  • XML Import how would you do it?

    XML is used as one of our main integration points. it comes over by many clients at a time but too many clients importing at the same time can slow down our database to a crawl. Someone has to have solved a problem like this. I am basically using VB to parse through the data and import what i want and don't want. Is there a better way?

    Hello everyone, I am working on one real estate website which is Using RETS service to get the data to my local server. but I have one little bit problem here,I can fetch data from RETS which is having about 3lacks record in RETS Database but I didn't find the way,How can I fetch that all records in bunch of 50k at a time ? I didn't find any 'LIMIT' keyword on RETS.so how can I fetch without 'LIMIT' 50k records at a time? Please help me.

  • Vim navigation clunkiness

    I've committed myself to diving into vim to become faster at writing code for ruby/python and I'm having a hard time navigating around files. Mainly, I'm referring to switching between insert mode and navigation modes. Maybe I'm just not completely used to the editor yet but it feels very awkward to constantly be switching in and out of insert mode. Is this something that will go away with time? Are there any tricks to getting quicker at moving in and out of insert mode?

    I was taken aback earlier today when debugging some code to find that something like the following does not throw a compile-time exception: public Test () { HashMap map = (HashMap) getList(); } private List getList(){ return new ArrayList(); } As you can imagine, a ClassCastException is thrown at runtime, but can someone explain why the casting of a List to a HashMap is considered legal at compile time?

On some of them i faced with slow oracle transactions problem.   • which is better in general, map or vector in c++?

    As I know that accessing an element in vector takes constant time while in map takes logarithmic time. However, storing a map takes less memory than storing a vector. Therefore, I want to ask which one is better in general? I'm considering using one of those two in my program, which has about 1000 elements. I plan to use 3 dimensional vector, which would take 1000x1000x1000 elements.

  • Java ActionListener buttonPress() restriction

    Is there a way to restrict this button to only being impressed once? The reason I ask is because for some reasons every time the button is pressed it disrupts the rest of my code. So in effort to save a massive amount of time debugging, it would be much easier to just somehow restrict the number of times it can be pressed. Thanks in advance. However, the application checks every time it is run: the delay property seems to be ignored.   • Windows 7 Icons, Buttons, and Tabs corrupted...Professional 32-bit

    The other day, about two or three ago, I was simply typing in a Microsoft Word document when my screen froze. After a few moments, it went black...I thought it was my vid hardware (dual nVidia 9800 GTs). Anyway, I did a hard reboot, and chose to Start Normally. The system blue screened telling me there was a failure in the Memory Manager. So then I thought maybe a RAM failure or vid memory failure. I attempted reboot again, this time I got presented with the option to repair windows...so I went with that. The repair app finished and did an auto reboot. This time I got all the way back to my desktop where in a matter of a about 30 seconds, the system blue screened again and pointed to the Memory Manager as the area of cause. Again I rebooted, the repair thingy came up again and I allowed it to do its thing. Deciding if the same failure occured I'd begin pulling hardware to see at what point I may have found the possibly defective party. However, this time it rebooted, I got back to desktop and no crash. All looked well, untill I looked at the baloon messages when hovering over the System Bar icons. Also when I opened any of my browsers, the tabs had no text, and any window that pops up that has regular buttons (OK, Cancel, etc., etc.) looks weird. The buttons are really really long and have no text. So it seems like the system is once again running smoothly, however something has gotten corrupted.. something relating to drawing basic windows user interface objects. Help...all ideas are respected and appreciated. Have a great day everyone!

  • Is 40+ Logons on Exchange 2003 per user normal?

    Hello! We've had a problem at work where users sometimes randomly can't connect to exchange. I've found out that it's because they reached the limit of 32 concurrent logons. I increased the maximum allowed connections by adding the key "Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" in HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem. But I'm not sure if this is a real good fix. Looking at the logons some users has as many as 15 logons with the exact same logon time. I know for sure that Outlook 2007 does this, as I was watching them while a user connected with Outlook after a restart on the Exchange service. Every user also has an iPhone connected to exchange, I don't know if these cause the same thing. Is this normal? Could there be a bug in the software? (The Outlook 2007 has nothing configured, except added the user, pure vanilla installs). The users are mobile, and when Outlook generates up to 15 connection every time it connects, and I've read (no sources, sorry) that Outlook doesn't time out connections before 2 hours. I might have to set this number real high to prevent it from being a problem.

  • Noob with git repository on Windows Storage Server 2008?

    I have a Western Digital Sentinel at home running Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials. I have several git repositories on it for my own personal projects, and have no problem pushing and pulling over my local network. I want to be able to access those repos remotely from anywhere. I am able to log in and remotely access folders and files on it, but I cannot clone repos using the same address. It hangs for a REALLY long time before finally failing with an error: git.exe clone --progress -v "https://myIpAddressHere/Remote/fs/files.aspx?path=%5C%5Cmydevicename%5Cmyreposfolder%5Cmyrepo.git" "D:\repo" Cloning into 'D:\repo'... error: Failed connect to myIpAddress:443; No error while accessing https://myIpAddress/Remote/fs/files.aspx?path=%5C%5Cmydevicename%5Cmyreposfolder%5Cmyrepo.git/info/refs fatal: HTTP request failed git did not exit cleanly (exit code 128) I'm not too privy to networking or web development, and I have only a rudimentary understanding of how to use git (with TortoiseGit). I'm having a hard time finding search results for this specific problem and a hard time interpreting generic tutorials for the general scope of this problem.   • How does timezone really work in relation to PHP and MYSQL?

    I am getting very strange results in terms of timezones. I am currently using Wordpress and everytime I register a new user, I see the wrong datetime in the database. Ok so I am suspecting it is picking up the server time. So then I then set in php.ini to have date.timezone = "America/Los_Angeles" but again the time is still not correct in the database...And yes I have also set the timezone in Wordpress correctly. So how can this be done?

    The goal of this query is to get a total of unique records (by IP) per ref ID. SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ip), GROUP_CONCAT(ref.id) FROM `sess` sess JOIN `ref` USING(row_id) WHERE sess.time BETWEEN '2010-04-21 00:00:00' AND '2010-04-21 23:59:59' GROUP BY ref.id ORDER BY sess.time DESC The query works fine, but its using a temporary table. Any ideas?

  • Windows Server 2008 Alerting to Low memory

    I have a file and print server running on Windows 2008 R2 fully patched in a VSphere environment (ESXi 5.1 fully updated). Every evening between 19:20 and 19:30 our monitoring software reported that the available memory is 1% and performance is dire. There is nothing in the event logs to point to an issue. At this point in the evening I am general the only user on the system to check to see why these alerts are going off. Things I have done; Checked to see if any backups are running – None at all. Checked Scheduled tasks – None before or during this time period. Moved the VM to another host. AV is disabled to rule out that as the issue. The server does not have any problems during the day with memory when fully loaded with about 50 users. The server did have 4GB ram provisioned but I have increased this to 5Gb. Running PrefMon at the time (I will save the graphs tonight) There very little CPU usage at the time but RAM usage goes up.

And if I kill cmd, the child dies too- no "yeah.txt" is created. How do I make ensure the child continues to run even if parent is killed and also that the parent doesn't wait for child process to end?
