  • How to use NSObject to URLs with three20 properly

    - by Frank
Basically i map my controllers to accept the address class to be passed into the listingpage controller. Which is done here: [map from:@"tt://listingPage/(initWithResult:)" toViewController:[ListingPageController class]]; [map from:[Address class] name:@"result" toURL:@"tt://listingPage/(initWithResult:)"]; This url is being used in my table item which I am has been invoked here: for (Address *result in [(id<SearchResultsModel>)self.model results]) { NSString* url = [result URLValueWithName:@"result"]; TTTableImageItem* tii = [TTTableMessageItem itemWithTitle:[result addressText] caption:[result addressText] text:[result subText] imageURL:[result image] URL:url]; [self.items addObject:tii]; } My app crashes, I am not sure why, seems to be getting an invalidate view. any help would be much appreciated.

  • Quartz 2D: draw from a CGContext to another CGContext

    - by alexey
I have a CGBitmapContext (bitmapContext) and I would like to draw some rectangle part (rect) of it to the current CGContext (context). Right now I do that way: CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGImageRef cgImage = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(bitmapContext); CGContextClipToRect(context, rect); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0, 0, width, height), cgImage); CGImageRelease(cgImage); Is it optimal? What is the best way to do it?

  • Remove clear button (grey x) to the right of UISearchBar when cancel button tapped

    - by David Foster
Right, to begin my question, here's some screenies of the problem already solved by the Spotify app: Spotify's Step 1: Standard UISearchBar not in editing mode. Spotify's Step 2: UISearchBar now in editing mode. Search term entered. Cancel button slides in from the right, and the clear button (grey x) appears. Spotify's Step 3: Cancel button pressed; keyboard slides out and the search bar is no longer in editing mode. Search term remains and the grey x button is now hidden. At present, the following code fires off when my cancel button is pressed: - (void)searchBarCancelButtonClicked:(UISearchBar *)searchBar { [searchBar resignFirstResponder]; [searchBar setShowsCancelButton:NO animated:YES]; } Which results in: My Step 3: Search bar now not in editing mode. Cancel button and keyboard has slid out. Search term remains but so does the grey x. So, my question is this: given that -resignFirstResponder (and -endEditing:, FYI) does not hide the grey x button when a search bar has had text entered into it, how does one hide it? Thanks again, friends.

Use of uninitialized value $developer_dir in concatenation (.) or string at Library/uninstall-devtools line 120 Anyone else facing this problem? Can I just trash the installation folder?

  • Background image for list view still shows white behind text for cells.

    - by MonkeyTroy
I wanted to put a background image partially visible behind a list view. I created a list view in my nib with an image view behind it and made the list view background 20% opacity. This allows the background image to show thru but my text in the cells show a white background behind and if I create the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath the cells have a white background too. I am creating and setting the cell textLabel and the detailTextLabel in the cellForRowAtIndexPath event. Not sure how to get rid of that, or if there is a better way to do the background image.

  • Passing Variables between views / view controllers

    - by Dan
    Hi I'm new to ObjectiveC / IPhoneSDK and I'm informally trying to study it on my own. What I'm basically trying to do is from one view there are 12 zodiac signs. When a user clicks one, it proceeds to the second view (with animation) and loads the name of the zodiac sign it clicked in a UILabel, that's it. Here are my codes: Lovescopes = 1st page Horoscopes = 2nd page Lovescopes4AppDelegate.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "HoroscopesViewController.h" #import "Lovescopes4AppDelegate.h" @class Lovescopes4ViewController; @interface Lovescopes4AppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; Lovescopes4ViewController *viewController; HoroscopesViewController *horoscopesViewController; } -(void)loadHoroscope; -(void)loadMainPage; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWindow *window; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet Lovescopes4ViewController *viewController; @property (nonatomic, retain) HoroscopesViewController *horoscopesViewController; @end Lovescopes4AppDelegate.m #import "Lovescopes4AppDelegate.h" #import "Lovescopes4ViewController.h" @implementation Lovescopes4AppDelegate @synthesize window; @synthesize viewController; @synthesize horoscopesViewController; -(void)loadHoroscope { HoroscopesViewController *aHoroscopeViewController = [[HoroscopesViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"HoroscopesViewController" bundle:nil]; [self setHoroscopesViewController:aHoroscopeViewController]; [aHoroscopeViewController release]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft forView:window cache:YES]; [viewController.view removeFromSuperview]; [self.window addSubview:[horoscopesViewController view]]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } -(void)loadMainPage { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:window cache:NO]; [horoscopesViewController.view removeFromSuperview]; [self.window addSubview:[viewController view]]; [UIView commitAnimations]; [horoscopesViewController release]; horoscopesViewController = nil; } - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // Override point for customization after app launch [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } - (void)dealloc { [viewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } @end Lovescopes4ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "HoroscopesViewController.h" @interface Lovescopes4ViewController : UIViewController { HoroscopesViewController *hvc; } -(IBAction)loadAries; @property (nonatomic, retain) HoroscopesViewController *hvc; @end Lovescope4ViewController.m #import "Lovescopes4ViewController.h" #import "Lovescopes4AppDelegate.h" @implementation Lovescopes4ViewController @synthesize hvc; -(IBAction)loadAries { NSString *selected =@"Aries"; [hvc loadZodiac:selected]; Lovescopes4AppDelegate *mainDelegate = (Lovescopes4AppDelegate *) [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [mainDelegate loadHoroscope]; } HoroscopesViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface HoroscopesViewController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UILabel *zodiacLabel; } -(void)loadZodiac:(id)zodiacSign; -(IBAction)back; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *zodiacLabel; @end HoroscopesViewController.m #import "HoroscopesViewController.h" #import "Lovescopes4AppDelegate.h" @implementation HoroscopesViewController @synthesize zodiacLabel; /* // The designated initializer. • Best way to change XIB files based on rotation?

