• Ubuntu 12.10 - WiFi keeps disconnecting (using a Proxy)

  I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my Acer Aspire One Netbook and everything works excellent except for the WiFi. When I click on a network I get connected but only for about one minute and then it says 'Disconnected - You are offline' It tries to reconnect and after a while it says 'Connection Established' It's a school network which uses no authentication but a proxy (172.16.4.1:8080) Can anyone help me? I'm new to Ubuntu and don't know a thing. Thanks for your help :)

• Dependency not satisfiable - Offline deb package install

  I have a new installation that has no chance of an internet connection. Since I want to add a few development software packages, I downloaded a few *.deb files. The problem is that for every package I try to install I get the same error: "Dependency not satisfiable...." Also downloaded other versions of that software (the deb files) but it didn't work. I've researched other questions in here and Google and I haven't been able to solve this yet.

  I think on a community portal where specifications are made, documented and specified to reference libraries and systems implementation. An example: A specification for Message Queue where redis clients, for instance, could implement it and where the libraries could be validated by the specification's test suite. Redic, redis-rb, hiredis, redis-connection-pool, redis-namespace should all implement this specification. This way, being easily replaced.

We want to highlight the "Installation Information" section which includes the following late-breaking information: Business Rules Migration to Calculation Manager Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager has replaced Oracle Hyperion Business Rules as the mechanism for designing and managing business rules, therefore, Business Rules is no longer released with EPM System Release 11.1.2.2. If you are applying 11.1.2.2 as a maintenance release, or upgrading to Release 11.1.2.2, and have been using Business Rules in an earlier release, you must migrate to Calculation Manager rules in Release 11.1.2.2.   i'm a new linux user and i cannot add or edit any network connections, nor is the system detecting any wireless networks when i try to access additional hardware from system, it doesn't even open...so i'm stuck. lspci | grep -i wireless comes out with 06:0a.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG [Calexico2] Network connection (rev 05) lspci -n -s 06:0a.0 comes out with 8086:4220. i dont know if that info was relevant but any help on this would be appreciated.

  I have Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit installed as a virtual OS in Virtualbox (the host is windows 7). The Virtualbox data file is on a usb drive that lost connection to the PC while a session was running. Now when I try to start the Ubuntu virtual OS, I get a terminal login screen, but no GUI. When I try to login I get the message sh: 1: cannot create /var/run/motd.new: Directory nonexistent Any suggestions? Can I recover the system?

• SWF file not playing after being published

  I'm trying to run the "connector" example that comes bundled with the SmartFoxServer 2X downloads.. There it connects to the server and loads the correct configuration file. When I run it in Adobe Flash Professional 5, it runs correctly and connects to the server but after being published as SWF movie, it doesnt work. It loads the configuration file but can't connect and gives an error connection failure: ERROR 2048. This is the example I'm talking about.

  After I installed Ubuntu 11.04/11.10 in VirtualBox in Windows 7, I cannot update any software with the error message "failed to download package files". After having googled, I have tried: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade changed to another sources But I still got the same error message.   I have installed and configured PHP-FPM, Nginx, and then phpMyAdmin. When I access the main site everything works fine but as soon as I go to http://mysite.com/phpmyadmin I get a 502 bad gateway error. • Suggestion for a hybrid Gnome-Kde Distro.

  After years of working on various Desktop Environments, i have come to the conclusion , that there are some KDE (qt) applications, which have no GTK equivalent. Can anyone please suggest a hybrid Gnome-KDE Distro having lots of apps installed by default. I have a slow- unreliable internet connection, so downloading large amounts of data would be aproblem. Linux Mint would have been my first choice, unfortunately the amount af apps bundled by default is quite limited.
