    Does anybody know a good software tool to scan and repair sectors on harddisks (an alternative to the standard that is included with windows e.g. scandisk/chkdsk)?     Python offers an optional else clause in loop statements, which is executed if and only if the loop is not terminated by a break. For an interesting discussion about this neglected commodity, see this question. Here, I just wanted to know: if the very concept of this loop-else construct originates from another language (either theoretical or actually implemented), conversely, if it was taken up in any newer language. May be I should ask the former to Guido, but he surely is a too busy guy for such a futile inquiry. ;-)

    I read somewhere that the ultimate boot cd can diagnos computer problems in this case would this program help me get my windows xp back? When I turn on the screen and hit start windows normal or go to safe mode I get a flash of the win xp logo and then it goes to this error page. Can you tell from this message is it a hardware or software issue?

  • Connecting to an MS SQL Server from Silverlight?

    I have bunch of Chinese .wav files on my hard disk that I'm trying to convert into .mp3 with Audacity but it appear that Audacity can not read Chinese character songs but the .wav file display correctly on my 32 bits Win7 Ultimate(English) pc. I have to rename these Chinese character songs into English file name in order to convert them. Does anyone know if there is any software (prefer open source) that will take Chinese character file name(.wav) and convert it into .mp3 without renaming the file?

  • How to dock a window to an inside edge of a dual-monitor setup

    I have a dual monitor setup at work. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, and I would like to take advantage of the docking feature, whereby you can drag a window to the side of the monitor and have it expand and fill to half the screen. Trouble is, I would like to drag it to the inside edge(adjoining the other screen) and it does not activate. How would I go about activating this for the inside edge?

  • RDPClip is not launching when I use Remote Desktop

I can run it manually and copy/paste will work just fine, but I have no idea why it won't start automatically.   • Easy way to use Images in WPF

There seems to be no way where you can just select an option to tell it what picture to put indide the image control. I've seen so many sites within the last 10 minutes with atleast 10lines of code just to insert animage into a window. Is there an easier way?

    In my Core i5 desktop machine I tried to install windows 7 32 bit Ultimate. I received blue screen of death while installing OS. Earlier I had was 64 bit Windows vista which was working fine but now i cant install any of OS. When I try to re-install OS again same error screen pops up? how can I fix this ? I have 4GB of RAM installed does it have problems with 32 bit OS. When I install second OS I didn't reformat the entire hard disk.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium or better on a Netbook?

    I have a Netbook with Windows XP Home. Processor is an Atom N280 (1.66 GHz) with 2 GB of RAM. I noticed that newer Netbooks come with Windows 7, but as Starter Edition (which kinda sucks). I wonder if there is a technical reason for using Windows 7 Starter? Or would a better edition (x86) perform equally well? I'm currently considering Home Premium, but BitLocker and Offline Files might have me get Ultimate.
