  • Apache server randomly stopped working yesterday. How can I fix it?

    I use Apache version 2.2.11 through WampServer to host a website. Every time during the last week I tried to connect to localhost it went through and everything was fine. Now all of a sudden I get errors. I didn't change the configuration or anything as far as I know, it just stopped working for no apparent reason. As I said before, it's been working fine. Any way I can get it back up and working again?

  • how do you control the width of a jquery ui autocomplete combobox

    i am using this jquery ui combobox autocomplete control out of the box off the jquery ui website: my issue is that i have multiple comboboxes on a page and i want them to have different widths for each one. i can change the width for ALL of them by adding this css: .ui-autocomplete-input { width:300px; } but i can't figure out a way to change the width on just one of them

  • How will Facebook Authenticate let me ID a user?

    I have a website where I need to have data that is ID'd by user. For example, they enter their favorite food: userid favorite food ------ ------------- 1 french fries 2 tacos 3 fish sticks 4 chipotle When I use Facebook Authentication, what identifier will I use for the userid? I'm assuming it's not name, since this would create duplicates. Is it just the person's Facebook ID? Also is the correct API to use for 3rd party websites 'Facebook Connect' or 'Facebook Authorization' or something else?

    I'm using a modified version of Modern Clix by Rodrigo Galindez on my website, and I've encountered a problem with gaps on top of every one of my posts in IE.   • Setting Quercus db connection encoding to UTF-8 (urgent problem and need your great help)

    Now we are going to use java class in my website developed with PHP + mySQL. I came to know Quercus and it worked well. But only problem is encoding. Quercus is providing ISO8859 encoding in default and all database in UTF-8 is not shown properly like ???. If anybody know the way to set Quercus db connection encoding to UTF-8, please help me.   • Want to show <embed> and <object> tags from YUI editor as a text rather then a video.

    I am using YUI rich text editor on my website (php/mysql), so that a user may enter textual matter/articles through it. But if a user copies and paste some embed code in the textarea, from any video sites like youtube, it should get saved as a text block and not as a playing video when showing the text content on the browser. Now YUI automatically converts the characters into html entities which ever is needed. Please note that if I put a new line in the yui editor (by pressing "Enter" key), it will be converted into a "<br>" tag in the background and this will not get html entity encoded when passing the value to my backend PHP script. But If I copy and paste any embed tag or for that reason any valid html tags in the textarea, it will be html entity encoded by YUI. Now to support UTF-8 characters, I am using a function (DBVarConv) in my php script before saving it into my database. The code for the function is given below function DBVarConv($var,$isEncoded = false) { if($isEncoded) return addslashes(htmlentities($var, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8', false)); else return htmlentities ($var, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8', false); } $myeditorData = DBVarConv($myeditorData, true); // Save $myeditorData in database. While showing the data in the browser, I am using another function called "smart_html_entity_decode". The code is given below. function smart_html_entity_decode($text, $isAddslashesUsed = false) { if($isAddslashesUsed) $tmp = stripslashes(html_entity_decode($text, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8')); else $tmp = html_entity_decode($text, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); if ($tmp == $text) return $tmp; return smart_html_entity_decode($tmp, $isAddslashesUsed); } // Get $myData from database $myData=smart_html_entity_decode($myData, true); echo $myData; The problem is that in doing so, it is also decoding the embed and object tags from their html encoded entities and as a result my obejct tags are shown as a video and not as a simple text. Try using the text editor at tumblr.com. If you paste an embed code in the editor, it will be shown as a text block not as a video. I am trying to build the same functionality on my website with UTF-8 support. Any help will be highly appreciated.

    I have been given a task to create an admin page to programmatically add IPs or domains to a SMTP Relay Restrictions using C#. I spent some time researching this since yesterday and finally traced this down to a few posts on several website that use the System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntr class. Using the examples I found, I can add or deny IPs or domains under Connection control but not Relay Restrictions. What would be the commands in C# to add IPs to the Relay Restrictions? Are there any (preferably free) shipping calculators which accept a customers address and return the cost for different delivery companies / delivery options? It would be nice if the API could indicate cost vs delivery time. We'll be shipping world-wide if that makes a difference?

Here is my question though, This will enable me to program and test through localhost. How can I set this up so anyone on the web can access my .php pages from any Internet capable device, and they will still interact with my local database, etc?
