    - by sh00
I have a SQL Server 2008 database with 300 tables. The application I have to design is an Windows Forms app, .NET 3.5, C#. Which is the best way to work with LINQ2SQL ? I intend to make a datacontext for each business entity. Is there any problem ? I need to know if this way of working with LINQ has any disadvantage or can create performance issues ? Thanks.

  • How do I protect my website from javascript injection attacks when using rich text editors?

    - by VJ
Hi all I am using the markitup editor to get the value for one of my fields and storing it a sql server 2008 db. Now I guess the problem is people having script tags and javascript in the editor and injecting malicious scripts and I have my validate input turned false. So can anyone suggest me a way to write a custom validation method that maybe checks for script tags and removes them...or just guide me through the steps i need to do ?...also are there other things also that I should be worried about..?

  • IronPython overriding __setattr__ and __getattr__

    - by yodaj007
I'm trying to implement a class in C# with a method that intercepts the Python __setattr__ and __getattr__ magic methods. I found this bug report: http://ironpython.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=8143 But that is from 2008, and nowhere can I find ICustomAttributes or PythonNameAttribute. I don't see anything useful in Interfaces.cs either. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • Good way to make changes to production database / source code

    - by This is it
Hi I'm interested to find out what would be the good way to make changes to production database and source code in web application (ASP.NET, SQL Server 2008). A little bit more details, we develop on local machines, and then we need to transfer the code and database changes to production (pretty much standard story). At the moment we do it in the evening, change the database directly from management studio on production server, and then just overwrite the existing asp.net code (copy/past). Thanks

  • How to generate DELETE statements in PL/SQL, based on the tables FK relations?

    - by The chicken in the kitchen
Is it possible via script/tool to generate authomatically many delete statements based on the tables fk relations, using Oracle PL/SQL? In example: I have the table: CHICKEN (CHICKEN_CODE NUMBER) and there are 30 tables with fk references to its CHICKEN_CODE that I need to delete; there are also other 150 tables foreign-key-linked to that 30 tables that I need to delete first. Is there some tool/script PL/SQL that I can run in order to generate all the necessary delete statements based on the FK relations for me? (by the way, I know about cascade delete on the relations, but please pay attention: I CAN'T USE IT IN MY PRODUCTION DATABASE, because it's dangerous!) I'm using Oracle DataBase 10G R2. This is the result I've written, but it is not recursive: This is a view I have previously written, but of course it is not recursive! CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW RUN ( OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME, VINCOLO ) AS SELECT OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME, '(' || LTRIM ( EXTRACT (XMLAGG (XMLELEMENT ("x", ',' || COLUMN_NAME)), '/x/text()'), ',') || ')' VINCOLO FROM ( SELECT CON1.OWNER OWNER_1, CON1.TABLE_NAME TABLE_NAME_1, CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, CON1.DELETE_RULE, CON1.STATUS, CON.TABLE_NAME, CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME, COL.POSITION, COL.COLUMN_NAME FROM DBA_CONSTRAINTS CON, DBA_CONS_COLUMNS COL, DBA_CONSTRAINTS CON1 WHERE CON.OWNER = 'TABLE_OWNER' AND CON.TABLE_NAME = 'TABLE_OWNED' AND ( (CON.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'P') OR (CON.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'U')) AND COL.TABLE_NAME = CON1.TABLE_NAME AND COL.CONSTRAINT_NAME = CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME --AND CON1.OWNER = CON.OWNER AND CON1.R_CONSTRAINT_NAME = CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME AND CON1.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'R' GROUP BY CON1.OWNER, CON1.TABLE_NAME, CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME, CON1.DELETE_RULE, CON1.STATUS, CON.TABLE_NAME, CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME, COL.POSITION, COL.COLUMN_NAME) GROUP BY OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME; ... and it contains the error of using DBA_CONSTRAINTS instead of ALL_CONSTRAINTS... Please pay attention to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/485581/generate-delete-statement-from-foreign-key-relationships-in-sql-2008/2677145#2677145 Another user has just written it in SQL SERVER 2008, anyone is able to convert to Oracle 10G PL/SQL? • Is there something like LINQ for Java?

    - by Kb
Started to learn LINQ with C#. Especially LINQ to Objects and LINQ to XML. I really enjoy the power of LINQ. I learned that there is something called JLINQ a Jscript implementation. Also (as Catbert posted) Scala will have LINQ Do you know if LINQ or something similar will be a part of Java 7? Update: Interesting post from 2008 - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/346721/linq-for-java

  • Vertical text alignment in Crystal Reports?

    - by George Mauer
In the Crystal Reports editor that comes with Visual Studio (2008) is it possible to align text to the center of a text box rather than to the top? I can't find the option anywhere and a Google search is not encouraging but I just can't bring myself to believe that they would not include such an obvious feature.
