HI, I have simple HTML code with some javascript, it looks like: <html> <head><script type="text/javascript">...</script></head> <body> <input type="radio" name="radiobutton" value="A" onClick="changeDivContent()"> <input type="radio" name="radiobutton" value="B" onClick="changeDivContent()"> <div id="content"></div> </body> </html> I just wanted to be able change div's content (it's inner html) with selecting one of "A" or "B" radio buttons, but div#content does not have javascript attribute "value", so I am asking how it can be done. I use an API that expects a SQL string. I take a user input, escape it and pass it along to the API. The user input is quiet simple. It asks for column values. Like so: string name = userInput.Value; Then I construct a SQL query: string sql = string.Format("SELECT * FROM SOME_TABLE WHERE Name = '{0}'", name.replace("'", "''")); Is this safe enough? If it isn't, is there a simple library function that make column values safe: string sql = string.Format("SELECT * FROM SOME_TABLE WHERE Name = '{0}'", SqlSafeColumnValue(name)); The API uses SQLServer as the database. Javascript how many characters replaced in a regex?

I am sanitizing an input field and manually getting and setting the caret position in the process. With some abstraction, here's the basic idea: <input type="text" onkeyup"check(this)"> And javascript... function check(element) { var charPosition = getCaretPosition(element); $(element).val( sanitize( $(element).val() ) ); setCaretPosition(element, charPosition); } function sanitize(s) { return s.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9\s]/g, ''); } This is working fine except when a character does actually get sanitized, my caret position is off by one. Basically I'd like a way to see if the sanitize function has actually replaced a character (and at what index) so then I can adjust the charPosition if necessary. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if there is a way I can dynamically load and unload a TinyMCE plugin after TinyMCE has already been loaded? Specifically, I'm thinking about asking the user whether or not they wish to load the fullpage plugin using perhaps a radio button or something above TinyMCE: <input type="radio" name="fullpage" value="enabled" /> Enable Fullpage Plugin<br /> <input type="radio" name="fullpage" value="disabled" /> Disable Fullpage Plugin<br /> <textarea name="tinymce" id="tinymce">...</textarea> I suppose I could destroy the original instance and load a new config (one for enabled / one for disabled), but it seems as though there should be a more elegant way of loading and unloading plugins.

jqGrid local date manipulation; problem with row ids when deleting and adding new rows

I'm using jqGrid as a client side grid input, allowing the user to input multiple records before POSTing all the data back at once. I'm having a problem where if the user has added a few records (say 3 ) the id's for the records will be 1,2,3. if the user deletes record 2, you're left with 1 and 3 for the id of the records. When the user now adds a new records, jqGrid assigns that records the id 3 again since it just seems to count the total records and increments it by one for the new record. This causes problems when selecting rows as now the row id's are 1, 3 and 3. Does anyone know how to access the row ids of records as I could probably use the afterSubmit event and reassign the row id's increasing from 1. ( so after i delete row id 2, this will set the other row id's to 1 and 2) Any other suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks

I have this function called ProperCase that takes a string, then converts the first letter in each word to uppercase. So ProperCase("john smith") will return "John Smith". I have a route defined in CI, $route['user/activate-account/:any'] = "user/activate_account"; People access the route in this url pattern, http://mydomain.com/user/activate-account/user_id/12345/token/abcdefghijk Inside the activate_account function, I tried to use the following codes to retrieve the required data, $user_id=$this->input->get('user_id'); $token=$this->input->get('token'); But they return FALSE, does this mean that for this kind of url pattern, I am supposed to use the functions provided by the URI class (http://codeigniter.com/user_guide/libraries/uri.html) to retrieve the variables?

