  I'm using Rhino.Mocks for testing the system. I'm going to check the order of calling .LoadConfig and .Backup methods. I need .LoadConfig to be the first. Currently the code is like this: var module1 = mocks.Stub<IBackupModule>(); var module2 = mocks.Stub<IBackupModule>(); module1.Expect(x => x.Name).Return("test"); module2.Expect(x => x.Name).Return("test2"); using (mocks.Ordered()) { module1.Expect(x => x.LoadConfig(null)); module2.Expect(x => x.LoadConfig(null)); module1.Expect(x => x.Backup()); module2.Expect(x => x.Backup()); } mocks.ReplayAll(); The problem is, that there's also a call to .Name property, and i'm not interesting when it'll be called: before .LoadConfig or after the .Backup - it just doesn't matter. And when I run this I'm getting Exception: Unordered method call! The expected call is: 'Ordered: { IConfigLoader.LoadConfig(null); }' but was: 'IIdentification.get_Name();' Is there a way to deal with this? Thanks

• Have an unprivileged non-account user ssh into another box?

  I know how to get a user to ssh into another box with a key: ssh -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost But what about non-account users like apache? As this user doesn't have a home directory to which it can write a .ssh directory, the whole thing keeps failing with: $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost Could not create directory '/var/www/.ssh'. Warning: Permanently added '<hostname>' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. Permission denied (publickey). I've tried variations using -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null and setting $HOME to /dev/null and none of these have done the trick. I understand that sudo could probably fix this for me, but I'm trying to avoid having to require a manual server config since this code will be deployed on a number of different environments. Any ideas? Here's a few examples of what I've tried that don't work: $ sudo -u apache export HOME=path/to/apache/writable/dir/ ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost Eventually, I'll be using this solution to run rsync as the apache user.

  Hi, I have a MVC app where I have a User class and the user can also impersonate another user(Admin users only). So I have this code below that authenticates the request and instantiates my version of a User class. It then tries to get the impersonated user from the Session object but Session is not available in this method in the global.asax. Hope this makes sense. • All partitions missing when copying

  I bought a new 320GB SATA hard drive few months ago no recently when i try to copy something to the drive after about 20 seconds the all the partitions in the hard drive suddenly disappears. The hard drive is not shown in either Disk manager or device manager. To get the HD work i have to restart the PC again.The same thing happens when i try to copy. Even when i play any audio or video after abt 5 minutes i get the same problem. The drives are NTFS and im running Windows XP.. Xan some one please help me solve the problem??

• Method that does conditional return of method calling it?

  Ok this might be a bit of hack but bear with me :) The background is that i'm tired of methods that that some if-statement to that messes up indention for the whole method, like: public SomeClass DoStuff(string inputStr) { SomeClass result =null; if (IsOpenFilter(inputStr)) { .... } return result; } So I was thinking , wouldn't it be neat if I could do something like this instead: public SomeClass DoStuff(string inputStr) { Require(IsOpenFilter(inputStr),null); .... return result; } The idea is that if the statement does not evaluates to true it would return null. If there wasn't a return type for the method it would simply be: Require(IsOpenFilter(inputStr)); I realize that this is kinda overlapping with code contracts but these would be more like "conditional" or "soft" contracts evaluated at runtime rather than compile time. So I guess there's two questions, can this be done somehow? I'm stumped on how to do a conditional return from calling a method. The other question is, is this a good idea? It's a bit weird to monkeypatch the language like this but I'd rather like the way the code reads. I would be even cleaner if it could be put into an attribute above the method: [Require(IsOpenFilter(inputStr))]

  Hey, I've got a SharePoint website running on my machine (which it shows me inside the Application Pool in the Inet Manager). Now this website has a different user credentials specified under the Identity section (properties). Also when I view the w3wp.exe in the task manager it shows that the site is running as a different user. The problem is that if I change the username and password of the existing user with mine, the site stops working. How do I run it under my account credentials. Please help. Thanks

