Can I use this Ajax script to communicate and exchange data between client and server?

This block of code is for client.html (it is located in this www.client.com/client.html) - client side. The I have the code below that goes something like this: ajaxRequest.open("GET", "http://www.server.com/ajax.php", true); This is how I call the file ajax.php located in the server. Unfortunately I have no luck at all. It cannot connect to the server I'm calling. BTW, the ips /test site I've been using are all no restrictions, and is accessible to all. However, I tried to simulate by putting both client.html and ajax.php in same site and it works well. So my question is does this script works only if you are in same site? or does it work also in client-server scenario? When i tried to insert data to this table by STORE PROCEDURE i get this exception: An explicit value for the identity column in table 'AirConditioner' can only be specified when a column list is used and IDENTITY_INSERT is ON. I saw that i need to add this lines: SET IDENTITY_INSERT [dbo].[AirConditioner] ON and finally OFF I added and its still throw an exception... My store procedure is attached as a picture

In my code I'm creating a product list dynamically using PHP(see image) and the currosponding labels and image paths are stored into hidden fields(created dynamically using PHP) now on document.ready() method i set the first list item's imagepath to img's src and its remarks to label remarks using first hidden fields for remark and imagepath. and on listitem click i want to change it my function set these values to img and label rightly(checked using alerts) but when function ends it set the image src and remarks innertext to default that is set on document.ready() method now my question is can i prevent the document.ready() to be executed next time on javascript function call My View : As the images are reloaded so the page rendering is done again so the document.ready is called again and set these values again to default. The Report Works fine when I press the "Run Report" Button but I want also to avoid that annoying message that appears when the page loads. I've tried to set the report viewer control to Enable = false; and only after hitting the button to Enable = true; but it didn't work.

Distinguishing between failure and end of file in read loop

The idiomatic loop to read from an istream is while (thestream >> value) { // do something with value } Now this loop has one problem: It will not distinguish if the loop terminated due to end of file, or due to an error. "T" : "F"); } std::cout << " - " << is.good() << is.eof() << is.fail() << is.bad() << "\n"; } void testread(std::string s) { std::istringstream is(s); is >> std::boolalpha; readbools(is); } int main() { testread("true false"); testread("true false tr"); } The first call to testread contains two valid bools, and therefore is not an error. The second call ends with a third, incomplete bool, and therefore is an error. Nevertheless, the behaviour of both is the same. In the first case, reading the boolean value fails because there is none, while in the second case it fails because it is incomplete, and in both cases EOF is hit. Indeed, the program above outputs twice the same line: TF - 0110 TF - 0110 To solve this problem, I thought of the following solution: while (thestream >> std::ws && !thestream.eof() && thestream >> value) { // do something with value } The idea is to detect regular EOF before actually trying to extract the value. Because there might be whitespace at the end of the file (which would not be an error, but cause read of the last item to not hit EOF), I first discard any whitespace (which cannot fail) and then test for EOF. Only if I'm not at the end of file, I try to read the value. For my example program, it indeed seems to work, and I get TF - 0100 TF - 0110 So in the first case (correct input), fail() returns false. Now my question: Is this solution guaranteed to work, or was I just (un-)lucky that it happened to give the desired result? Also: Is there a simpler (or, if my solution is wrong, a correct) way to get the desired result?

Fluid images - portrait/landscape

I have a simple slideshow (list items) but a combination of portrait and landscape images. I'm working on a fluid grid so everything is, essentially, 100% of itself. I'm wondering if there's a way for all the images to remain the same height, but the widths stay true to their proportions. All the images have the same height - 2000px - when uploaded. vba word 2007 - protect document but enable toolbars

I have a document with sections that are protected and unprotected. With Word 2003 the sections that were unprotected had formatting enabled - specifically the bullets and numbering. Now with Word 2007, even though the same sections are unprotected, the bulleting and numbering is disabled. Is there anyway to enable this? I tried playing around with CommandBars but nothing has worked. e.g. Application.CommandBars("Formatting").Enabled = True

Environment variable expansion in persistence.xml (JPA)

The property is set correctly but the database is created in a folder named after the variable name (here: ${DBHOME}). <property name="javax.persistence.jdbc.url" value="jdbc:derby:${DBHOME};create=true"/> Is there a possibility to fix this? How Indices Cope with MVCC ?

Greetings Overflowers, To my understanding (and I hope I'm not right) changes to indices cannot be MVCCed. I'm wondering if this is also true with big records as copies can be costly. Since records are accessed via indices (usually), how MVCC can be effective ? Do, for e.g., indices keep track of different versions of MVCCed records ? Any recent good reading on this subject ? Everytime I test the email is send correctly. (I have tested in PC: IE6, IE7, IE8, Safari, Firefox, Chrome. MAC: Safari, Firefox, Chrome.) The _POST done in jquery (javascript). Then when I turn off javascript in my browser nothing happens, because nothing is _POSTed.