Artifical neural networks height-weight problem

i plan to use neurodotnet for my phd thesis, but before that i just want to build some small solutions to get used to the dll structure. the first problem that i want to model using backward propagation is height-weight ratio. I have some height and weight data, i want to train my NN so that if i put in some weight then i should get correct height as a output. i have 1 input 1 hidden and 1 output layer. Now here is first of many things i cant get around :) 1. my height data is in form of 1.422, 1.5422 ... etc and the corresponding weight data is 90 95, but the NN takes the input as 0/1 or -1/1 and given the output in the same range. how to address this problem

Hi, I'm having an issue verifying if a checkbox is checked using jquery on Internet Explorer. PHP/Javascript - get php variable within javascript

I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

Is it possible to gzip and upload this string to Amazon S3 without ever being written to disk?

I know this is probably possible using Streams, but I wasn't sure the correct syntax. I would like to pass a string to the Save method and have it gzip the string and upload it to Amazon S3 without ever being written to disk. The current method inefficiently reads/writes to disk in between. ASP.Net Cross Page Posting

Currently I have two pages: The first page contains an input form, and the 2nd page generates an excel document. The input form's button posts to this 2nd page. What I'd like to do is add a second button which also posts to the 2nd page; however, I'll need requests created from this new button to act differently, which brings me to my question: Is there a way I can tell, from the 2nd page, which button was pressed to submit the request? The main reason I'm asking is I'd like to re-use the 2nd page's logic in parsing the information from the first page if possible; I'd rather not have to copy it to a new page and have the new button post to that. /regexp?/ on HTML, but not in form

I need to do some regex replacement on HTML input, but I need to exclude some parts from filtering by other regexp. (e.g. remove all <a> tags with specific href="example.com…, except the ones that are inside the <form> tag) Is there any smart regex technique for this? Or do I have to find all forms using $regex1, then split the input to the smaller chunks, excluding the matched text blocks, and then run the $regex2 on all the chunks?

Klik for at skrive</textarea><br /> Ja: <input type="checkbox" value="Y" id="SCvote" name="SCvote"> eller Nej: <input type="checkbox" value="N" name="SCvote"> Now onfocus (when you click on the box) it clears the text "Skriv hvorfor...", but if you dont write anything and still submit it, my php code thinks it contains something and inserts that text "Skriv hvorfor...". And another issue is the checkboxes. If i dont pick anything, it inserts "Y", even if i pick the other "N" it does "Y", and i dont want it to be possible that you can check both of them. how do i do?

CSS Padding Issue w/ submit button

This is a dumb problem but I can't seem to set the padding on a submit button properly. No matter what I input for padding, the width and height of the button never changes. Here is the css: .green_submit { color: #fff; background-color: #94c909; border-right: 1px solid #6d9307; border-bottom: 1px solid #6d9307; border-left: none; border-top: none; padding: 25px; } And the HTML: <input type="submit" class='green_submit' value="Validate" /> Any obvious problems here? I have the following tables in a database (i'll only list the important attributes): Person(ssn,countryofbirth) Parents(ssn,fatherbirthcountry) Employment(ssn, companyID) Company(companyID, name) My task is this: given fatherbirthcountry as input, output the names of companies where persons work whose countryofbirth match the fatherbirthcountry input. I pretend that the fatherbirthcountry is Mexico and do this: SELECT name FROM Company WHERE companyid = (SELECT companyid FROM Employment WHERE ssn = (SELECT ssn FROM Person WHERE countryofbirth = 'Mexico'); but it is giving me an error: >Scalar subquery is only allowed to return a single row. am I completely off track? Can anybody please help?

Discussion: Working TDD in a Scrum context

Hi all, When I work TDD I tend to start out with the big picture and create the tests that should succeed in order for the overall assignment to be completed - it then kicks off a number of supporting classes/methods/tests as I 'dig in'. If my assignment has been planned out in detail, I would then open one task, and in order to solve it, open another and then another. Only when the overall tests are succeeding can I close the original task, which means that at any given time, I would have a number of open tasks. I find that this approach conflict somewhat with the scrum approach where, ideally, I should be able to take and close a task within a day's work - and never have more than one task open at a time. I'm looking for input about how you manage this in your project - references to articles are also very welcome, I'm sure this has been debated thoroughly somewhere...
