I wrote at a number of occasions (here or here), that it could be really beneficial to use a different memory allocator for highly-threaded workloads, as the standard allocator is well ... the standard, however not very effective as soon as many threads comes into play. I didn't wrote about this as it was in my phase of silence but there was some change in the allocator area, Solaris 10 got a revamped mtmalloc allocator in version Solaris 10 08/11 (as described in "libmtmalloc Improvements"). The new memory allocator was introduced to Solaris development by the PSARC case 2010/212. But what's the effect of this new allocator and how does it works? Rickey C. Weisner wrote a nice article with "How Memory Allocation Affects Performance in Multithreaded Programs" explaining the inner mechanism of various allocators but he also publishes test results comparing Hoard, mtmalloc, umem, new mtmalloc and the libc malloc. Really interesting read and a must for people running applications on servers with a high number of threads.

Number of items (documents and folders): You can sync up to 20,000 items in your SkyDrive (personal library). You can sync up to 5,000 items from other libraries, per library. The decision is difficult because a lot of my work depends on my communication device, and whatever I pick, I will be stuck with for 2 years. Here is how I see the two stacking up. iPhone 5 of course based on rumors so far. I didn’t even consider Android here because I don’t like Android as an OS. once upon a time i have a problem in visual studio that i declare here. they never thing what i want to say and i can't tell them clearly as they want. today i got the mail from visual studio 2010 connect that they tell me " problem can be solved in future version" that's a good thing i feel something better because anyone can't believes but i tell them many time. atleast they hear what i want to say. but i never believe on them even before that i get the new version of visual studio. means may be believe possible after the new version. because i know that they are slow slow and slow. last time i found that they tell that they launch visual studio on 20 march but atleast they launched them on 12 april as adobe lauch their other product in creative series the link for connect is here

SharePoint 2010 Training: more information Greetings! I will be speaking at NNUG Kristiansand tonight (sorry for the very short notice). So I was thinking what should I demo tonight?Hmm!!!Instead of using any slides or such material, what I thought would be a tonne of fun, would be to develop a service bus based application running in Azure. This will be a good opportunity to code and talk, and run into some snafus and show off some VS2012 improvements/annoyances. At the end of an apprx. 1 hour talk, I hope to have an application ready that you can run yourself by the end of the evening. hehe :) .. now that’s cool isn’t it? :) .. HP annonce que ses prochains appareils tourneront simultanément sous WebOS et Windows, à partir de 2012 Le CEO de HP, Lep Apotheker, a déclaré ce matin qu'à partir de l'année prochaine, tous les ordinateurs produits par sa compagnie tourneront à la fois sous WebOS (l'OS acquis lors du rachat de Palm en 2010) et sous Windows. Pourquoi une telle décision ? Pour "créer une plateforme massive" afin que les développeurs puissent développer des applications pour un environnement qui sera à la fois présent sur les ordinateurs, les smartphones et les tablettes.
