• Does mod_rewrite in subdirectories' .htaccess override higher levels?

  I'm using mod_rewrite to map my old directory structure to a new one. I have the following rule in my top-level .htaccess file, and it works: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /blog/archives/(.*) RewriteRule ^.*$ /archives/%1 [L,R=301] As you can guess, this takes http://example.com/blog/archives/00001.php and redirects it to http://example.com/archives/00001.php. But when I add these rewrite rules to the .htaccess file in the /blog directory RewriteEngine on RewriteRule atom.xml$ /atom.xml [L,R=301] the top-level redirect no longer works. If I move the rule in the /blog .htaccess file to the top-levle file both rules work. Can someone explain what is happening here?

  I am creating a e-learning application , where the students (wireless) connect to the teachers machine, the teacher hosts a tomcat server. the teacher has a set of HTML web-pages(each of which can be thought of as a slide). and the students can view a web slide-show on his/her browser... the problem is.... i want the pages on the students browser to be redirected according to the teachers input.. in short: i want the server to automatically redirect all the client browsers to the next page when the teacher wants it to be so... how do i do it?? [i am using JSP/javascript/Java/Tomcat/Eclipse]

• Restoring web session in struts2

  Hi, I have a classical scenario of a website and payment gateway integration, where the request for payment is sent to payment processor, and the payment processor calls back my application once it's done with some parameters I passed to it in the original request. Among parameters, we pass jsessionid and we expect that when the remote server makes request to our server (via customer browser redirect to our server) that the session will be the same as the session used to send the initial payment request. This does not happen, we have two different sessions, although the payment processor includes our original jsessionid in the request to us (https://blabla/?jsessionid=something). How should we go about recreating a session in struts2, in the only thing that connects the 'OLD' and 'NEW' session is the jsessionid in the request URL? Any ideas? Is this possible at all or is the 'OLD' session data deleted when the user moves away from our server onto a completely different domain of a payment processor with their data-entry form? This would explain our innability to recreate the session. Thanks a lot for your replies.

  ok i am having a problem with redirection on apache, i have a domain configured on my hosting account but the domain needs to be redirected to a folder. eg: / is root of server where the mysite.com answers /mysite is where the files are so i got this htaccess code to do the job: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?mysite.com$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/mysite/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /mysite/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?mysite.com$ RewriteRule ^(/)?$ mysite/index.php [L] plus i made an index.php to redirect to mysite folder. everything seems to be working good the only problem is i added a forum on /mysite/forums/ and for some reason instead of getting mysite.com/forums/ in the browser im getting mysite.com/mysite/forums/ could anyone help me solve this problem? • What happened to the Windows "Midi Mapper"

  I wrote a windows program many years ago, which created music by sending notes to the "midi mapper" (and thence to the midi-synth on my sound-card) Today, I have a soft-synth which, allegedly accepts midi information, so I'd assume it should be possible to use today's equivalent of a midi-mapper to route the midi output from my program to the soft-synth. There's clearly no longer a midi-mapper application in windows, but my program still works (on XP) in that it drives the built-in soundcard synth, so there must be some sort of midi handling layer in windows. How can I get at this? And maybe redirect the midi to the soft-synth?

• Kohana3 - Auth Module deleting User while he is logged in bug

  Hello Stackoverflow Users, Today I've tested the Kohana3, which has been changed a lot. I'm working so much with the Auth Module, and need this in my new Project also. Now I found a Bug, I think it is a bug, what can I do? Problem: After I'm deleting a user from the Database, who is at this Moment logged_in() in my Website, and he is refreshing the page, he will be logged_in() as the first user out of the PRAEFIX_users Table. Even if he is deleted. And 99% this is an Administrator. My function which is checking and redirecting if he is not logged_in(): if(!Auth::instance()->logged_in()) { $this->request->redirect( 'login' ); } How can i change my Check Login so, that if he is deleted, he will be redirected to login (/login/) ? Here the same Thread at Kohana Forums, but I hope and think, stackoverflow is a litte bit faster :)

• stub webserver for integration testing

  I have some integration tests where I want to verify certain requires are made against a third-[arty webserver. I was thinking I would replace the third-party server with a stub server that simply logs calls made to it. The calls do not need to succeed, but I do need a record of the requests made (mainly just the path+querystring). I was considering just using IIS for this. I could 1) set up an empty site, 2) modify the system's host file to redirect requests to that site 3) parse the log file at the end of each test. This is problematic as for IIS the log files are not written to immediately, and the files are written to continuosly. I'll need to locate the file, read the contents before the test, wait a nondeterministic amount of time after the test, read the update contents, etc. Can someone think of a simpler way?

  Hi, I am devolping a web application.the problem is that i am using a login control (not a .NET control) which is a part of master page and is acessible from all pages. if user log In from a page the login control updates itself and displlay some statistics of logged In user but the specific page does not reload. (some options on page are visible only to authenticated users, so that after login, page should be reloaded to display such options) after logIn methoed I wrote Reponse.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri) after this the browser response the "Page cannot be displayed" It would be of great help to me. • Redirecting input to another view

  My application is working fine on the normal iPad display, but I also need to output to VGA out. When I do this, I need to add the view to the external screen's window which seems to mean that I can't use it to accept input from the iPad screen. I want to redirect input from the iPad's window to the window displaying on the external screen. As far as I can tell there's no standard method of doing this. I've tried overriding hitTest on the iPad's window view to send it to the window on the external display, but the coordinates seem to get messed up in the process which makes it nigh unusable. I've also tried subclassing the iPad's UIWindow and catching events in sendEvent, then trying to send them to the external window, but this doesn't seem to work at all. Any help would be appreciated, I'm happy to post any code you would like to see. Thanks, Jon

• How to track different button clicks with Google Analytics and AJAX?

