• Passing a JavaScript variable to a helper method

  I am using ASP.NET MVC 3 and the YUI library. I created my own helper method to redirect to an edit view by passing in the item's ID from the Model as such: window.location = '@Url.RouteUrl(Url.NewsEdit(@Model.NewsId))'; Now I am busy populating my YUI data table and would like to call my helper method like above, not sure if it is possible because I get the item's ID by JavaScript like: var formatActionLinks = function (oCell, oRecord, oColumn, oData) { var newsId = oRecord.getData('NewsId'); oCell.innerHTML = '<a href="/News/Edit/' + newsId + '">Edit</a>'; };

• Redirected wikipedia request

  Hi people, i need to write a program, that can redirect's http://localhost:8080 to en.wikipedia.org, it seems to be easy, but i have some problems(only with wikipedia with another sites works good). I make url to wikipedia: URL url = new URL("http", "en.wikipedia.org", 80, "/wiki"); than URLConnection, extract headers, and when i want connection.getInputStream(), i received message 404 Not Found. So i have tried some hack for host header, because in this way host header is localhost:8080, therefor i have tried to change host header to wikipedia, and it works, but after request in browser http://localhost:8080 wikipedia opens, but url in browser changes to en.wikipedia.org, but i want proceed with localhost :)

• Kernel thread exit in linux

  Hi guys, I'm here to ask you the difference between a process and a thread in linux. I know that a thread for linux is just a "task", which shares with the father process things that they need to have in common (the address space and other important informations). I also know that the two are creating calling the same function ('clone()'), but there's still something that I'm missing: what really happens when a thread exit? What function is called inside the linux kernel? I know that when a process exits calls the do_exit function, but here or somewhere else there should be a way to understand if it is just a thread exiting or a whole process. Can you explain me this thing or redirect to some textbook?? I tried 'Understanding the linux kernel' but I was not satisfied with it. I'm asking this thing because a need to add things to the task_struct struct, but I need to discriminate how to manage those informations for a process and its children. Thank you.

• "digg" button and encoded url :S

  Hi! I wrote a php site (it's still a prototype) and i placed a "Digg" button. Placing the button was easy but.... Official manual says "url has to be encoded". I did that with urlencode(). After urlencode, my url looks like this: http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mysite.com%2Fen%2Fredirect.php%3Fl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.othersite.rs%2FNews%2FWorld%2F227040%2FRusia-Airplane-crashed%26N%3DRusia%3A+Airplane+crashed So far, so good but when i want to submit that url to digg, it is recognized as invalid url: http://www.mysite.com/en/redirect.php?l=http://www.othersite.rs/News/World/227040/Rusia-Airplane-crashed&N=Rusia:+Airplane crashed If i place a "+" between "Airplane" and "crashed" (mere end of a link), then digg recognize it without any problems! Please help, this bizare problem is killing my braincells! P.S. for purpose of this answer urls are changed (nonexisting) because, in original, non-english sites are involved P.S.S. • Passenger, Apache and avoiding page caching

  I'm hosting a rack application with passenger and apache. The application is setup to cache the content of each request to the public directory after each request. This allows apache to serve the content directly as a static page for future requests. I would like to tell Apache, presumably through some rewrite rules that any requests with query parameters should not be cached, but instead passed down to the rack application. With a mongrel setup I would just redirect it to the balancer if it meets my rewrite conditions. How do you do the same with passenger?

  We are using ICEFaces 1.8 and I would like to perform a forward to a new URL, but want it to open in a new window. • Kohana v2 - problem with routes

  Hi, I'm attempting to set some custom routes in Kohana v2. What I'm looking for is some method that allow the system to : follow a pre-defined name to it's related root; redirect the non-matched url's into another controller; To give you a more clear view over the problem, I want the first url parameter to be associated to certain pages (contacts, home, services, about us, etc), and those urls who doesn't match the previous pages would be routed into a controller called products, in order to determine if the first url parameter regards a product name. Here's a sample of what I have : $config['_default'] = 'home'; $config['([a-zA-Z]+)'] = 'products/showcat/$1'; What am I missing here? Thanks in advance!

That website is doing it in plain <script> tag, so it is impossible to bypass it by overriding the onload event using document.body.setAttribute('onload','');. • What's the best way to add tags to the head in Plone?

I understand that filling the head_slot is a way to do it, but that can only happen when you are adding a template to the page and that template is being rendered.   I have a page that contains several forms, by submitting each one of them, next form becomes visible. the last form contains a recaptcha validator, my problem starts here, if i declare an action result for that page like this [CaptchaValidator] public ActionResult myAction(SomeModel model, string lang) { return View("towing", model); } I'm getting an argument null exeption parameter "Challenge", which in fact means that you have to POST those fields from recaptcha for the validation to appear and I cannot post anyting untill the last for is visible and posted. then I've added a news ActionResult like myActionValidated, defined a route for it like: mypage/validate pointing to that actionresult and then i don't know where to go from here, i want simply do display a message if the reCaptcha did not validate and redirect to a URL if it succeeded. • Java Security filter together with thickbox pop-ups

  Hi, I have a java application that uses a security filter to protect certain resources. If there is no user logged on, it will keep in session the request path and redirect to a logon page. After a successful logon, user is redirected to the original requested page. I have now added some thickbox (ajax bases pop-up) popups to the application. Unfortunately, when I get now a popup that is "secure" the filter redirects to a logon page (which is not a popup) and makes the whole application messy. Anyone with ideas on how to solve this?   i got a little problem with a wordpress site that uses contact form 7 and android browser (at least android v1.5). when a user submits the cf7 form (using ajax followed by a js redirect) and tries to return to the forms page later (using the back button as well as opening the form's url) the download prompt for a 'downloadfile.bin' appears. this behavior can not be reproduced on any other mobile or desktop browsers. could anyone shed some light on this issue? thank you in advance!

