• SharePoint 2010 / ASP.Net Integration - Looking for advice

  I have been Googling a problem that I have with trying to integrate the web application that I am working on with SharePoint 2010. The web application is a wiki style tool that allows users to log in via forms authentication or WIA against Active Directory and create content for themselves and others. What we would like to do is to allow a user have a page with the content they have created in our web application mixed in with content that they have living on the SharePoint server. For example, they may want to see a list of documents that they have on the SharePoint server mixed in with some of their content. To accomplish this, we would like to take the credentials the user has logged into our web application with (for example MYDOMAIN\jsmith) and be able to query SharePoint for the documents of that same user (MYDOMAIN\jsmith) WITHOUT the user being prompted to re-enter their credentials to access the SharePoint server (we are trying to avoid the double-hop problem) We have come up with some options for how we want to do this, but we are unsure of what the best approach is. For example, we could - Have a global user, shared by all users to get information we need from SharePoint. The downside is that we cannot filter SharePoint content to a particular user - We could store the users credentials when they log in, but that would only work for users authenticating via forms auth and would be a security issue that some users/clients would not like - Writing a SharePoint extension using WCF to allow us to access the information we need, however we'd still have the issue of figuring out how to impersonate the user we want. Neither of these options are ideal and in our investigation we came across the Claims Authentication/STS option which seems like it is trying to solve the problem we are having. So my question is, based on what I have written, is Claims/STS the best approach for us? We have not been able to find much direction on how to use this method to call into SharePoint from a Web Application and pass along the existing credentials. Does anyone have any experience with any of these issues?

• Android Keep Activity from Dieing

  The main Activity I use in my Android application uses a fair amount of memory, meaning that on a less powerful phone, it is susceptible to being killed off when not at the front. Normally this is fine, but it also happens when I am still inside my application, but have a different activity at the top of the stack (such as a preference activity). Obviously it's a problem if my application is killed while the user is still running it. Is there any way to disable the OS's ability to kill off the application for low memory problems? Thanks.

  Hi, i need to develop an iPhone application that is a Client of serverside application. This application is not for customer but for sell agents. I know that if i try to send to Apple to put on Apple Store they reject it because the application have no sense for Apple Store. The company is small so i can't use the Enterprise program. The only way i can use now is to use Ad Hoc mode but in this case if i made an update you need iTunes and i must find a way to avoid this. Thanks for the help.

• iPhone SDK Internet connection detection

  I'm working on an iPhone application that makes a few calls to web services. I posted this application on the Apple store but it got rejected (and rightly so) since there was no error message displayed to the user if no Internet connection is available. Since obviously the application would not work without it. So I just wanted to know how to best achieve this? I'm guessing something needs to go in the viewDidLoad method that will throw an alert box saying something like "You need an Internet connection to use this application". Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm developing an "installation" like cocoa application wich needs to take care of some http request, some file system reading, copying files to /usr/share, set up cron (not launchd) and ask some information to user. I discarded PackageMaker since I need more flexibility. Currently everything is going well, but on my last installation step, I need to: Delete my previously installed application folder (if exists). It's always the same path: /usr/share/MY_APP Create again the application folder at: /usr/share/MY_APP Copy application files to /usr/share/MY_APP Update a cron job It's very important that /usr/share/MY_APP keeps protected with administrative privileges, so a regular shouldn't delete it. • Working with a Java Mail Server for Testing

  I'm in the process of testing an application that takes mail out of a mailbox, performs some action based on the content of that mail, and then sends a response mail depending on the result of the action. I'm looking for a way to write tests for this application. Ideally, I'd like for these tests to bring up their own mail server, push my test emails to a folder on this mail server, and have my application scrape the mail out of the mail server that my test started. Configuring the application to use the mailserver is not difficult, but I do not know where to look for a programatic way of starting a mail server in Java. I've looked at JAMES, but I am unable to figure out how to start the server from within my test. So the question is this: What can I use for a mail server in Java that I can configure and start entirely within Java?

  Hello i wish to be able to deploy a PHP web application along with a local installation of PEAR. To be more specific, i am trying to find a way to do a 'per-application' or local installation of PEAR if this is possible. For example: The application 'MyApplication' is located in: /var/www/applications/myapplication The php library is located in: /var/www/applications/myapplication/library I am looking for a way to do a per-application installation of PEAR since not all applications are managed by me (and i want to control which PEAR packages are installed and when). I found some tutorials for a local PEAR installation (on a shared host) but i don't know if my scenario fits the one for a local PEAR installation. Any thoughts/help appreciated.