  I have several pages, let's call them A, B and C. Each of these pages has a form where the user can type in some information and click a button to send those information to the server. This button click is performed in an UpdatePanel to prevent a full postback. A customer of ours now wants to know how many % of the using visiting each site (A, B and C have different URLs) use this form. (Meaning I need seperate values for A, B and C) How to I track this in Google Analytics? It seems that I have to create a conversion(??) for each page. Is that correct? How must I modify the existing web application to let Google Analytics know, that a user submitted the form. (without the need to redirect thank to xy amount of different thank you pages) The only piece of information I've found so far is this: http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55519 Unfortunately, this FAQ entry does not cover my answer.

  Hi, I've just started to play around with MVP in asp.net. One thing I quite cant figure out is how do I pass information, i.e. an integer variable from one view(webform) to another. Let's I have a customerlistView which is mapped to a customerlist.aspx page. From it I select a customer and it's record id. Say I want to display the customer's details in another view (i.e customerDetailView, customerdetail.aspx). How do I achieve that ? Does that mean customerlistView would call the presenter of the customerdetail and cause a page redirect ? Any ideas ? thanks

I've used response.redirect("Thankyou.aspx") a lot in the past I've also used something like this for hiding form controls and outputting a message: outResult.Attributes.Remove("style") outResult.Attributes.Add("style", "display:block;") outEntry.Attributes.Remove("style") outEntry.Attributes.Add("style", "display:none;") For the above you have to consider post backs that may occur if the user click refresh though. • Can Symfony simply reload a page request?

  I have an app that receives a request from another app. It detects a value on the query string, checks that value against a cached value and, if they don't match, it needs to clear its cache and reload the page (establishing a new cache). Unfortunately, I can't find a way to tell Symfony to redirect to the current page in exactly the same format (protocol, URI path, query string, etc.). What am I missing? This is all happening in a filter on isFirstCall(). Thanks.

Here's my sample dataframe named 'b' Winner Color Size Tom Yellow Med Jerry Yellow Lar Jane Blue Med where items in the Winner column are factors. I'm trying to change "Tom" in the dataframe to "Tom LLC" and I can't get it done. Here's what I tried: Simple way: b$winner[b$winner=='Tom'] = as.factor('Tom LLC') but that failed with "invalid factor level, NAs generated" Next I tried a more advanced route: name_reset = function (x, y, z) { if (x$winner == y) {x$winner = z} } b = adply(b,1,name_reset,'Tom','Tom LLC') but that failed with "Error in list_to_dataframe(res, attr(.data, "split_labels")) : Results are not equal lengths" I feel I'm missing something basic. • Redirecting user from an old web to another in Sharepoint

  Hi all: I want to add the ability to redirect users when they visit certain old sites. The URL of the old sites are unknown, but the server name is the same, e.g. Old site url: http://sharepoint/mySite/default.aspx New site url: http://sharepoint/myNewSite/... There are a lot of other pages within mySite, most of which must be redirected to the new site, but there are exceptions (e.g. user can still view the documents within the site). I thought I have to do this programmatically by somehow capturing the http request and read the url myself. Being no sharepoint guru, I had a quick google, and found that writing a web part is prehaps the best alternative for my situation. But I'm just wondering, given my situation and needs, is writing a web part, or something programmatically, really the ideal solution? Or is there a faster and quicker way to achieve what I want using Sharepoint? Thanks.

• OpenID token from Google (using www)?

  I've come across the following situation when using OpenID and Google as the authenticator. If you type siteName.com it takes you to http://sitename.com Which returns a different token than if I were to login to www.siteName.com, which would take me to http://www.siteName.com As a result, Google returns a different authentication token. Is there a simple fix around this? Maybe redirect the user from siteName.com to www.siteName.com? Would this be a server issue, or is this something I can do programmatically? Thanks in advance for any answers, this question had plagued me for some time now as I just figured out why others had been receiving different credentials upon logging in.

• Using JS to POST a form in an iframe.

  I would like to POST a form in an iframe, generated like so: My JS loads an iframe inside the page, adds a form to the iframe and submits the form. What I would like to happen is the iframe to load the result of that request. So, I would effectively like to post a form and render the result inside the iframe, without touching the parent (apart from putting the iframe up for display in the first place). I am using the code from this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/133925/javascript-post-request-like-a-form-submit/134003#134003 but I can't get it to not reload the parent. I post the form, and instead of the iframe refreshing, the entire parent refreshes. I don't know why that is, since the url it's posting to is different and would at least redirect there. Can anyone help me with this problem? I just want a post inside an iframe and only within the iframe, basically.

  How can I open a web-page and receive its cookies using PHP? The motivation: I am trying to use feed43 to create an RSS feed from the non-RSS-enabled HighLearn website (remote learning website). I found the web-page that contains the feed contents I need to parse, however, it requires to login first. Luckily, logging in can be done via a GET request so it's as easy as fopen()ing "http://highlearn.website/login_page.asp?userID=foo&password=bar" for example. But I still need to get the cookies generated when I logged in, pass the cookies to the real client (using setcookie() maybe?) and then redirect.
