a node.js (v0.6.12) application that starts by evaluating a Javascript file, startup.js. It takes a long time to evaluate startup.js, and I'd like to 'bake it in' to a custom build of Node if possible. The v8 source directory distributed with Node, node/deps/v8/src, contains a SconScript that can almost be used to do this. On line 302, we have LIBRARY_FILES = ''' runtime.js v8natives.js array.js string.js uri.js math.js messages.js apinatives.js date.js regexp.js json.js liveedit-debugger.js mirror-debugger.js debug-debugger.js '''.split() Those javascript files are present in the same directory. Something in the build process apparently evaluates them, takes a snapshot of state, and saves it as a byte string in node/out/Release/obj/release/snapshot.cc (on Mac OS). Some customization of the startup snapshot is possible by altering the SconScript. For example, I can change the definition of the builtin Date.toString by altering date.js. I can even add new global variables by adding startup.js to the list of library files, with contents global.test = 1. However, I can't put just any javascript code in startup.js. If it contains Date.toString = 1;, an error results even though the code is valid at the node repl: Build failed: -> task failed (err #2): {task: libv8.a SConstruct -> libv8.a} make: *** [program] Error 1 And it obviously can't make use of code that depends on libraries Node adds to v8. global.underscore = require('underscore'); causes the same error. I'd ideally like a tool, customSnapshot, where customSnapshot startup.js evaluates startup.js with node and then dumps a snapshot to a file, snapshot.cc, which I can put into the node source directory. I can then build node and tell it not to rebuild the snapshot.

  • Replacing .NET WebBrowser control with a better browser, like Chrome?

    - by Sylverdrag
Is there any relatively easy way to insert a modern browser into a .NET application? As far as I understand, the WebBrowser control is a wrapper for IE, which wouldn't be a problem except that it looks like it is a very old version of IE, with all that entails in terms of CSS screw-ups, potential security risks (if the rendering engine wasn't patched, can I really expect the zillion buffer overflow problems to be fixed?), and other issues. I am using Visual Studio C# (express edition - does it make any difference here?) I would like to integrate a good web browser in my applications. In some, I just use it to handle the user registration process, interface with some of my website's features and other things of that order, but I have another application in mind that will require more err... control. I need: A browser that can integrate inside a window of my application (not a separate window) A good support for CSS, js and other web technologies, on par with any modern browser Basic browser functions like "navigate", "back", "reload"... Liberal access to the page code and output. I was thinking about Chrome, since it comes under the BSD license, but I would be just as happy with a recent version of IE. As much as possible, I would like to keep things simple. The best would be if one could patch the existing WebBrowser control, which does already about 70% of what I need, but I don't think that's possible. I have found an activeX control for Mozilla (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/control.htm) but it looks like it's an old version, so it's not necessarily an improvement. I am open to suggestions

  • Where to put a textfile I want to use in eclipse?

    - by Jayomat
hi there, I need to read a text file when I start my program. I'm using eclipse and started a new java project. In my project folder I got the "src" folder and the standard "JRE System Library"... I just don't know where to put the text file. I cannot use a "hard coded" path because the text file needs to be included with my app... I also tried to create a new folder like "Files" and use the pathe "Files/staedteliste.txt".. doesn't work too... I use the following code to read the file, but I get this error: Error:java.io.FileNotFoundException:staedteliste.txt(No such file or directory) import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.FileReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.util.ArrayList; public class Test { ArrayList<String[]> values; public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub loadList(); } public static void loadList() { BufferedReader reader; String zeile = null; try { reader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("staedteliste.txt")); zeile = reader.readLine(); ArrayList<String[]> values = new ArrayList<String[]>(); while (zeile != null) { values.add(zeile.split(";")); zeile = reader.readLine(); } System.out.println(values.size()); System.out.println(zeile); } catch (IOException e) { System.err.println("Error :"+e); } } } thx for help!

Why? I'm willing to uppload entire solution on some server otherwise it's hard to put everything in here. I can also upload video file. Another thing is that when I implement this assignment optor I'm getting an error that this optor is already in obj file? What's going on?

  • Populate a form from SQL

    - by xrum
Hi, I am trying to populate a web from from a SQL table. This is what I have right now, though I am not sure if it's the best way to do things, please give me suggestions: Public Class userDetails Public address1 As String Public address2 As String Public city As String ... ... ... End Class Public Class clsPerson 'set SQL connection Dim objFormat As New clsFormat Dim objConn As New clsConn() Dim connStr As String = objConn.getConn() Dim myConnection As New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection(connStr) Public Function GetPersonDetails() As userDetails 'connection and all other good stuff here Try ' Execute the command myConnection.Open() dr = myCommand.ExecuteReader() ' Make sure a record was returned If dr.Read() Then ' Create and Populate ApplicantDetails userDetails.address1 = dr("address1") userDetails.address2 = objFormat.CheckNull(dr("address2")) userDetails.city = objFormat.CheckNull(dr("city")) .... Else Err.Raise(4938, "clsUser", "Error in GetUserDetails - User Not Found") End If dr.Close() Finally myConnection.Close() End Try Return userDetails End Function i then use GetPersonDetails() function in my backend to populate the form. like so: Dim userDetails as new userDetails userdetails = getPersonDetails() txtAddress.text = userdetails.address1 etc.... however, there are like 50 fields in the User db, and it seems like a lot of retyping... please help me find a better way to do this. Thank you!
