Is it possible to take a screenshot of a web page with Javascript or HTML5/Canvas?

Is there a way I could insert some code into a page that would take a screenshot of what the user sees in the browser window, then upload that image via a web form of some sort? I'm working on a clone of a pay-to-use service that lets you install a widget on a web page which in turn allows viewers to report bugs in the sites layout. Currently they use a Java applet to take the screenshot, which, in my opinion, is probably the worst way to go about it (aside from requiring the user to install a plugin) Is there a javascript/flash/other alternative? webOS style view switching on iPhone app

Hello, I have been working with a iPhone app that I would like to have switch views like the Palm Pre does for multitasking. I know the usual way of switching views by using the black bar at the bottom of the app but the app I am working on does not lend itself to having a big black bar in the way (see attached picture #1). I guess my question is, how do I shrink the current view (Current Location window) and show other views on the sides? (see attached picture #2) Then be able to swipe left and right to view other views. Why is the CoreData stack in XCode's CoreData enabled template treated as private?

In regards to XCode templates with CoreData enabled, I've read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2729055/unclear-use-of-property-in-window-app-using-core-data which goes over the 'what' in the templates. But I am having an issue with the 'why'. By declaring the category in the implementation file, the CoreData accessors act like private methods. The problem with that is whenever you want to use CoreData elsewhere in your app, you need some extra code. I've figured you need to either supply your own method that exposes the managed object context, such as... - (NSManagedObjectContext *)getManagedObjectContext { return self.managedObjectContext; } ...which will allow other parts of your app to use it. Or you would need to jam pack your app delegate with specific methods to return managed objects, ie getProducts or setUser. Can anyone shed light on the reasoning here?

Close Flash Player from FlashDevelop IDE

Whenever I compile my project using FlashDevelop in 'Debug' the Flash Player window remains after I have clicked the 'Stop' button in Flash Develop. I have to then switch over to the flash player, click through any error messages and then close the player, which wastes a lot of time in the long run. Any way to make it so Flash Player closes when I click 'Stop' in the Flash Develop debug tools? EDIT: My setup is a fresh install of Windows 7, a new copy of Flash Develop 4 and Flash Player 10. Really new to XCode. Why won't the thing run?

Hi, I'm trying to follow the April 2009 and Winter 2010 Stanford iPhone app development videos and I'm running up against the same problems with both. First, they don't appear to be using the latest version of XCode - the Outlets and Actions panels are in a different window and there is little info on the net about this (other than one other post on S.O.F.) Second, having got to the point where I've managed to connect the slider, label and changedLabelText connections, I save, build and run the app - the simulator loads, the app loads and then promptly closes again. What's going on? I have not written any code yet and I still have an app which, while it compiles, does not behave! Is there a better starting point for an XCode noob than the Stanford vids? How do I detect when a cell's value has changed in Silverlight?

Hey folks, I'm working in Silverlight, trying to figure out how to set a grid cell font color based on the contents of the cell. I have an ObservableCollection bound to a DataGrid, and my items implement INotifyPropertyChanged so the grid updates as I change the values; it's all working perfectly, including letting me sort items and keep the sorting while I update the underlying items. I know I can use the LoadingRow event to change colors, but the only way I can get the event to fire is by changing the grids datasource, in which case my sorting goes out the window. So, what I really want is a way to either 1) loop the rows in the datagrid, find the cell I need, and change it's color or 2) implement a custom column that I can use to dynamically set the color. The problem is how to actually do either of those things :) All suggestions welcome.

RedirectStandardInput crashes program

Hi, the following code is to open a console application (which uses pdcurses for output, nothing special): myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = "some.exe"; myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; myProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = false; myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true; myProcess.Start(); The Problem is that it opens the designated window but directly closes it (it's barely visible). Starting the program without RedirectStandardInput works. The problem is that it does not throw an exception nor any error-message. What is wrong with my code? How can I write input to the program? Log out of an SSH session into Erlang VM without stopping the VM or leaving stale processes

I have an Erlang application running as a daemon, configured as an SSH server. I can connect to it with an SSH client and I get the standard Erlang REPL. If I 'q().' I shut down the Erlang VM, not the connection. If I close the connection ('~.' for OpenSSH, close the window in PuTTY) some processes remain under the sshd_sup/ssh_system_xx_sup tree. These appear to be stale shell processes. I do not see any exported function in the shell module that would let me shut down the shell (and therefore the SSH connection) without affecting the entire VM. How should I be logging out of the SSH session to not leave stale processes in the VM?

NETCF - Displaying custom shaped form in compact framework

Hi guys, I am developing some small little application that sits on the screen and on top of all window and flies around the screen, could be a bird or a butterfly or a fish. But I have a little bit of problem. How do I redraw the background without my images included? or how do I copy the background (not the wallpaper) behind my form with image? is it possible to have a custom shaped form also? currently, the app looks like this the 2nd image with X is what I currently have (it has some sort of tearing) and it's supposed to be the 1st one with check mark.

