• Why is Google Charts not showing the right data for me? Are the axis messed up?

  Hey everyone, Is there a relatively simpler (when compared with writing a parser) way to evaluate boolean expressions in Java? I do not want to use the JEP library. I have a String expression something like: (x 4 || x < 8 && p 6) [ I will replace the variables with values. Is there a way by which I can evaluate this expression? • DirectSound affects system volume on WinXP

  Hello guys, I'm currently developing an audio engine that is used in voice network chat software. Everything is working fine - capture/playback/mixing channels. The problem is in using it under Windows XP. I've been getting user reports with information that their global system volume is set to zero after launching the application. I'm assuming that happens because of WaveOut/DSound conflict. How can I force DSound not to affect system volume? Playback device is initialized: DirectSoundCreate8(&GUID, &pAudio, NULL); and: pAudio-SetCooperativeLevel(parentWnd, DSSCL_PRIORITY); I'm currently not able to debug the application, cause I'm using Vista and everything is OK.   Hi, Trying to delete a subkey tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.hdr. .hdr subkey has one subkey, no values. WTF? I checked and asserted it did exist?

• Removing an Entity from an EntitySet during Iteration...

  I've got this code... seems nice and elegant, but apparently the framework don't like it when i mess with a collection while iterating through it: foreach (KitGroup kg in ProductToTransfer.KitGroups) { // Remove kit groups that have been excluded by the user if (inKitGroupExclusions != null && inKitGroupExclusions.Contains(kg.KitGroupID)) ProductToTransfer.KitGroups.Remove(kg); else { // Loop through the kit items and do other stuff //... } } The error it throws when it iterates to the 2nd object in the collection is: "EntitySet was modified during enumeration" I know i could create a new collection of KitGroup objects (or even just IDs) that i want to remove, and then another loop afterwards to loop through these, and remove them from the collection, but this just seems like unnecessary extra code... can anybody suggest a more elegant way of achieving the same thing?   I've modified my .htaccess file to have the following statement RewriteCond $1 !^index.php$ RewriteRule ^/?([^/]+)$ index.php?c=home&m=details&seo=$1 [L,NS] This allows me to use product URL's like this: http://domain.com/product_name However, when trying to access a file at the same level as index.php, it always calls the RewriteRule above and errors out. I need to be able to access files like below, but each URL currently attempts to load index.php. http://domain.com/about.htm http://domain.com/terms.htm http://domain.com/robots.txt etc Any suggestions on how I can modify my htaccess file to get this to work correctly?

  Hi! I got this url /search/renttype-all.place-all.type-all.bedrooms-all.0.0/ I want to get the text after the second "/" and the third "/". The URL can end at the third "/" or go on with more text and "/". I have been trying with a lot of rules but never got any to work. • sqlite on iphone can open db but not prepare statements

  I'm brand new to using sqlite so I may have missed something basic. I've created a database and copied it into my app's document's directory. I'm able to open it but when I make a call to sqlite3_prepare_v2 I receive SQLITE_ERROR, "SQL error or missing database". here's my code: sqlite3 *database; if(sqlite3_open([dbPath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { sqlite3_stmt *compiledStatement; NSString *sqlStatement = @"select * from dbname"; int result = sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, [sqlStatement UTF8String], -1, &compiledStatement, nil); ... } the same sql statement works in the terminal. • Mixing regular expression and other conditional expression in a bash if statement

  I can't get around this for quite sometime now. As I read along manuals and tutorials I'm getting more confused. I want an if statement with the following logic: if [ -n $drupal_version ] && [[ "$drupal_version" =~ DRUPAL-[6-9]-[1-9][1-9] ]]; then but I can't get it to work properly. When the script is evaluated using the "bash -x ... " script construct, works ok but when is run as a regular script my expression is not evaluated (eventhough the above condition should be met the else part is run). Could you provide any help?

