  • How to create managed properties at site collection level in SharePoint2013

    - by ybbest
    In SharePoint2013, you can create managed properties at site collection. Today, I’d like to show you how to do so through PowerShell. 1. Define your managed properties and crawled properties and managed property Type in an external csv file. PowerShell script will read this file and create the managed and the mapping. 2. As you can see I also defined variant Type, this is because you need the variant type to create the crawled property. In order to have the crawled properties, you need to do a full crawl and also make sure you have data populated for your custom column. However, if you do not want to a full crawl to create those crawled properties, you can create them yourself by using the PowerShell; however you need to make sure the crawled properties you created have the same name if created by a full crawl. Managed properties type: Text = 1 Integer = 2 Decimal = 3 DateTime = 4 YesNo = 5 Binary = 6 Variant Type: Text = 31 Integer = 20 Decimal = 5 DateTime = 64 YesNo = 11 3. You can use the following script to create your managed properties at site collection level, the differences for creating managed property at site collection level is to pass in the site collection id. param( [string] $siteUrl="http://SP2013/", [string] $searchAppName = "Search Service Application", $ManagedPropertiesList=(IMPORT-CSV ".\ManagedProperties.csv") ) Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue $searchapp = $null function AppendLog { param ([string] $msg, [string] $msgColor) $currentDateTime = Get-Date $msg = $msg + " --- " + $currentDateTime if (!($logOnly -eq $True)) { # write to console Write-Host -f $msgColor $msg } # write to log file Add-Content $logFilePath $msg } $scriptPath = Split-Path $myInvocation.MyCommand.Path $logFilePath = $scriptPath + "\CreateManagedProperties_Log.txt" function CreateRefiner {param ([string] $crawledName, [string] $managedPropertyName, [Int32] $variantType, [Int32] $managedPropertyType,[System.GUID] $siteID) $cat = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCategory –Identity SharePoint -SearchApplication $searchapp $crawledproperty = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCrawledProperty -Name $crawledName -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID if($crawledproperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Crawled Property for $managedPropertyName" Yellow $crawledproperty = New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCrawledProperty -SearchApplication $searchapp -VariantType $variantType -SiteCollection $siteID -Category $cat -PropSet "00130329-0000-0130-c000-000000131346" -Name $crawledName -IsNameEnum $false } $managedproperty = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataManagedProperty -Identity $managedPropertyName -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue if($managedproperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Managed Property for $managedPropertyName" Yellow $managedproperty = New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataManagedProperty -Name $managedPropertyName -Type $managedPropertyType -SiteCollection $siteID -SearchApplication $searchapp -Queryable:$true -Retrievable:$true -FullTextQueriable:$true -RemoveDuplicates:$false -RespectPriority:$true -IncludeInMd5:$true } $mappedProperty = $crawledproperty.GetMappedManagedProperties() | ?{$_.Name -eq $managedProperty.Name } if($mappedProperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Crawled -> Managed Property mapping for $managedPropertyName" Yellow New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataMapping -CrawledProperty $crawledproperty -ManagedProperty $managedproperty -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID } $mappedProperty = $crawledproperty.GetMappedManagedProperties() | ?{$_.Name -eq $managedProperty.Name } #Get-FASTSearchMetadataCrawledPropertyMapping -ManagedProperty $managedproperty } $searchapp = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication $searchAppName $site= Get-SPSite $siteUrl $siteId=$site.id Write-Host "Start creating Managed properties" $i = 1 FOREACH ($property in $ManagedPropertiesList) { $propertyName=$property.managedPropertyName $crawledName=$property.crawledName $managedPropertyType=$property.managedPropertyType $variantType=$property.variantType Write-Host $managedPropertyType Write-Host "Processing managed property $propertyName $($i)..." $i++ CreateRefiner $crawledName $propertyName $variantType $managedPropertyType $siteId Write-Host "Managed property created " $propertyName } Key Concepts Crawled Properties: Crawled properties are discovered by the search index service component when crawling content.   • Setting a WPF ContextMenu's PlacementTarget property in XAML?

  • Alternative to FindAncestor RelativeSource in Silverlight 4 to bind to a property of the page

    - by TimothyP
    Hi, FindAncestor RelativeSource only supports 'Self' and 'TemplatedParent', but I have to bind the width of a popup to the width of the page. Giving the page a name causes problems because sometimes it will throw exceptions saying a control with that name is already present in the visual tree. <Popup IsOpen="True" Width="{Binding ElementName=BordPage, Path=Width}" Height="{Binding ElementName=BordPage, Path=Height}"> Background information: I'm using a SL4 navigation based application here. BordPage is a navigation page, which I'm using multiple times within the application. So giving it a name in the page itself is not really a good idea, but I don't know how else I can bind to the width and height of the page. What I'm trying to do is have a black border (with opacity 0.8) cover the entire screen, (including the controls of the MainPage). Then on top of that I want to display some other controls. Since the application is touch controlled, providing the user with a ComboBox to select a value doesn't really work wel. Instead I want to show this black overlay window with a listbox taking up most of the screen so the user can simply touch the value he wants with a single click. Update: I just realized I can use the ChildWindow class to do this. But my original question remains.

