I'd like something that works regardless of the position of the parenthesis in the text (beginning, middle, end, whatever). I don't care about keeping the text inside the parenthesis, just removing it. Thanks!

  • running a stored procedure inside a sql trigger

    Hi all, the business logic in my application requires me to insert a row in table X when a row is inserted in table Y. Furthermore, it should only do it between specific times(which I have to query another table for). I have considered running a script every 5 minutes or so to check this, but I stumbled upon triggers and figured this might be a better way to do it. But I find the syntax for procedures a little bewildering and I keep getting an error I have no idea how to fix. Here is where I start: CREATE TRIGGER reservation_auto_reply AFTER INSERT ON reservation FOR EACH ROW BEGIN IF NEW.sent_type = 1 /* In-App */ THEN INSERT INTO `messagehistory` (`trip`, `fk`, `sent_time`, `status`, `message_type`, `message`) VALUES (NEW.trip, NEW.psk, 'NOW()', 'submitted', 4, 'This is an automated reply to reservation'); END; I get an error in the VALUES part of the statmenet but im not sure where.     Hello, I have a stored procedure, which has got executed without any errors, but gives me an error "#1054: Unknown column 'templateName' in where clause" when I run it.     Like in Oracle VARCHAR( 60 CHAR ) I would like to specify a varchar field with variable length depending on the inserted characters. for example: create table X (text varchar(3)) insert into X (text) VALUES ('äöü') Should be possible (with UTF8 as the default charset of the database). On DB2 I got this Error: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-302, SQLSTATE=22001 (Character data, right truncation occurred; for example, an update or insert value is a string that is too long for the column, or a datetime value cannot be assigned to a host variable, because it is too small.) I'm looking for solutions for DB2, MsSql, MySql, Hypersonic.

  • MySQL: host name universal change.

    I am making some updates to a php site which I did not design. I have a local copy of the site. At the top of each page there are settings for the host name for the db connection. Is there someway I can setup a pointer to the remote address. The address is 'mysqlhost' for example and I want that to point to 'mysql.myhost.com'. I tried creating a HOST record for mysqlhost pointing to the IP address it resolves to but that doesn't work. If I put 'mysql.myhost.com' in the connection it works. If I put that IP address it doesn't so that is probably why the HOST record idea doesn't work. Other than creating a local copy of the DB is there a quick way so that I don't have to modify each file in my dev environment and then again when I redeploy?

  • Calculating average (AVG) and grouping by week on large data set takes too long

    I'm getting average prices by week on 7 million rows, it's taking around 30 seconds to get the job done. This is the simple query: SELECT AVG(price) as price, yearWEEK(FROM_UNIXTIME(timelog)) as week from pricehistory where timelog > $range and product_id = $id GROUP BY week The only week that actually gets data changed and is worth averaging every time is always the last one, so this calculation for the whole period is a waste of resources. I just wanted to know if mysql has a tool to help out on this.

    When you run something similar to: UPDATE table SET datetime = NOW(); on a table with 1 000 000 000 records and the query takes 10 seconds to run, will all the rows have the exact same time (minutes and seconds) or will they have different times? In other words, will the time be when the query started or when each row is updated? I'm running MySQL, but I'm thinking this applies to all dbs.

    I am trying to set up user generated sub domains for my PHP application. When I go to sub.domain.com and if I upload an index.html file it works fine, however if I use index.php it gives me a "Internal Server Error 500" message I have done the steps below to get subdomains working STEP 1: Edited my DNZ zone file and appended *.domain.com. IN A 91.111.111.111 STEP 2: Appended to httpd.conf the following: <VirtualHost 91.111.111.111:80> ServerName domain.com ServerAlias *.domain.com DocumentRoot /home/domain/public_html/sub <Directory "/home/domain/public_html/sub"> Options -Indexes Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost> Step 3: Tested by uploading an index.html file to the document directory in step 2, and works fine. Tried with an index.php gives a internal server error and then I looked into Apache error log and shows error for a redirect loop more than 10 times Update: getting this error: No user or group set - set suPHP_UserGroup Any ideas why I can not use any .php file in the directory?
