  Here's my (code golf) challenge: Take two arrays of bytes and determine if the second array is a substring of the first. If it is, output the index at which the contents of the second array appear in the first. If you do not find the second array in the first, then output -1. Example Input: { 63, 101, 245, 215, 0 } { 245, 215 } Expected Output: 2 Example Input 2: { 24, 55, 74, 3, 1 } { 24, 56, 74 } Expected Output 2: -1 Edit: Someone has pointed out that the bool is redundant, so all your function has to do is return an int representing the index of the value or -1 if not found.

  Say i create one object and add it to my ArrayList. If I then create another object with exactly the same constructor input, will the contain() method evaluate the two objects to be the same? Assume the constructor doesn't do anything funny with the input, and the variables stored in both objects are identical. • Finding the actual runtime call tree of a Java Program

  Suppose I have a big program that consists of hundreds of methods in it. And according to the nature of input the program flow is getting changed. Think I want to make a change to the original flow. And it is big hassle to find call hierarchy/ references and understand the flow. Do I have any solution for this within Eclipse? Or a plugin? As an example, I just need a Log of method names that is in order of time. Then I don't need to worry about the methods that are not relevant with my "given input" Update : Using debug mode in eclipse or adding print messages are not feasible. The program is sooooo big. :)

  What is the difference between a rules engine and an expert system? Example1: Let's say that I have a program that determines the expiration date of a new driver's license. It takes inputs like visa expiration date, passport number, birthday, etc. It determines the expiration date of the driver's license from this input. It can even give an error if the input did not have enough valid identifications to allow a new driver's license. Example2: Let's say I am making an online version of the game Monopoly. I want the ability to change the rules of the game (say $400 for passing go or no one can buy properties until they land on the same property twice, etc). I have a module in the code to handle these rules. Are these both rules engines or are they expert systems? They both seem so similar. Is it just a synonym?

  Hi all, I have this upload code. there are no problem running it individually, but when i try to add into my other codes, it did not get the $_files parameter. Im guessing it was becoz of enctype="multipart/form-data" in the form tag, based on this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1695246/why-file-upload-didnt-work-without-enctype the enctype is needed. • Query to return internal details about stored function in SQL Server database

  I have been given access to a SQL Server database that is currently used by 3rd party app. As such, I don't have any documentation on how that application stores the data or how it retrieves it. I can figure a few things out based on the names of various tables and the parameters that the user-defined functions takes and returns, but I'm still getting errors at every other turn. I was thinking that it would be really helpful if I could see what the stored functions were doing with the parameters given to return the output. Right now all I've been able to figure out is how to query for the input parameters and the output columns. Is there any built-in information_schema table that will expose what the function is doing between input and output?

• Pipe ffmpeg to oggenc(2) with .NET

  I am trying to encode ogg files at -q 6/192k. ffmpeg doesnt seem to be listenting to my command ffmpeg -i blah -acodec vorbis -ab 192k -y out.ogg So i would like to use the recommended ogg encoder. It says the input must be wav or similar. I would like to pipe a wav from ffmpeg to ogg. However not only am i unsure if oggenc2 will accept input from stdin, i have no idea how to pipe one process to another inside of .net using the Process class.

I am programming a program to search the name from the list and I need to find them if the keyword is not in front of the names (that's what I mean non-prefix) e.g. if I my list is the music instruments and I type "guit" to the search textbox. • A shortest path problem with superheroes and intergalactic journeys

