    - by Chris Harrison
    I've been looking into JOIN, subqueries and other ways of doing this, but I can't work out the best way to do this is... I have a table (ps_category_product): id_product, id_category I want to perform a query on it like: SELECT id_product FROM ps_category_product WHERE id_category='$this_cat' BUT, I only want to perform this query where the ID's are returned by a query on another table (ps_product): id_product, active SELECT id_product FROM ps_product WHERE active='1' Can anyone help me with getting these two queries working together?

  • Recursive only 2 level records using common sql

    - by Tony
    I have an Employee table, it's a self-referencing table, with managerId refers to primary key empID. I want to find 2 level records by a given empId. For example: if given empId=5, if empId=5 has children records, display them, as well as the children in children records. You may also provide a recursive suggestion without level limitation. The database is SQL Server 2005.

(phone_numbers) is another table which contains the restaurants phone_numbers, and it has a field called (branch_id) which references the restaurant id. • MySQL: SUM in WHERE clause

    - by checcco
    Hi guys, I've got this table CREATE TABLE `subevents` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `title` varchar(150) DEFAULT NULL, `content` text, `class` tinyint(4) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM Each row can have a different value in the 'class' field. I'd like to select any number of rows, ordered randomly, as long as the sum of the values in the 'class' field is equal to 100. How could I accomplish it directly in the MySQL query without doing it later in PHP? Thanks everybody!

    Assume a Cassandra datastore with 20 rows, with row keys named "r1" .. "r20". Questions: How do I fetch the row keys of the first ten rows (r1 to r10)? How do I fetch the row keys of the next ten rows (r11 to r20)? I'm looking for the Cassandra analogy to: SELECT row_key FROM table LIMIT 0, 10; SELECT row_key FROM table LIMIT 10, 10;