• Content organizer auto create folder has wrong time in sharepoint 2010

  Hi, I have a problem, I am using the content organizer feature to redirect document on upload and the auto create folder feature of it, the property used is a date set by the user when the document gets uploaded. My problem is that when the folder gets created it writes the time set by the user minus two hours, I see that it uses GMT time while everything on the server, the site and the computers is set to UTC+2, so how come it still uses GMT time ? • How do I render a partial to a string from within a filter attached to a controller

  I have some code I need to use in multiple controllers in a rails 1.0 application (I can't, for strange reasons upgrade to a newer rails). I've extracted the relevant code into a filer object, and I'm using the around_filter construct to execute it. Before the extract, I was using the method render_to_string() to get the contents of a rendered partial into a string. However, this method is protected, so I am unable to access it from within my Filter object. As a workaround, I tried adding this to my ApplicationController: def render_to_string(*a) super(*a) end this seems to have remedied the protection level issue, but now I get the error: Can only render or redirect once per action When no such error occurred before the extraction. Why? Is there a different approach I should take here?

  My situation is a little strange I guess, suggestion of engineering is acceptable. I have a DropDownList, on my "user" creation, called "city". When I'm creating the user I can create other city, but for this I have a button which redirect to other page. So, ok. I've created the new City and now I click on my DropDownList of cities and guess what?! The field is not reloaded. • Ubuntu quickly (python/gtk) - how to monitor stdin?

  I'm starting to work with Ubuntu's "quickly" framework, which is python/gtk based. I want to write a gui wrapper for a textmode C state-machine that uses stdin/stdout. I'm new to gtk. I can see that the python print command will write to the terminal window, so I assume I could redirect that to my C program's stdin. But how can I get my quickly program to monitor stdin (i.e. watch for the C program's stdout responses)? I suppose I need some sort of polling loop, but I don't know if/where that is supported within the "quickly" framework. Or is redirection not the way to go - should I be looking at something like gobject.spawn_async?

  I'm working on a new website that uses the Facebook API for users to login and several implementations of the graph Api. My workflow usually is: Development on localhost Development using MAMP/XAMPP or similar software Push to server - testing domain A team of people can test the changes for a few days to see if everything works as planned. Push to server - live domain Changes are live for public Facebook uses the site URL in the appsettings and for security reasons, they will only redirect to that url... Problem is.. I have localhost and 2 different domains. How can I make this work? Ofcourse I could edit the hostsfile, but that only fixes it for localhost.. Still no solution for the testdomain. Please tell me this is somehow possible! I'm getting more and more depressed with the Facebook API.

  Hello. Is it possible to somehow change standart I/O functions handle on Windows? Language preffered is C++. If I understand it right, by selecting console project, compiler just pre-allocate console for you, and operates all standart I/O functions to work with its handle. So, what I want to do is to let one Console app actually write into another app Console buffer. I though that I could get first´s Console handle, than pass it to second app by a file (I don´t know much about interprocess comunication, and this seems easy) and than somehow use for example prinf with the first app handle. Can this be done? I know how to get console handle, but I have no idea how to redirect printf to that handle. Its just study-purpose project to more understand of OS work behind this. I am interested in how printf knows what Console it is assiciated with.

• Why a thread is aborted in ASP.NET MVC (again)?

  Here is what I do in a controller action: create and start a new Thread that does a relatively long processing task (~30 seconds on average, but might be several minutes) immediately return the page response so the user knows processing has started (trivially, a Json with a task ID for polling purposes). At some random point, ThreadAbortException is thrown, so the async task does not complete. The exception is not thrown every time, it just happens randomly roughly 25% of the times. Points to note: I'm not calling Response.End or Response.Redirect - there isn't even a request running when the exception is thrown I tried using ThreadPool and I got the same behavior I know running threads in ASP.NET has several caveats but I don't care right now Any suggestion?

  Hello, I am working on a large web application which I have recently shelved tons of .aspx pages from the project. To avoid page not found error, I added these entities in the xml which came around 300+ in count. I wrote a http module that checks the request url in the xml entities and if they are found, my module is going to redirect the request to respective new pages. Everything works great, but my collection is getting iterated for all the requests, I mean for each and every .jpg, .css, .js, .ico, .pdf etc. Is there any object or property in .net that can tell the type of request that user requested for like HttpContext.request.type. So that I can avoid checking the request for all unwanted file types.

  Your typical "It doesn't work" freak out going on over here. Any direction would help. I have a login control on my master page and I'm trying to only display it using jquery fancybox and then redirect the user once they are logged in. But any buttons or controls that should do "something" when pressed when I put inside the fancy box are not responding.