  You are a super-hero in the year 2222 and you are faced with this great challenge: starting from your home planet Ilop you must try to reach Acinhet or else your planet will be destroyed by evil green little monsters. To do this you are given a map of the universe: there are N planets and M inter-planetary connections ( bidirectional ) that bind these planets. Each connection requires a certain time and a certain amount of fuel in order for you to cover the connection from one planet to another. The total time spent going from one planet to another is obtained by multiplying the time past to cover each connection between all the planets you go through. There are some "key planets", that allow you to refuel if you arrive on those certain "key planets". A "key planet" is the planet with the property that if it disappears the road between at least two planets would be lost.(In the example posted below with the input/output files such a "key planet" is 2 because without it the road to 7 would be lost) When you start your mission you are given the possibility of choosing between K ships each with its own maximum fuel capacity. The goal is to find the SHORTEST TIME CONSUMING path but also choose the ship with the minimum fuel capacity that can cover that shortest path(this means that if more ships can cover the shortest path you choose the one with the minimum fuel capacity). Because the minimum time can be a rather large number (over long long int) you are asked to provide only the last 6 digits of the number.   I want to create classes Car, Vehicle, and Airplane with the following properties: Car and Airplane are both subclasses of Vehicle. Car and Airplane both have an initWithString method. The acceptable input strings for Car's and Airplane's initWithString methods do not overlap. Vehicle is "almost abstract", in the sense that any initialized instance should be either a Car or an Airplane. It is possible to pass a string into Vehicle and get back an instance of Car, an instance of Airplane, or nil, depending on the input string. Any particular design pattern I should prefer? In particular for Vehicle's initWithString and/or newVehicleWithString methods.

• JPopupMenu getParent() returning a null?

  Ok so I'm working on an Eclipse plugin based on the JGraph example. The problem is I can't really get the "save" method to work, here's how the program works in short: - I have a DiagramEditor class with an init() method, where I create a GraphEditor object and call the createFrame() methord of that object. - GraphEditor extends the BasicGraphEditor (which extends JPanel), the createFrame() method returns a JFrame and has a line "frame.setJMenuBar(menuBar)" - the "menuBar" is an object variable, which is initialized in the BasicGraphEditor. Till here everything is cool, the problem is with the action listener which is supposed to save a file. To get the graph I need to get the GraphEditor component, so I do a Component component = (Component) e.getSource() whitch is the ActionEvent passed to that action listener and at that stage is the JMenuItem "save", then I get the parent which is the JPopupMenu, then I want to get that JPopupMenu's parent which should be the GraphEdiotor, but instead I get a null. Any idea why?   I have a Pig program where I am trying to compute the minimum center between two bags. In order for it to work, I found I need to COGROUP the bags into a single dataset. The entire operation takes a long time. I want to either open one of the bags from disk within the UDF, or to be able to pass another relation into the UDF without needing to COGROUP...... In order to do this, I do a cross and then a COGROUP by PatentNumber in order to get the set PatentNumber, {wordcounts}, {kcenters}. If I could figure a way to pass a relation or open up the centers from within the UDF, then I could just GROUP wordcounts by PatentNumber and run myudfs.kmeans(wordcount) which is hopefully much faster without the CROSS/COGROUP. This is an expensive operation. Currently this takes about 20 minutes and appears to tack the CPU/RAM. I was thinking it might be more efficient without the CROSS. I'm not sure it will be faster, so I'd like to experiment. Anyway it looks like calling the Loading functions from within Pig needs a PigContext object which I don't get from an evalfunc. And to use the hadoop file system, I need some initial objects as well, which I don't see how to get. So my question is how can I open a file from the hadoop file system from within a PIG UDF? I also run the UDF via main for debugging. So I need to load from the normal filesystem when in debug mode. Another better idea would be if there was a way to pass a relation into a UDF without needing to CROSS/COGROUP. This would be ideal, particularly if the relation resides in memory.. ie being able to do myudfs.kmeans(wordcounts, kcenters) without needing the CROSS/COGROUP with kcenters... But the basic idea is to trade IO for RAM/CPU cycles. Anyway any help will be much appreciated, the PIG UDFs aren't super well documented beyond the most simple ones, even in the UDF manual.

  I have been suggested to use should:rise in my test case to test for errors that a method might raise. For some reason it does not work as axpected, so I want to verify that I'm doing it right. Here is the code in the test case: self should: [aMyClass compareTo: 'This is a string'] raise: 'invalid input'. My compareTo/1 method looks like this: (aMyClass isKindOf: MyClass) ifFalse: [self error: 'invalid input'.]. The test runner output is that there is "1 errors". Thank you.