    - by Graeme
Hi, My app has so far just been a portrait-based application. However, I am adding landscape mode to a new version, but have found that my XIB files look shocking when rotated from portrait to landscape. Apparently I need to make a landscape version of each XIB and use some code to change with XIB launches based on what rotation occurs. Am I right? If so, where do I go from here? Are there any Apple sample apps utilising this code? FYI - My XIB files just have text in them. Thanks.

  • Problem with migrating from Texture2D to CCTexture2D (Setting CCSprite texture)

    - by marie
My problem is that whenever I change the texture of a sprite, the new texture will retain the size of the original sprite's texture. I have this code: mySprite = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"mySprite.png"]]; ... // change current stage here CCTexture2D *newTexture=[[[CCTexture2D alloc]initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"stage number %d.png",currentStageNumber]]]autorelease]; [mySprite setTexture:newTexture]; The new sprite is stretched or compressed depending on the size of the original sprite. If the original sprite is larger, the new texture is stretched. I didn't have this problem when I was using cocos2d v0.8 What am I doing wrong?

  • CCSprite with actions crossing the screen boundaries (copy sprite problem)

    - by iostriz
Let's say we have a CCSprite object that has an actions tied to it: -(void) moveJack { CCSpriteSheet *sheet = (CCSpriteSheet*)[self getChildByTag:kSheet]; CCSprite *jack = (CCSprite*)[sheet getChildByTag:kJack]; ... CCSequence *seq = [CCSequence actions: jump1, [jump1 reverse], jump2, nil]; [jack runAction:seq]; } If the sprite crosses over the screen boundary, I would like to display it at opposite side. So, original sprite is half displayed on the right side (for example), and half on the left side, because it has not fully crossed yet. Obviously (or is it), I need 2 sprites to achieve this. One on the right side (original), and one on the left side (a copy). The problem is - I don't know how to create exact copy of the original sprite, because tied actions have scaling and blending transformations (sprite is a bit distorted). I would like to have something like: CCSprite *copy = [[jack copy] autorelease]; so that I can add a copy to display it on the correct side (and kill it after transition is over). It should have all the actions tied to it... Any ideas?

  • Placemark not giving city name in ios 6

    - by Sawant
I am using this code in which i am getting Placemark but it not giving the city name. Earlier i am using MKReverse Geocoder to get the placemark in which i am getting the city name but as in ios6 it showing deprecated because the apple developer added every thing in CLLocation. so i used this code. `-(void) locationManager:(CLLocationManager *)manager didUpdateToLocation:(CLLocation *)newLocation fromLocation:(CLLocation *)oldLocation { CLLocation *location = [locationManager location]; NSLog(@"location is %@",location); CLGeocoder *fgeo = [[[CLGeocoder alloc] init] autorelease]; // Reverse Geocode a CLLocation to a CLPlacemark [fgeo reverseGeocodeLocation:location completionHandler:^(NSArray *placemarks, NSError *error){ // Make sure the geocoder did not produce an error // before continuing if(!error){ // Iterate through all of the placemarks returned // and output them to the console for(CLPlacemark *placemark in placemarks){ NSLog(@"%@",[placemark description]); city1= [placemark.addressDictionary objectForKey:(NSString*) kABPersonAddressCityKey]; NSLog(@"city is %@",city1); } } else{ // Our geocoder had an error, output a message // to the console NSLog(@"There was a reverse geocoding error\n%@", [error localizedDescription]); } } ]; } ` here as i am seeing in console in NSLog(@"%@",[placemark description]); its giving output like :- abc road name, abc road name, state name, country name. any help please .Thanking in advance.