  • WPF: Binding Combobox in Code Behind to Property

    - by Richard
    Hi All, This might be something very straight forward and I really think it should work as is, but it doesn't... I have the following scenario: var itemSource = new Binding { Path = new PropertyPath("ItemList"), Mode = BindingMode.OneTime }; comboBox.SetBinding(ItemsControl.ItemsSourceProperty, itemSource); ItemList is simply: public IList<string> ItemList { get { return Enum.GetNames(typeof(OptionsEnum)).ToList(); } } I would have expected this to bind the list of items to the Combobox, and when I do it in XAML it works fine, but I have to do it in code behind... Any ideas?

  • When querying the Win32_NTLogEvent Class from WMI with WQL is the TimeGenerated property based on Lo

    - by jpmcclung
    I am writing a C# windows service that is doing some churning through the eventlog on a few domain controllers. Some of them are Windows Server 2003 and some are Windows Server 2008. Upon the service stopping I am attempting to resume where I left off in the logs. In order to do this instead of SELECT * FROM Win32_NTLogEvent WHERE --criteria for events I am looking for I am doing SELECT * FROM Win32_NTLogEvent WHERE TimeGenerated = --some date AND --criteria for events I am looking for At one point I was convinced that the TimeGenerated field was in the local time of the server but now it seems that the Windows 2008 Servers are using GMT to record that time. Can anyone shed some light on if this is a real different between the way the two operating systems function or is this a configuration problem?

  • MVVM - ListBox SelectedItem Binding Property Going Null

    - by Peanut
    So i have a listbox: <ListBox x:Name="listbox" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="8,8,0,8" Width="272" BorderBrush="{x:Null}" Background="{x:Null}" Foreground="{x:Null}" ItemsSource="{Binding MenuItems}" ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource MenuItemsTemplate}" SelectionChanged="ListBox_SelectionChanged" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedItem}"> </ListBox> and i have this included in my viewmodel: public ObservableCollection<MenuItem> MenuItems { get { return menuitems; } set { menuitems = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("MenuItems"); } } public MenuItem SelectedItem { get { return selecteditem; } set { selecteditem = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } and also in my viewmodel: public void UpdateStyle() { ActiveHighlight = SelectedItem.HighlightColor; ActiveShadow = SelectedItem.ShadowColor; } So, the objective is to call UpdateStyle() whenever selectedchanged event is fired. So in the .CS file, i call UpdateStyle(). The problem is, whenever I get into the selectionchanged event method, my ViewModel.SelectedItem is always null. I tried debugging this to see if the binding was working correctly, and it is. When I click on an item in the listbox, the SelectedItem Set is triggered, setting the value... but somewhere inbetween that and the selected changed (In the CS File) It gets reset to Null. Can anyone help out? Thanks

  • Binding Contents of a ListBox to Selected Item from Another Listbox w/JSF & Managed Beans

    - by nieltown
    Hi there! I currently have a JSF application that uses two listboxes. The first, say ListBox1, contains a list of manufacturers; each option comes from the database (via a method getManufacturers in a class called QueryUtil), is populated dynamically, and its value is an integer ID. This part works so far. My goal is to populate a second listbox, say ListBox2, with a list of products sold by the manufacturer. This list of products will come from the database as well (products are linked to a manufacturer via a foreign key relationship, via a method getProducts in my QueryUtil class). How do I go about doing this? Please bear in mind that I've been working with JSF for under 24 hours; I'm willing to accept the fact that I'm missing something very rudimentary. Again, I've been able to populate the list of manufacturers just fine; unfortunately, adding the Products component gives me java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: argument type mismatch faces-config.xml <managed-bean> <managed-bean-name>ProductsBean</managed-bean-name> <managed-bean-class>com.nieltown.ProductsBean</managed-bean-class> <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope> <managed-property> <property-name>manufacturers</property-name> <property-class>java.util.ArrayList</property-class> <value>#{manufacturers}</value> </managed-property> <managed-property> <property-name>selectedManufacturer</property-name> <property-class>java.lang.Integer</property-name> <value>#{selectedManufacturer}</value> </managed-property> <managed-property> <property-name>products</property-name> <property-class>java.util.ArrayList</property-class> <value>#{products}</value> </managed-property> <managed-property> <property-name>selectedProduct</property-name> <property-class>java.lang.Integer</property-name> <value>#{selectedProducts}</value> <managed-property> </managed-bean> com.nieltown.ProductsBean public class ProductsBean { private List<SelectItem> manufacturers; private List<SelectItem> products; private Integer selectedManufacturer; private Integer selectedProduct; public ProductsBean() {} public Integer getSelectedManufacturer(){ return selectedManufacturer; } public void setSelectedManufacturer(Integer m){ selectedManufacturer = m; } public Integer getSelectedProduct(){ return selectedProduct; } public void setSelectedProduct(Integer p){ selectedProduct = p; } public List<SelectItem> getManufacturers(){ if(manufacturers == null){ SelectItem option; plans = new ArrayList<SelectItem>(); QueryUtil qu = new QueryUtil(); Map<Integer, String> manufacturersMap = qu.getManufacturers(); for(Map.Entry<Integer, String> entry : manufacturersMap.entrySet()){ option = new SelectItem(entry.getKey(),entry.getValue()); manufacturers.add(option); } } return manufacturers; } public void setManufacturers(List<SelectItem> l){ manufacturers = l; } public List<SelectItem> getProducts(){ if(products == null){ SelectItem option; products = new ArrayList<SelectItem>(); if(selectedPlan != null){ PMTQueryUtil pqu = new PMTQueryUtil(); Map<Integer, String> productsMap = pqu.getProducts(); for(Map.Entry<Integer, String> entry : productsMap.entrySet()){ option = new SelectItem(entry.getKey(),entry.getValue()); products.add(option); } } } return products; } public void setProducts(List<SelectItem> l){ products = l; } } JSP fragment <h:selectOneListbox id="manufacturerList" value="#{ProductsBean.selectedManufacturer}" size="10"> <f:selectItems value="#{ProductsBean.manufacturers}" /> </h:selectOneListbox> <h:selectOneListbox id="productList" value="#{PendingPlansBean.selectedProduct}" size="10"> <f:selectItems binding="#{ProductsBean.products}" /> </h:selectOneListbox>