How to change the HTML text to Right-to-Left order when rendering the text within a WebBrowser.

hi, I am using a WebBrowser to render some HTML text. The WebBrowser is located within a rich client. I can detect the window's orientation when the rich client is launched. How do I make the text rendered within the WebBrowser to be dispayed in RTL order. I have tried body.setDir("rtl"), but it only aligned all the text in the WebBrowser to the right. It does not really reverse the content. For example, I have a photo that is displayed on the left and then a segment of text displayed on the right. After calling body.setDir("rtl"), it only aligned everything to the right in the WebBrowser, but it did not move the photo to the right, and it did not move the text to the left. Thanks a lot!

Spoof referrer to Google Analytics?

Whenever a user visits "Page A" on my site, I immediately redirect him to "Page B" by setting window.location with Javascript. "Page A" has no Google Analytics tracking on it -- when someone is redirected from "Page A" to "Page B" I want to track him as if he entered the site via "Page B". Unfortunately, my current setup breaks referrer information since people who are redirected to "Page B" appear to Google Analytics as if they came from "Page A": After users are redirected to "Page B", I want to tell Google Analytics their "real" referrer (i.e., the referrer to "Page A"). How can I do this? (Note: I realize that using a real HTTP redirect instead of a Javascript-based redirect would solve this problem. Unfortunately this isn't an option)

AutoHotkey ControlSend problem on one machine

I have this AutoHotkey script that has a weird problem. It is used in 3 workstations, but in one the ControlSend doesn't seem to work as the hotkey doesn't work in program A. All three machines have Windows XP and are Pentium 4 level machines with mostly same software, the script is in exe form. I've tried a lot of different ways to send the hotkey to Program A, but nothing seems to work. The idea of the script is simply to catch a hotkey and click in another window in addition to its normal function. The normal function just doesn't work. IE8 no honoring display:none

I have the following markup on a page and unfortunately I do not have direct access to it. . This page is opened in an iframe. There is other code on the page but it is not relevant so I have not posted it. The only access to target the code in via css. I want to not display the close button so I added this to the css file img[alt='Close'] {display:none !important;} this is the markup <td align="center"><a href='javascript:window.close()'><img src='v/vspfiles/templates/100/images/buttons/btn_close.gif' alt='Close' border=0></a></td> It works as expected in all browsers that i have tested (firefox, Opera, Safari) but in IE8 it seems to ignore this css and shows the button. Not sure if it doesn't like the selector or perhaps I have a syntax error. Not sure where to go from here.

Using EXR images in OpenCV

Hi there! I'm currently working on a project with OpenEXR and I would like to implement some Blob detection algorithms. To do this I figured that I could use OpenCV as it says in the documentation that it can open OpenEXR format files. I have all the libraries installed and working as I've been doing other things. I open a simple jpg file with openCV cvLoadImage. It works fine. But when i try to open any .exr file it doesn't seam to like it. I get a gray window where there should be the image display. Has anyone done any tests with OpenCV and OpenEXR libraries working together? Have they worked for you? What do you think? Thanks.

How can I make Vim autosave files when it loses focus?

I'm used to my editors autosaving files when they lose focus. I recently switched to MacVim, and I can't recreate that behavior. I tried this: autocmd BufLeave,FocusLost * wall but if a buffer is unnamed when the window or MacVim loses focus, I get an error like the following: Error detected while processing BufLeave Auto commands for "*": E141: No file name for buffer 1 I'm confused, because :wall's documentation says: Write all changed buffers. Buffers without a file name or which are readonly are not written. so I'd expect it to skip unnamed buffers. Is there a better way to do this?

PHP Download Script

Android:How to avoid XML verification failed error and Upgrading to 2.x SDK successfully?

Hi, I have setup for Android development with 1.5 SDK on Mac O.S X - Eclipse 3.5. I want to upgrade the SDK, so as i followed to choose Window-Android SDK and AVD Manager from Eclipse. But it throws error as follows: XML verification failed for https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml. Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'sdk:sdk- repository'. Failed to fetch URL I tried "http" instead of https, but still getting the same error. I don't know why such crap error comes. If i see Android website, http://developer.android.com/intl/zh-CN/sdk/index.html its confusing. Could someone guide me easily to update Android SDK to 2.x or later without uninstalling my current setup environment. Thanks. I appreciate your kind suggestions.

SDL_BlitSurface() not displaying image?

Is it possible to exclude some files from checkin (TFS) ?

We use configuration files within various projects under source control (TFS), where each developer has to make some adjustments in his local copy to configure his environment. The build process takes care about replacing the config files with the server configuration as a part of the deployment, so it doesn't actually matter what is in the repository. However, we would anyway like to keep some kind of a default non-breaking version of config files in the repository, so that e.g. people not involved in the particular project won't run into troubles because of local misconfiguration. We tried to resolve this by introducing the check-in policy that simply forbids to check-in the config files. This works fine, but just because we're lazy to always uncheck those checkboxes in the pending changes window, the question comes : is it possible to transparently disable the check-in of particular files without keeping them out of source control (e.g. locking their current version) ?

Removing WS_BORDER and WS_CAPTION from windows styles doesn't work

Hello, I created a small app in C# that removes border and caption from window, then it sets size to the user's resolution and centers it. It's a utility for me to use when I want to play games in windowed mode without being annoyed by the borders. Everything works fine with most games, but I tried to use it on a recently released game Alpha Protocol and it doesn't work. I could almost say that the game reverts my changes, but I'm not sure how to tell if that's true or not. I'm using imported API functions MoveWindow, SetWindowLong and SetWindowPos.