  In general, I don't like to keep code (BaseClasses or DataAccess Code) in the App_Code directory of an ASP.NET Site. I'll usually pull this stuff out into a MySite.BusinessLogic & MySite.DataAccess DLL's respectively. I'm wondering should I be doing the same for ASP.NET MVC. Or am I missing something... presumably, I'll lose some of the nice (Add View, Go To Controller, context menu items that have been added)

  Hi, I am working in mixed mode (managed C++ and C++ in one assembly). I am in a situation something like this. ManagedStructure ^ managedStructure = gcnew ManagedStructure(); //here i set different properties of managedStructure then I call "Method" given below and pass it "& managedStructure" Method(void *ptrToStruct) { ManagedStructure ^ managedStructure2 = gcnew ManagedStructure(); memcpy(&managedStructure2 , ptrToStruct, sizeof(managedStructure2 )); } I have following question about this scenario. 1) Is it safe to use memcpy like this? and if not what is its alternate to achieve same functionality? ( I can't change "Method" definition) 2) I am not freeing any memory as both the structures are managed. Is it fine?

• Crazy VS Designer Errors

  Here's a strange one. After renaming a class, one of my forms began giving me errors in the designer, refusing to open. Funny thing is, the form worked just fine when I ran the program. I began reverting my changes to deduce the problem. I have now reverted completely back to the last commit - in which I know the form was working in the designer - cleaned the solution, and deleted the bin/ and obj/ folders, as well as the *.suo file for good measure. The form still does not display in designer. Here are the errors it gives: Could not find 'MyNamespace.MyControl'. Please make sure that the assembly that contains this type is referenced. If this type is a part of your development project, make sure that the project has been successfully built. The variable 'myControl1' is either undeclared or was never assigned. The variable is both declared and assigned, and MyControl builds fine (again, the form works fine when the program is actually run). Stranger still, if I try to create a new form and drag a MyControl onto it, I get this Entity-Framework error: Failed to create component 'MyControl'. The error message follows: 'System.ArgumentException: The specified named connection is either not found in the configuration, not intended to be used with the EntityClient provider, or not valid. at System.Data.EntityClient.EntityConnection.ChangeConnectionString(String newConnectionString) at System.Data.EntityClient.EntityConnection..ctor(String connectionString) at System.Data.Objects.ObjectContect.CreateEntityConnection(String connectionString) etc. etc. There is nothing wrong with my connection string: it worked before, and, again, it works when I actually run the program (the control already exists on the old form from the previous commit). Any ideas whatsoever? I am completely at a loss.   Hi, I'm trying to write mocks using amop. I'm using Visual Studio 2008. I have this interface class: struct Interface { virtual void Activate() = 0; }; and this other class which receives pointers to this Interface, like this: struct UserOfInterface { void execute(Interface* iface) { iface->Activate(); } }; So I try to write some testing code like this: amop::TMockObject<Interface> mock; mock.Method(&Interface::Activate).Count(1); UserOfInterface user; user.execute((Interface*)mock); mock.Verifiy(); It works! So far so good, but what I really want is a boost::shared_ptr in the execute() method, so I write this: struct UserOfInterface { void execute(boost::shared_ptr<Interface> iface) { iface->Activate(); } }; How should the test code be now? I tried some things, like: amop::TMockObject<Interface> mock; mock.Method(&Interface::Activate).Count(1); UserOfInterface user; boost::shared_ptr<Interface> mockAsPtr((Interface*)mock); user.execute(mockAsPtr); mock.Verifiy(); It compiles, but obviously crashes, since at the end of the scope the variable 'mock' gets double destroyed (because of the stack variable 'mock' and the shared_ptr). I also tried to create the 'mock' variable on the heap: amop::TMockObject<Interface>* mock(new amop::TMockObject<Interface>); mock->Method(&Interface::Activate).Count(1); UserOfInterface user; boost::shared_ptr<Interface> mockAsPtr((Interface*)*mock); user.execute(mockAsPtr); mock->Verifiy(); But it doesn't work, somehow it enters an infinite loop, before I had a problem with boost not finding the destructor for the mocked object when the shared_ptr tried to delete the object. Has anyone used amop with boost::shared_ptr successfully?