  • How to Use DataSource Property in DataFormWebPart

    - by Bryan Shen
    I'm writing a custom web part that extends DataFormWebPart. public class MyCustomWebPart : DataFormWebPart{ // other methods public override void DataBind() { XmlDataSource source = new XmlDataSource() { Data = @" <Person> <name cap='true'>Bryan</name> <occupation>student</occupation> </Person> " }; DataSources.Add(source); base.DataBind(); } } The only noticeable thing I do is overriding the DataBind() method, where I use xml as the data source. After I deploy the web part, I set the following XSL to it: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xmp> <xsl:copy-of select="*"/> </xmp> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> This xsl will surround the input xml with a tag . So I expected the web part to display the original xml data as I wrote in C# code behind. But what shows up in the web part is this: <Person> <name cap="true" /> <occupation /> </Person> All the values within the inner-most tags disappear. What's going on? Can anybody help me? Thanks.

  • Symfony / Doctrine - How to filter form field by property in related model

    - by Dan
    I have a UserForm class which has a select list populated from a related model (specified by a foreign relationship in the yml) like so: $this->setWidget('report_id', new sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice(array('model' => $this->getRelatedModelName('Report')))); I'd like to filter the Report objects that come from this relation by one of the Report fields, "active" such that only Reports with active=1 appear in the form. I have a method, ReportTable::GetActiveReports() that performs the appropriate query and returns the filtered reports. So one option is to populate the Widget with the results of that function. Any tips on the syntax to do that? It seems to me the cleaner way is to use the UserFormFilter class to filter the reports by active=1 there. Unfortunately I couldn't find any documentation on how to use form filters (or really what they are), so maybe this is not the right solution. Is a Form Filter the appropriate tool for this job? It seems I should use the Doctrine_Record_Filter_Standard class as defined here: http://www.doctrine-project.org/api/orm/1.2/doctrine/doctrine_record_filter_standard.html But it's not clear to me the appropriate usage. Any guidance would be helpful. Thanks! Dan

  • Created nested model setting a property on nested model before save

    - by CWitty
    I have two models a Company and a User the Company has_many :users and the User belongs_to :company. I have a form such as: <%= form_for @company, data: {toggle: :validator}, novalidate: "novalidate", html: {role: :form} do |f| %> company fields Then in there I have <%= f.fields_for :users, @company.users.build do |user_form| %> A bunch of user fields It posts the data with the nested attributes of users_attributes: {"0" => {name: "Chad"}} But it doesn't create the user only the company object. Company Model class Company < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :users, dependent: :destroy has_many :contacts, dependent: :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :users accepts_nested_attributes_for :contacts attr_accessor :card_token, :users_attributes before_create :create_company_customer_token before_create :create_admin_user before_destroy :set_deleted_flag validates_presence_of :name, :phone_number private def create_admin_user self.users.first.admin = true end def set_deleted_flag self.deleted = true save users.each do |u| u.destroy end false end def create_company_customer_token begin customer = Stripe::Customer.create(description: "Company: #{self.name}", card: self.card_token, plan: self.plan) self.stripe_customer_id = customer['id'] rescue Stripe::StripeError => e self.errors.add(:stripe_customer_id, "Looks like we are having an issue at the moment, please try again shortly") @logger ||= Rails.logger @logger.error(e) end end end User Model class User < ActiveRecord::Base include Clearance::User has_many :messages belongs_to :company before_destroy :set_deleted_flag after_create :send_welcome_email validates_presence_of :first_name, :last_name validates_uniqueness_of :email, scope: :company_id, conditions: -> { where.not(deleted: true) } def name "#{first_name} #{last_name}" end private def set_deleted_flag self.deleted = true save end def send_welcome_email UserMailer.welcome_email(self).deliver end end