  • How to parse HTML with TouchXML or some other alternative.

    - by 0SX
Hi, I'm trying to parse the HTML presented below with TouchXML but it keeps crashing when I try to extract certain attributes. I'm totally new to the parser world so I apologize for being a complete idiot. I need help to parse this HTML. What I'm trying to accomplish is to parse each attribute and value or what not and copy them to a string. I've been trying to find a good parser to parse HTML and I believe TouchXML is the best I've seen because of Tidy. Speaking of Tidy, How could I run this HTML through Tidy first then parse it? I'm not sure how to do this. Here is the code that I have so far that doesn't work due to it's not pulling everything I need from the HTML. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks My current code: NSMutableArray *res = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; // using local resource file NSString *XMLPath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"example.html"]; NSData *XMLData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:XMLPath]; CXMLDocument *doc = [[[CXMLDocument alloc] initWithData:XMLData options:0 error:nil] autorelease]; NSArray *nodes = NULL; nodes = [doc nodesForXPath:@"//div" error:nil]; for (CXMLElement *node in nodes) { NSMutableDictionary *item = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [item setObject:[[node attributeForName:@"id"] stringValue] forKey:@"id"]; [res addObject:item]; [item release]; } NSLog(@"%@", res); [res release]; HTML file that needs to be parsed: <html> <head> <base target="_blank" /> </head> <body style="margin:2;"> <div id="group"> <div id="groupURL"><a href="http://www.example.com/groups">Group URL</a></div> <img id="grouplogo" src="http://images.example.com/groups/image.png" /> <div id="groupcomputer"><a href="http://www.example.com/groups/page" title="Group Title">Group title this would be here</a></div> <div id="groupinfos"> <div id="groupinfo-l">Person</div><div id="groupinfo-r">Ralph</div> <div id="groupinfo-l">Years</div><div id="groupinfo-r">4 years</div> <div id="groupinfo-l">Salary</div><div id="groupinfo-r">100K</div> <div id="groupinfo-l">Other</div><div id="groupoth" style="width:15px">other info</div> </body> </html> EDIT: I could use Element Parser but I need to know how to extract the Person's Name from the following example which would be Ralph in this case. <div id="groupinfo-l">Person</div><div id="groupinfo-r">Ralph</div>

  • Detecting taps on a UIWebView

    - by dubbeat
Hi, I'm trying to find a way to detect a double tap on a UIWebview. I want to use this action to close it. I however can't find and methods in the documentation for UIWebview taps. Whats the best to add taps to a uiwebview? I tried a tutorial here http://mithin.in/2009/08/26/detecting-taps-and-events-on-uiwebview-the-right-way/ But I don't know how to change my UIWindow to a tap detecting window. Does the above link seem like the best approach or could you suggest another way to remove my WebView?

  • How do I set an array in one class with another array in another class

It just crashes. The NSLog says that the powerClass.pickerArray is NULL. Please help point me in the right direction.

  • AVAudioPlayer working in Simulator, but not on device

    - by cannyboy
My mp3 playing code is: NSError *error; soundObject = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:audioPathString] error:&error]; if (soundObject == nil) NSLog(@"%@", [error description]); soundObject.delegate = self; soundObject.numberOfLoops = 0; soundObject.volume = 1.0; NSLog(@"about to play"); [soundObject prepareToPlay]; [soundObject play]; NSLog(@"[soundObject play];"); The mp3 used to play fine, and it still does on the simulator. But not on the device. I've recently added some sound recording code (not mine) to the software. It uses AudioQueue stuff which is slightly beyond me. Does that conflict with AVAudioPlayer? Or what could be the problem? I've noticed that as soon as the audiorecording code starts working, I can't adjust the volume on the device anymore, so maybe it blocks the audio playback?. EDIT The solution seems to be to put this in my code. I put it in applicationDidFinishLaunching: [[AVAudioSession sharedInstance] setCategory: AVAudioSessionCategoryPlayAndRecord error: nil]; UInt32 audioRouteOverride = kAudioSessionOverrideAudioRoute_Speaker; AudioSessionSetProperty (kAudioSessionProperty_OverrideAudioRoute,sizeof (audioRouteOverride),&audioRouteOverride); The first line allows both play and record, whilst the other lines apparently reroute things to make the volume louder. All audio code is voodoo to me.

