  • Windows 8 delete key always delete file permanently

    Don't know why, but now my Delete key works the same as Shift + Delete which shows a 'Do you want to delete XXX permanently dialog. And it does not go through Recycle Bin anymore. How so? I am using the Windows 8 x64 edition. Update: My recycle bin setting is fine, that's why this is tricky. But the "Display delete confirmation dialog" check is checked and grayed out. That's one bit that is. The radio button of "Don't move files to recycle bin" is not checked.

  • win7-64sp1: Rename folder (including zip file) error popup

    With the install of win7-64sp1 I get a windows explorer popup on any folder rename including .zip files. "Could not find this item" They are referring to the old name. What a bug. If I click "Try Again' the popup goes away, folder is renamed. Lots of posts on the net about this but no fixes. I tried a registry patch (that I shouldn't have) and it did nothing to fix. My experience with Microsoft is that they will never fix this, and want me to buy windows 8. This started happening after the install of sp1. I posted in one of the zillions of ridiculously byzantine and almost useless Microsoft forums but expect no answer there. They'll probably tell me to reinstall windows.

  • File gone or altered after MySQL[HY000][2002] error [on hold]

    I'm working on a rather small project, and today I got an SQLSTATE[HY000][2002]:Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' error. After a bit of googling and a few attempts to restart the mysqld service, I gave up and tried rebooting the computer. This did the trick, MySQL was now running fine. I did, however, get a more serious issue: Some files were missing, others were altered. Also, a few posts in the MySQL was gone. It's really strange, it's like the whole project has been reset two or three days, and I have no clue why. Some additional details about this: I save my files after every line of code. I'm religious about this. So I haven't lost the files that way. I was accessing the server via SSH when the error occurred, so I did the programming and the reboot over SSH. The server is a Raspberry Pi, model B, with Raspian on which I run Apache2. I was viewing the site and had an active session when I rebooted the system. The pages I lost did work just before this all happened. The MySQL fault occurred when I tried to add a text NOT NULL column to a table which had entries. Now, the amount of lost work isn't really that much, so I'm not really looking for help recovering the files. The reason I'm posting this is because I wonder how did this happen, and why?

    I tryied to set the JAVA_HOME environmet variable in the ~/.profile file and I made a mistake JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_37" PATH=$JAVA_HOME:PATH the error is in the PATH referencing. I put PATH rather than $PATH. this prevents me from login. I tried to edit the file using the recovery mode but it says that the file system is read only. so any suggestions how to deal with this issue. thanks

    By default WordPress restricts the file types that can be uploaded to /uploads using the default Media Manager. I know it is possible to manually extend the allowed file types. I also know it is possible to change functions.php to allow ALL file types to be uploaded. This restriction obviously exists for security concerns - e.g. someone could upload a harmful .exe Would it not be possible to allow secure upload of all filetypes by setting the permissions of the /uploads directory to prevent execution of any of its contents? Thus it wouldn't matter if someone uploaded a harmful file because it would not be executable on the server...

  • Transient mysqlcheck errors about "size of datafile" (file too small)

    Running mysqlcheck on a live database is giving me transient errors like this one: mydatabase.mytable error : Size of datafile is: 500719688 Should be: 501000484 error : Corrupt When I run the command again or check the table one-off using mysql, it's listed as OK. Is this just a side effect of running checks on live tables? Is it possible that data is not flushed, hence the strange discrepancy? We moved several databases this morning by shutting down mysqld on the source and rsyncing files across to the new server, but these are all MyISAM tables so I don't believe the two things are related. (But I mention it just in case.)

I tried to delete it, and it got rid of everything except 2 files named: ???????????p????????? ???????????p????????? From what I see on Google this has happened to others before. Apparently nothing short of booting up with Linux will solve this??

    Scenario: I have an application (C#) that expects a SQL database and login, which are set by a user. Once connected, it checks for the existence of several table and creates them if not found. I'd like to expand on this by having the program be capable of adding columns to those tables if I release a new version of the program which relies upon the new columns. Question: What is the best way to programatically check the structure of an existing SQL table and create or update it to match an expected structure? I am planning to iterate through the list of required columns and alter the existing table whenever it does not contain the new column. I can't help but wonder if there's an approach that is different or better. Criteria: Here are some of my expectations and self-imposed rules: Newer versions of the program might no longer use certain columns, but they would be retained for data logging purposes. In other words, no columns will be removed. Existing data in the table must be preserved, so the table cannot simply be dropped and recreated. In all cases, newly added columns would allow null data, so the population of old records is taken care of by having default null values. Example: Here is a sample table (because visual examples help!): id sensor_name sensor_status x1 x2 x3 x4 1 na019 OK 0.01 0.21 1.41 1.22 Then, in a new version, I may want to add the column x5. The "x-columns" are all data-storage columns that accept null.

    It was hard to title this question. :) I have a user control that is used to display a list of lookup items in my database and a delete button for each item (Editor User Control below). The delete button has an onClientClick event used to display a confirmation dialog in JavaScript. On page one, the confirmation pops up and functions correctly. The overall structure is: Master Page Page Editor User Control List of items with delete button On page two, the confirmation pops up but regardless of the answer, the page posts back anyway.     I realize my title is not very clear, but I am having trouble thinking of a better one. If anyone wants to correct it, please do. I'm developing a data structure for my 2 dimensional game with an infinite universe. The data structure is based on a simple (!) node/leaf system, like the R-Tree. This is the basic concept: you set howmany childs you want a node (a container) to have maximum. If you want to add a leaf, but the node the leaf should be in is full, then it will create a new set of nodes within this node and move all current leafs to their new (more exact) node. This way, very populated areas will have a lot more subdivisions than a very big but rarely visited area. This works for normal objects. The only problem arises when I have more than maxChildsPerNode objects with the exact same X,Y location: because the node is full, it will create more exact subnodes, but the old leafs will all be put in the exact same node again because they have the exact same position -- resulting in an infinite loop of creating more nodes and more nodes. So, what should I do when I want to add more leafs than maxChildsPerNode with the exact same position to my tree? PS. if I failed to explain my problem, please tell me, so I can try to improve the explanation.

For example, I store a new date for 2009 for ashura and afghanistan .. I tried to limit the redundancy and split the tables as countries (id,name) holidays (id, holiday, celebrated_by, link) // celebrated_by will store the id's of countries separated by ',' holiday_dates (holiday_id, date, year) // date will the full date and year will be as 2008 or 2009 Now i have some problems with the structure too.. consider that i store the holiday like Independence day , its common for more countries but will have different dates. so how to handle this and and the link will have to be different too.. And i need to list the countries which celebrates the same holiday and also when i describe about a single holiday i need to list all the other holidays that country would be celebrating.. And the most of all , i already have huge amount of data in the old tables and i need to split it to the new one once the new design is finalized... Any ideas?

  • Including an embedded framework using a cross-project-reference: Header no such file or directory

    I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient?   • Ant build classpath jar generates "error in opening zip file"

    I have a project built in eclipse with a dependencies on 3rd party jars. I'm trying to generate a suitable build file for ant - using eclipses built-in export-ant buildfile feature as a starting block. When I run the build target I get the following error: [javac] error: error reading
