• Accessing one process's memory contents from another module

  I am developing a virtual device driver such that the user can write to the driver a process' pid and a virtual address, and the module will use these two values to get the memory contents of the target process. I am wondering if there is any easy functions that can fetch user page's data at this virtual address. I have tried get_user but this is not possible because the modules executing get_user at another process's context. I also tried to use ptrace_readdata, however, it seems that the file at /kernel/ptrace.c leaves a function access_process_vm undefined and also I don't know how to compile the source code of my module with this file (the linker seaches file in /linux/include by default). I am wondering if there are any other solutions...

• How do I store more information in a marker?

  Hello, I'm using Google Maps v3 and I build in the server side a json collection of location data. So when I receive that, I iterate through that collection and create a marker object for each and every one of them. For each of these markers, I bind them with the click event, so when the user clicks on a marker in the map, it displays an infoWindow with data related to the associated location. I have an array to store all the location got from the server that holds the retrieved json objects and their corresponding marker. The problem is that, even when I have an array that I can reference or iterate through, I need to not only get the marker object when the user clicks on them, but also the location object, that stores more information. I tried to mantain this array of objects and reference it from the calling object without success, because the function is called by the marker and not the location object. So I thought if it's possible to store more information in the google maps marker object like using a general purpose field. Please let me know if more information is needed. Thanks!

• LINQPad - Dump extension method - I want one!

  Hi, LINQPad is amazing, particularly useful is the Dump() extension methods which renders objects and structs of almost any type, anonymous or not, to the console. Initially, when I moved to Visual Studio 2010, I tried to make my own Dump method using a delegate to get the values to render for anonymous types etc. It's getting pretty complicated though and whilst it was fun and educational at first what I need is a solid implementation. Having checked out the LinqPad code in reflector I am even more assured that I'm not going to get the implementation right. Is there a free library I can include to provide the Dump functionality?   Like many variables in PHP using ini_set() on a page doesn't actually work. I've recently upgraded my PHP version and found that my multiple image uploader is now capped. After 3 hours of frustration, I've found that my new PHP install has the new "max_file_uploads" parameter set to "20". So only the first 7 images get uploaded (each is in three sizes, 7*3=21). I can now change my php.ini value of "max_file_uploads" to 300, but I'd rather not do that side wide. Is there any way to set that value just for a single file (upload.php)? Could a .htaccess file be used for this?

  I have a lite version of an application that uses a SQLite database. I want to copy that database over to the full version of the application when the user installs the full version. I have written some code to perform the file copy, but the lite database file always comes up as unreadable. The file is there and I can point to it, but I can't read it to perform the copy. In the Android documentation, we read: You can save files directly on the device's internal storage. By default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user). Note the words, "by default". Is there a way that I can override that default and make the SQLite file readable by my other application? Thank you.

  Is it possible for me to have a conditional in XSLT such that I find and replace only the FIRST tag of a particular tag name? For example, I have an XML file with many tags. I would like to replace the first of these tags with . The rest should be left alone. How would I do this in my transform? What I currently have is this: <xsl:template match="title"> <PageTitle> <xsl:apply-templates /> </PageTitle> </xsl:template> which finds all tags and replaces them with PageTitle.   I am trying to do this, and running into problems. The parent project needs to access the class SettingsViewController from the child project. I have put the child project path into my header search paths. • How do I get google protocol buffer messages over a socket connection without disconnecting the clie

  Hi there, I'm attempting to send a .proto message from an iPhone application to a Java server via a socket connection. However so far I'm running into an issue when it comes to the server receiving the data; it only seems to process it after the client connection has been terminated. This points to me that the data is getting sent, but the server is keeping its inputstream open and waiting for more data. Would anyone know how I might go about solving this? I did try replacing the socket writedata method with [request writeToOutputStream:[socket getCFWriteStream]]; Which I thought might work, however I get an error claiming that the "Protocol message contained an invalid tag (zero)". I'm fairly certain that it doesn't contain an invalid tag as the message works when sending it via the writedata method. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! What I mean is if you have to scroll down to see it, you can't click it. I imagine this has to do with the geometry, since the element doesn't show up on the screen it can't do the math to click it right. Any ideas to get around this? Maybe some way to make the window behave like a billion x billion pixels but still look 200x200?

  I have the following schema, which I use to ensure that a person's PhoneNumber and PhoneNumberType (Home, Work, etc.) is not longer than 10 characters. However, I want to improve this schema so that PhoneNumberType is not required if a PhoneNumber is not provided, but is required if the PhoneNumber is provided.   Hello! I have a function called add_item which actually inserts values in a field item_name of temporary table called temp having fields temp_id and item_name. I have another table calleed item which consists of fields item_id, item_name, price. I have another table called quotation which consists of fields q_id, item_id,item_name,price. Now I cant figure out how do i compare the item_name from temp to the field item_name from item. And then, insert the values of item in quoatation table. Can anyone guide me please?

• How do I start a second console application in Visual Studio when one is already running

  Hi All, I am working through some examples in a WCF book. There is a Host project and Client project within a single solution. Both are console applications. The Host is the startup app, but the Client app doesn't seem to open the Console like the book says. Book says while the Host is running, run the Client. The Run button is disabled tho as it is already running. The book example definitely has them in the same solution and a single instance of Visual Studio. Anyways, what am I missing here? I have done this with two instances of VS, but I truly have never does this in a single instance. Any help is always appreciated. Cheers, ~ck in San Diego