  • handling NSStream events when using EASession in MonoTouch

    - by scotru
Does anyone have an example of how to handle read and write NSStream events in Monotouch when working with accessories via EASession? It looks like there isn't a strongly typed delegate for this and I'm having trouble figuring out what selectors I need to handle on the delegates of my InputStream and OutputStream and what I actually need to do with each selector in order to properly fill and empty the buffers belonging to the EASession object. Basically, I'm trying to port Apple's EADemo app to Monotouch right now. Here's the Objective-C source that I think is relevant to this problem: / / asynchronous NSStream handleEvent method - (void)stream:(NSStream *)aStream handleEvent:(NSStreamEvent)eventCode { switch (eventCode) { case NSStreamEventNone: break; case NSStreamEventOpenCompleted: break; case NSStreamEventHasBytesAvailable: [self _readData]; break; case NSStreamEventHasSpaceAvailable: [self _writeData]; break; case NSStreamEventErrorOccurred: break; case NSStreamEventEndEncountered: break; default: break; } } / low level write method - write data to the accessory while there is space available and data to write - (void)_writeData { while (([[_session outputStream] hasSpaceAvailable]) && ([_writeData length] > 0)) { NSInteger bytesWritten = [[_session outputStream] write:[_writeData bytes] maxLength:[_writeData length]]; if (bytesWritten == -1) { NSLog(@"write error"); break; } else if (bytesWritten > 0) { [_writeData replaceBytesInRange:NSMakeRange(0, bytesWritten) withBytes:NULL length:0]; } } } // low level read method - read data while there is data and space available in the input buffer - (void)_readData { #define EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE 128 uint8_t buf[EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; while ([[_session inputStream] hasBytesAvailable]) { NSInteger bytesRead = [[_session inputStream] read:buf maxLength:EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; if (_readData == nil) { _readData = [[NSMutableData alloc] init]; } [_readData appendBytes:(void *)buf length:bytesRead]; //NSLog(@"read %d bytes from input stream", bytesRead); } [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:EADSessionDataReceivedNotification object:self userInfo:nil]; } I'd also appreciate any architectural recommendations on how to best implement this in monotouch. For example, in the Objective C implementation these functions are not contained in any class--but in Monotouch would it make sense to make them members of my

  • Pass NSMutableArray between two UIViewController's

    - by aahrens
I have two view controllers name RootViewController and SecondViewController. In the FirstViewController I have this NSMutableArray @interface RootViewController : UITableViewController { NSMutableArray *allClasses;}@property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *allClasses; In the RootViewController I populate the UITableView with all the objects within allClasses In my SecondViewController I have @interface SecondViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate,UIPickerViewDelegate> { NSMutableArray *arrayStrings;} I have a method that adds new NSStrings to the arrayStrings. My goal is to be able to pass the arrayStrings to the RootViewController by trying something similar to allClasses = arrayStrings. That way when the RootViewController is loaded it can populate with new information. How would I got about accomplishing that task?

  • MKReverseGeocoder delegate location?

    - by fuzzygoat
I have a quick question regarding memory management that I am not quite sure about. I currently have a locationManager delegate that calls locationManager:didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation when it resolves the device location. My question is I am looking at adding ReverseGeoCoding after I have obtained the [newLocation coordinate] but am unsure about doing the alloc here, as each time locationManager:didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation gets called I will be alloc-ing a new MKReverseGeoCoder? // LOCATION -(void)locationManager:(CLLocationManager *)manager didUpdateToLocation:(CLLocation *)newLocation fromLocation:(CLLocation *)oldLocation { // GeoCoding: MKReverseGeocoder *geoCoder = [[MKReverseGeocoder alloc] initWithCoordinate:[newLocation coordinate]]; [geoCoder setDelegate:self]; [geoCoder start]; [self foundLocation]; } Can anyone point me in the right direction with regards to this? I did try doing the alloc in application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: but then realised I did not have access to [newLocation coordinate]. many thanks gary

  • Design view disappeared from Interface Builder

    - by skywalker168
All of a sudden, the visual design window disappeared from my Interface Builder. It is a regular UIView, has some UIImageView, UILabel, and UIButtons on it. When I open IB, I can see the document window (with File's Owner, First Responder and View in it), Library and Inspector, but the visual design window disappeared. Double click on "View" in the document window doesn't do anything. If I go to List mode, I can see all the components on the view, but just can no longer find the visual design window. All other XIB can open just fine, only this XIB lost its design window. First I thought maybe it was hidden somewhere on the screen. Tried all kinds of things, even rebooting the computer, but nothing helped. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! By the way, I'm running SDK 3.2 Beta 3.