I'm performing a glob match on the list of arguments, to expand them into a full list of files, then I want to replace the passed argument array with the new expanded one. The globbing is working fine, that is, g.gl_pathv is populated with the list of expected files.   I am having trouble getting the right hibernate annotations to use on a value typed Map with an enumerated class as a key. Here is a simplified (and extremely contrived) example. public class Thing { public String id; public Letter startLetter; public Map<Letter,Double> letterCounts = new HashMap<Letter, Double>(); } public enum Letter { A, B, C, D } Here are my current annotations on Thing @Entity public class Thing { @Id public String id; @Enumerated(EnumType.STRING) public Letter startLetter; @CollectionOfElements @JoinTable(name = "Thing_letterFrequencies", joinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "thingId")) @MapKey(columns = @Column(name = "letter", nullable = false)) @Column(name = "count") public Map<Letter,Double> letterCounts = new HashMap<Letter, Double>(); } Hibernate generates the following DDL to create the tables for my MySql database create table Thing (id varchar(255) not null, startLetter varchar(255), primary key (id)) type=InnoDB; create table Thing_letterFrequencies (thingId varchar(255) not null, count double precision, letter tinyblob not null, primary key (thingId, letter)) type=InnoDB; Notice that hibernate tries to define letter (my map key) as a tinyblob, however it defines startLetter as a varchar(255) even though both are of the enumerated type Letter. When I try to create the tables I see the following error BLOB/TEXT column 'letter' used in key specification without a key length I googled this error and it appears that MySql has issues when you try to make a tinyblob column part of a primary key, which is what hibernate needs to do with the Thing_letterFrequencies table. So I would rather have letter mapped to a varchar(255) the way startLetter is. Unfortunately, I've been fussing with the MapKey annotation for a while now and haven't been able to make this work. I've also tried @MapKeyManyToMany(targetEntity=Product.class) without success. Can anyone tell me what are the correct annotations for my letterCounts map so that hibernate will treat the letterCounts map key the same way it does startLetter?

  I am receiving large size CCITT Group 4 compressed TIFF files that need to be written elsewhere as uncompressed TIFF files. I am using the jai_imageio TIFF reader and writer to do that and it works well as long as the product _width * height_ of the image fits in an integer.   I have the following 2 files and am executing them on linux (debian). File1.php <?php exec("php -f file2.php > /dev/null 2>&1 &"); sleep(100); File2.php <?php exec("sleep 30 > /dev/null 2>&1 &"); exec("sleep 30 > /dev/null 2>&1 &"); sleep(100); The way it currently is it first starts file1.php and fires up file2.php and immediatly begins the sleep commands. It does not wait for the first sleep to finish to continue. The problem is that the file2.php and sleep commands are not subcommands of file1.php and I can't simply kill it to kill all subcommands. • Do you feel underappreciated or resent the geek/nerd stigma?

  At work we have a piece of A4 paper with the number of everyone in the office. The structure of this document is laid out in rectangles, by department. I work for the department that does all the technical stuff. That includes support—bear in mind that the support staff isn't educated in IT but just has experience in PC maintenance and providing support to a system we resell but don't have source code access to, project manager, team leader, a network administrator, a product manager, and me, a programmer. Anyway, on this paper, we are labelled as nerds and geeks. I did take a little offence to this, as much as it is light hearted (but annoying and old) humour. I have a vivid image that a geek is someone who doesn't go out but codes all day. I code all day at home and at work (when I have something to code...), but I keep balance by going out. I don't know why it is only people who work with computers that get such a stigma. No other profession really gets the same stigma—skilled, technical, or whatever. An account manager (and this is hardly a skilled job) says, "Perhaps [MY NAME HERE] could write some geeky code tomorrow to add this functionality to the website." It is funny how I get such an unfair stigma but I am so pivotal. In fact, if it wasn't for me, the company would have nothing to sell so the account managers would be redundant! I make systems, they get sold, and this is what pays the wages. It's funny how the account managers get a commission for how many systems they sell, or manage to make clients resubscribe to. Yet I built the thing in the first place! On top of that, my brother says all I do is type stuff on a keyboard all day. Surely if I did, I'd be typing at my normal typing speed of 100wpm+ as if I am writing a blog entry. Instead, I plan as I code along on the fly if commercial pressures and time prohibit proper planning. I never type as if I'm writing normal English. There is more to our jobs than just typing code. And my brother is a pipe fitter with no formal qualifications in his name. I could easily, and perhaps more justifiably, say he just manipulates a spanner or something. Does you feel underappreciated or that a geek/nerd stigma is undeserved or unfair?

  I want to use conditional binding in ninject, based on passed parameters. I have something like below: public class Subject { } public interface ITarget { } public class Target1 : ITarget { } public class Target2 : ITarget { } And now I need to instantiate ITarget interface: public void MethodName(IKernel kernel) { ITarget target1 = kernel.Get<ITarget>(new Parameter("name", new Subject(), true)); // Should be instance of Target1 ITarget target2 = kernel.Get<ITarget>(); // Should be instance of Target2 } I have problems to define proper bindings. I tried the following: kernel.Bind<ITarget>().To<Target1>().When(Predicate); kernel.Bind<ITarget>().To<Target2>(); private bool Predicate(IRequest request) { IParameter parameter = request.Parameters.Count == 0 ? null : request.Parameters[0]; if (parameter == null) { return false; } object parameterValue = parameter.GetValue( /*what to put here?*/); return parameterValue != null && parameterValue.GetType().IsAssignableFrom(typeof(Subject)); } but I don't know how to get value of passed parameter. • Jqgrid search option hides the grid table