• Debian Package Control file Question.

  Hello, I need to create a debian package for a java application. In my package there a .jar file which is executable , a script which will run this jar file and a .so file for fmod. I read the tutorial provided at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/Debian-Binary-Package-Building-HOWTO/ My question is in control file there is a Depends field which basically mentions the packages that need to installed in order to install my application. How do i find which packages are required for my application. I followed the instructions provided in the link for one of the .so and did ~/Desktop/PennTotalRecall/native/fmod/lib/linux64$ dpkg -S libfmodex64-4.28.09.so dpkg: libfmodex64-4.28.09.so not found. It gives above result. Also my application requires java 1.5 to be installed in order for it to run. How do I specify in my debian package. Thanks, AJ

The same application when triggered from MacOS throws an out of memory exception which occurs when the application is short of memory. Is there any way to increase the memory allocated for apps running in mac os environment. Also please let me know how JVM arguments can be passed to apps started through java webstart in macOS.   Hi. I have to plan the development for an application with these major requirements: Show different graphical data and animations in 6 monitors, in fullscreen mode. The hardware to be used is a PC with 3 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 cards. I have some expertise working with OpenGL, but never with more than one monitor. I have the (some limited) freedom to choose an operating system for the application. My options are: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu 8.04/10.04. I would like to know, if you have some expertise or knowledge in the multi-monitor application development field, what is the recommended operating system for this kind of application? And, do I need any software other than the operating system and the NVIDIA drivers to be able to use the 6 monitors in fullscreen, showing different things in each one of them? • Cocoa/Objective-C - Child window with text input without main window becoming inactive

  Hello All, I have a need to spawn a window that will hover just above my main window in a cocoa application. I want this main window to allow the user to enter some text in an input box. All is well until the text input box actually gains focus. The main window becomes "deactivated." This window is borderless and is a slightly custom shape -- its more like a hover card than anything else, I suppose. Basically, I'd like this thing to work almost exactly like Spotlight (Apple + Space) -- you can enter text, but this is such an an ancillary operation that in the context of the greater UX, you don't want the jarring effect of the main window graying out (becoming inactive). You'll notice when you have some application open and in-focus, spotlight will not cause the window of that application to become inactive. This problem arises because text input seems to REQUIRE that the child window become the key window (it will not let you place the cursor in the text input field). When it becomes key, the main window becomes inactive. So far I've tried: Subclassing NSWindow for my main application and overriding isKeyWindow such that it only loses key when the application is no longer the users focus (as opposed to the window). This had the unintended effect of colliding with key status of the child window and having very strange effects on the keyboard input (some keys are not captured, like delete) Creating a view instead of a window. Doesn't work because of this problem -- you cannot draw over a Webkit WebView these days. Anybody Cocoa/OSX wizards have any ideas? I've become a little obsessed with this one. An itch I can't scratch.

I was wondering if there is a way to essentially share that user credentials with the Flash movie in a secure mechanism? But now i want to make my application independent . User need know about this background cygwin commands . 4) So in my java application i used "Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "java net.tinyos.sf.SerialForwarder)" . 5) This i neither giving any error nor starting the interface. Am I going on right way ? When i am using runtime execute command , how can i make sure that this command is called through cigwin interface ? Also .. if i want to write .bat file .. i which i can give commands which will be executed .. how can i make sure that those commands are given through cigwin .. and not through cmd.exe .. Please help . me .

  Hi I have a VC++ application and in my application i have some basic file operations. Below is the defaulting code CStdioFile cFile; CFileException e; CString sReport; CString sHtmlfile = "testreport.html" OutputDebugString((sHtmlfile)); if (!cFile.Open(sHtmlfile,CFile::modeCreate | CFile::modeWrite, &e )) { } The problem is my application executes this piece of code every few minutes. and it works fine. After several runs of the code the cFile.Open() function fails. I tried to get the error message TCHAR szError[1024]; e.GetErrorMessage(szError,1024); OutputDebugString((szError)); The irony is the szError error message is "No error occured". This again works once i restart my application. Any idea why this occurs. Thanks in advance.
