  • Considering ATK Framework

    Has anybody used the ATK Framework? It is claimed to be geared toward developing apps for business use. Manipulating data, knowledge bases, etc... This is what I primarily develop (on the side-for my own use). The site hasn't given me a great overview of why it may be better than other frameworks. What are your thoughts / experiences with this product?

  • NUNIT + VS2010 = Unable to copy file from /obj to /bin...being used by another process

    I am trying to run some unit tests using NUnit while I have the project open, and VS 2010 cannot rebuild the project while the assembly is loaded in NUnit. I have looked around and haven't found any solutions that seen to fix it. I can close NUnit, then the project builds fine. This is a the same solution based on Rob Conery's BDD demo found here: http://tekpub.com/view/concepts/5 Any thoughts?

  • Hibernate Lazy Loading Proxy Incompatable w/ Other Frameworks

    I've come across several instances where frameworks that take POJOs to do some work crap-out with proxied hibernate beans. For example if I xml annotate a bean for framework X and pass it to framework X it doesn't recognise the bean because it is passed the proxied object - which has no annotations for framework X. Is there a common solution to this? I'd prefer not to define the bean as eager loaded, or turn of lazy-loading anywhere in the application. Thoughts? Thanks.

    Is it possible to take a screen capture of a particular area of a web-page from the web-page's own ASP.NET code? I need to display 6 images that are stacked on top of one another using CSS, and I'd like to offer the user the ability to right-click save-as if possible by stacking the screen capture on top top of the original image stack. Any thoughts? Please don't answer with "Visual Studio"! I'm after something very lightweight (if it exists).

    Currently we are doing a payroll application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (.Net 3.5) using some of the latest features like WCF, WF and the development for the same has almost completed. However, clients have shown their interest in migrating the developed payroll application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (.Net 3.5) to Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (.Net 4.0). I don't have an idea about the expected challenges in the migration or if its just going to be very smooth. Any thoughts or comments?

  • Custom warning in Xcode

    I'm working on an API library and I'd like to add a few warnings that would appear when another developers builds the app if an optional apikey is not included. It should be buildable w/o the key (since it's optional) so I can't just add a syntax error to force a build error. I know Xcode supports TODO and FIXME but those aren't really highlighted anywhere major. Any other thoughts on how to approach this?

    Currently, for things like background images, our css files have no domain specified. This works both in our development and production environments. background-image: url(/images/bg.png); For performance reasons (cookie-less domain), we'd like to switch this: background-image: url(http://staticimagedomain.com/images/bg.png); Ideally, we don't hard code those, so our development environments can still pull locally. Any thoughts on how to best achieve this?

  • SPAZ to connect to Laconica

    I installed a local version of Laconica microblogging in my env. Then I downlowaded SPAZ (an AIR client) to try and talk to the Laconica app. I get an authenitcation error. I have put in the appropriate credentials - I think :) But I think that I have to alter the API and base URL for connecting. Ayone have any thoughts on how to make these two apps talk ?     My C# application has several background workers. Sometimes one background worker will fire off another. When the first background worker completes and the RunWorkerCompleted event is fired, on which thread will that event fire, the UI or the first background worker from which RunWorkerAsync was called?   • Increasing the character length of the Title Column in Sharepoint Site

    Is it possible to increase the length of the Title column for a site above the 255 characters. My requirement is that I use a field that is longer than the maximum 255 chars but because the Title column is a required field I need to enter something in it. Rather than enter garbage just because I have to, I would like to use it. If not, then my current thoughts for a workaround will be make a copy of the first 255 chars of a seperate column that I am able to make longer.

    I have just downloaded the fresh copy of phppowerpoint and added the following line of code 'phppowerpoint' = MODPATH.'phppowerpoint', and now my page got blank and I got the following error: The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must to be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol. Any thoughts? Thanks.
