  • Porting from MS Access

    I've recently been given a MS Access .mdb database file and asked to make it usable in a Linux system. What I'm looking for is a way to convert the Access database to an open-source database such as MySQL or PostGres. I don't have MS Office, and it's a one-time project for a volunteer organization so I don't want to spend money if it's avoidable. I'm running Vista x64, and have a Linux virtualbox, so something usable in either one will be good.

    Hello, I am connecting to ADS through ODBC DSN. Everything works well until I tried out my Save Routine. Data is saved quite alright but I get an error that says - "Option value changed". What could this be? Can't find in the help file. The full error message is: ODBC - 2169 [iAnywhere Solutions][Advantage ODBC Driver] Option Value Changed. I sent an email in respect of this to [email protected] since this error number falls between error numbers: 2168 - 2188 Internal Error that should be reported. The variables comes from a mysql_query and I have to do the query first. But then, if I do, I will get an error message: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by ... The error points to the line where I set the cookie above. What should I do?a

The problem arises when an address field has multiple comma seperated values e.g. home no, street no, town etc. I tried to use BigDump for it but, the problem did not solved because of a single field containing multiple comma separated values.   • Compiler error when using abstract types

    I'm trying to implement a "protocol helper" trait that is responsible for matching up Prompts and Responses. The eventual goal is to have an object that defines the various Prompt and Response classes as subclasses of a sealed trait, then have a class that mixes in the ProtocolSupport trait for that Protocol object. The problem is that my current approach won't compile, even though I'm fairly sure it should.     Basic question, sorry. Basically, I have a script that creates a MySQL entry each time someone visits the page. A logging script. However, I want to make it autoprune after, say, 100 visits. For example in pseudo code: if amount of rows > 100 { delete rows 1+ until amount of rows == 100 } So in a nutshell, each time a new row is added after 100, it needs to automatically remove the row with the smallest id (My primary key).
