  • Cube project doesn't work because of permissions

    I'm doing "Multidimensional Project" with MS SQL Server 2012 (Server Data Tools - Visual Studio 2010 Shell). I can't run (debug) it. If the data source's impersonation information is set to "use the service account", this error occures: Error 2 Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully. 0 0 Error 3 OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Login failed for user 'NT Service\MSSQLServerOLAPService'.; 28000. 0 0 Error 4 Errors in the high-level relational engine. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of 'Data Warehouse', Name of 'Data Warehouse'. 0 0 Error 5 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while the dimension, with the ID of 'Items', Name of 'Items' was being processed. 0 0 Error 6 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while the 'Id' attribute of the 'Items' dimension from the 'Warehouse_MultidimensionalProject_Cube' database was being processed. 0 0 Error 7 Server: The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed. 0 0 I guessed that this account has no premissions but (1) I coudn't even add this account (it seems that it doesn't exist) and (2) how is that even possible for it to not have built-it poremissions?   • safari 5 resize flash application

    Just notice that after updating to Safari 5 (mac) all the flash applications that respond to resize events got sluggish. try: http://www.tutorio.com/media/flash/liquid-demo.html this works great with firefox 3.6.3, Chrome can deal with it fine, although not so fast as Firefox, but new Safari gives a awful experience, distorting all content if you do fast resizing. Any ideas why is this happening / and how can I get a better performance with safari browsers?

    I can see how a cipher can be developed using substitutions and keys, and how those two things can become more and more complex, thus offering some protection from decryption through brute-force approaches. But specifically I'm wondering: what other major concepts beyond substitution and key are involved? is the protection/secrecy of the key a greater vulnerability than the strength of the encryption? why does encryption still hold up when the key is 'public' ? are performance considerations a major obstacle to the development of more secure encryption?

    I've coded an experimental function which makes passed objects chainable by using high order functions. It's name is "chain" for now, and here is a usage example; chain("Hello World") (print) // evaluates print function by passing "Hello World" object. (console.log,"Optional","Parameters") (returnfrom) // returns "Hello World" It looks lispy but behaves very different since it's coded in a C based language, I don't know if there is a name for this idiom and I couldn't any name more suitable than "chain". Any ideas, suggestions?

    I have an application that takes voltages and temperatures as analog inputs and does some processing using an algorithm which involves signal processing such as low-pass filtering, exponential smoothing, and other steps which might typically be done in a high-level programming language such as C or C++. I'm curious how I could perform these same steps using a PLC, and in particular, the Allen-Bradley Control-Logix system? It seems to me that the instruction set with ladder logic is too limited for this. Could I perform this using structured text?

    Why would bitmap outperform vector? My Flash is for a large Kiosk, with rich media requirements and must function accurately as a counter. I want to keep everything vector for scalability. When I did a simple FPS test, I noticed my Bitmap version performed perfectly, and the all vector file was noticeably slower. PLEASE EXPLAIN • vector performance• what graphic standards I can apply• solutions for using vector KIOSK TEST ANIMATION RESULTS • only text and bitmap perform well, not vector • background and clouds OK, but more layers slow it down

  • Why do browsers allow switching off Javascript?

    Am curious why modern browsers allow switching off Javascript. It's so clear now that to do any substantial modern web application you need to integrate some high level of Javascript, why cant javascript be made an integral part of the browser? It becomes even more annoying especially when this option is OFF by default (IE!!) My opinion is, it should be made a standard for all the browsers to have javascript option enabled by default. What do you guys think?

  • Best way to figure out why didReceiveMemoryWarning is always getting called on a UIViewController

    I have a UIViewController and I'm noticing that I've done something to where the didReceiveMemoryWarning method is getting called every time I run it on an actual device. I've run the project with Run Run With Performance Tool Object Allocations (and Leaks also). There are no leaks but I have no idea how to read or understand the "Object Allocations" data that is displayed. So ... How do I read this information and what is/are the best ways to figure out (and resolve) why this is happening? Thanks

    I was wondering if anyone was familiar with any attempts at algorithmic sentence negation. For example, given a sentence like "This book is good" provide any number of alternative sentences meaning the opposite like "This book is not good" or even "This book is bad". Obviously, accomplishing this with a high degree of accuracy would probably be beyond the scope of current NLP, but I'm sure there has been some work on the subject. If anybody knows of any work, care to point me to some papers?
